location is very good..very clean and staff very helpful

We were told that we were upgraded to Legacy rooms but I don’t see any such thing like an upgrade. It was actually a downgrade as there was no view from the rooms. It was like a closed box with Zero view. So I believe the staff misinformed me about the upgrade which I did not like.

The hotel is ideally located in the center of the city close to many attractions. It is a beautiful heritage place, modern and yet full of history which I will miss certainly. The hotel is well-maintained and everything is clean. The gym is well equipped and a large pool invites one to a swim after a busy day. I enjoyed the large selection at the breakfast buffet and especially the very comfortable bed in the room. I can only recommend this place.

It is hard to find something in a place where almost everything is perfect, but I noticed that some of the staff do not speak very good English, however, communication was never a problem, and Kolkata may rather be a city that attracts local individuals than international tourists.

Food was exceptional. Pasta is highly recommended. Breakfast was also very good and the service at breakfast was good too. Location is good. And the building is also good. Gym facilities and pool were good.

Check in and check out took long. I requested an extra bed ahead of time via Booking.com messages. It wasn’t communicated between hotel teams. So we waited a long time. Room floor wasn’t clean. There was a slipper under the bed from previous guest. TV has no international news channels.

A solo female traveller, I stayed in the Deluxe King Room, which was safe, clean, comfortable, spacious, quiet, had block out blinds, a strong water pressure rain shower, and unlimited complimentary bottled water. I experienced exceptional customer service - customised meal to cater for dietary needs, faults repaired within 30min, efficient room service, reliable wake up service, late check-out. Rejuve Spa was amazing - I highly recommend a 3h customised package which will leave you feeling calm and rejuvenated! I was unwell during my stay - the Spa Manager checked in to ensure I was ok and bought me fresh coconut water to help my recovery, and the Executive Chef prepared me a special packed lunch for check out. All of the staff were professional and courteous - thank you for a wonderful stay - I will be back!

The room temperature was cool (20C) with no option for heating, poor quality tea/coffee and no herbal tea or chai, few vegan and Bengali menu options, and 30% tax for all transactions. Organised tour options would have been appreciated.

Location was great at the center of the city . Room and lobby were extremely well maintained and staff was super helpful. Fragrance on the property was unique and made it feel luxurious. Breakfast was amazing as well with lots of variety and juices included . Room was excellent and clean. And on our request provided bucket and mug as well. Overall exceptional .

We started on Christmas so I was expecting some gift set celebrating festival, but it is not big deal .

This was my second visit and absolutely love the staff there. extremely polite and helpful. Seems like they needs to upgrade or replace their furniture especially toilet which has nasty stains. Cleaning and maintenance is not properly done for any tap, sink toilet and floor. breakfast area is extremely messy. the sit cushion has curry mark and bad stains along with the napkin. Doesn’t look like a 5 star hotel.

Customer Service is one of the reasons I will probably come back and very LGBTQ friendly.

Great location, very near to all the attractions and right in the heart of the city. Staff were very friendly too. Good breakfast options, a lovely large room too. Nice and clean everywhere. Easy to walk to the shops nearby

A great pool, but the poolside was a bit barren. No atmosphere. There wasn't a bar - it was closed, it just needs some nice plants poolside, to make it look nice. Also, we ran out of Toilet paper, as it wasn't replaced. We called reception they said they would send it over right away. 3 hours later, nothing, so I walked down and asked again. Once again, a big apology, and the front desk said it will be sent right away. We went out for dinner, by the time we arrived late at night, found out they hadn't sent any. In the end, we just managed with the boxed tissues! Also, our room should have given us access to the 'Legacy Lounge', one of the reasons why I booked it, but because there was a private function happening, it was closed to us.

The overall experience was nice, the breakfast layout was quite varied.

The breakfast was very crowded. Often finding empty tables was a challenge. The hotel staff was courteous but the front office check-in personnel looked over worked and took a lot of time to clear. The location was a plus as it was in the heart of the city.

We have had a beautiful stay in Lalit hotel. The staff could not be more attentive, the rooms were immaculate and very large. I would like to pay special thanks to the duty manager Tayab who made us feel so very welcome. Also, I would recommend the tour of the hotel which is steeped in history, and the decor has been perfect restored to its former glory, credit to Lalit for an incredible job. Our tour guide was Ekata, her knowledge of the hotel was excellent as was her English. I would definitely recommend this hotel and if we are ever back in Calcutta, we will return. Penny and David

Attentive and professional staff, well-furnished and well kept hotel rooms, nice bathrooms and beds.

I was in two different rooms over my stay and I think it really depends on what kind of room you get - some of them are high up with amazing views over the city, however in the second one (technically the higher category) the window went out onto a back alley where workers take their breaks, so it was almost impossible to ever have the blinds open. I also missed some general lobby space/café area to just sit and work during the day. Only one of their restaurants (buffet where you also have breakfast) is open at the moment, despite what the listing suggests with bar and café.
