Everything from check in to check out was handled professionally..The room was huge...The lightings,air conditioning were just great.The amenities provided were top notch...The bed was fit for a king ,very comfortable ...extra pillows provided as per my request.Room service was prompt even at 3am in the morning.Housekeeping did an awesome job in cleaning up.Its like an old world charm in Calicut.The lawns were well done up
The building exterior looks rundown ....Being a Taj property expected a bit fresher look.

This is not a new hotel, that's obvious ! And it certainly needs new paint at the outside ! But otherwise we appreciated the service, the room, the food, and certainly the swimming pool ! And a perfect location to visit the center of town on foot (or tuctuc), close to the beach and the promenade where thousands of people like to come strolling around in the evening. It's not the most flashy 5star hotel but for that price, we will go back again !

Breakfast was Good and the Hotel staff very courteous.
The Hotel has only one restaurant, which was booked by a single party for lunch. They were not able to provide a table for me as the single restaurant was full. The name of the Hotel is Gateway Hotel Beach Road however it is 2 km away from the beach and also located on PT Usha road, so the name is misleading visitors. I had expected the Hotel to be closer to the beach due to its name, but it wasn't the case.

Very centrally located hotel within short distance from the beach and other places of interest like SM street. The staff was polite, helpful and professional. The quality of food was very good . Covered car parking was available. Easy and quick check in and check out. Very clean setup . Overall we had an enjoyable stay.
The hotel could do with a fresh coat of paint from outside .

Its an old but beautiful property... Close to the beach and surrounded by many amazing restaurants.. the staff are amazing... The view from the room is good, but unfortunately my room was on the 1st floor and both the windows were blocked by a tree... In-room dinning is amazing... I have stayed in this property few times and there is some special charm to it... An old vintage feel... Or like aged wine... You kind of love it the way it is...
The rooms and the interior could be a little bright and vibrant.. i remember staying here many times with my family when i was a teenager and the rooms are exactly the same even now... A little fixer upper or updating would be amazing... The breakfast spread is good... But the taste could be enhanced a little especially because it's Calicut... Food is to die for.. so i wish Gateway does something about making the breakfast a little tasty.. Well i am talking only about the breakfast... The in-room dinning is amazing... What ever i ordered was finger licking good...

Location close to beach. The breakfasts options are really good. Check in process was really fast, The staff is efficient once you are at the hotel

Calm and serene location with a very good food menu and excellent service. Special word of appreciation for Mr. SRIJIT from the Ayurveda Center who gave me the best massage of my life. Highly Recommended ! Also Mr. SHINE the restraunt manager was very helpful and generous. I learnt a lot from him about the Ayurveda treatment and food options at the hotel. The taj gateway has an ideal location which is set amidst the heart of the kozihikode city. The Calicut beach is a just awalk away from the hotel. As our flight was late night so we got an check out ie till 5in the evening. The breakfast was lavish ,the pool water was fresh and clean .the staff was amiable and nice,upgraded our room to superior room . Also the services were quick .

Its been a good Experience. This is the third Gateway property i have stayed and its always a pleasure. Just want to highlight that the Breakfast menu was pretty much the same both days and the food items could have been better like the authentic Kerela Food.
