Staffs were exceptional. Fast response to your inquiry before and during our stay. Requested for Airport pick up, driver was on time, polite, professional and so attentive to our requests. The room is clean and tidy, with a decent size for 2 travelers. Location wise is good. Convenient stores nearby (< 5 mins walking distance). Breakfast buffet was ok. Indonesian's dishes was delicious. Western's selection wasn't many, only potatoes, eggs, no sausage/mushroom/beans. But we are in Indonesia so let's celebrate local delicacy. Room service, we did try the steak with mushroom sauce. It was exceptional. Would definitely recommend and stay in The City Hotel in the future.

Hair dryer needs to be requested from the Housekeeping, and there's no Minibar inside the room

We had an excellent stay at the city hotel. We initially booked two nights because we were unsure if we wanted to stay elsewhere in Ambon but we ended up extending to 10 nights here. - Buffet breakfast was extensive (mainly Indonesian cuisine) - The hotel restaurant did excellent food - Great AC and Wi-Fi - We rented a very good scooter for 100,000Rp a day - Staff are very friendly and helpful - Beds are large and comfortable - In a good location within Ambon city, walking distance to restaurants, cafes, shops, and the Pelni office Highly recommend to anyone visiting Ambon.

Great value , Hotel is new with modern features for a very comfortable stay . spacious room with tea /coffee facilities. Good wifi signal and good source for travel information. I hired a scooter for 2 days through the hotel , excellent value and model, ideal for sightseeing all around the island . The staff are very accommodating and go out their way to help , Superb breakfast and great views from the 7th floor . would recommend .

I absolutely loved the stay at The City Hotel. The hotel was modern and had all the facilities to accommodate foreign travellers. The atmosphere was so welcoming and the service was exceptional. Communication from the time of booking and the special request I made was catered for and quick communication from the hotel which was the wow factor. The breakfast had a nice variety and freshly made omelette with a choice of ingredients. The staff were brilliant, always smiling and always want to make sure you have a great stay whilst in their care. I highly recommend the pick up and the drop off service to the airport or port which is very reasonably priced and hassle free. The big bonus for me was everyone spoke good English which made life easy when communicating your needs. I would also like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Joan on reception who had a very cute and lovely smile when you interacted with her. She also very kindly help book our onward journey to the next island I visited because the host at the resort I wanted to go to did not speak English. Joan made all the arrangements and again with a smile. Not only Joan but all the staff went the extra mile to make sure my stay at the City Hotel was pleasant. Thank you very much for your hospitality and I can see why this hotel is so popular with guest (local and foreign)

Friendly and professional staff, very comfortable bed and pillows (we almost wanted to buy them!), decent breakfast (various indonesian & western dishes), laundry was relatively quick with a next-day turnaround. Would stay here again when we come back to Ambon, it's great value for the quality of the stay.

We stayed a few times, the first time we got a nice room but the electricity randomly shut off and we had to ask them to fix it by stuffing an extra card in, the second time we got an older room with a more worn bathroom. Also, they had a welcome message on the TV and we could see the previous guests' last names both times 😅

This is fantastic value hotel for anyone staying in Ambon. The rooms are cozy, with comfortable beds and pillows, a decent amount of space, modern stylish bathroom, a fantastic rooftop restaurant with a delicious and diverse selection of food and very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.

We were surprised that the very nice bathroom lacked hot water, but after feeling a bit worn down by heat after many days traveling, we didn’t really didn’t mind.

really enjoyed my stay with the hotel. very attentive, responsive and helpful staff who catered to all requests, such as arranged motorcycle rental at very reasonable price. hotel is in a good location and provides a good buffet breakfast at the comfortable and cozy restaurant at the top floor of the hotel which overlooks the surroundings and provides a good view. the nearby restoran dapur ibu just a short minute walk away is a great place for good food that is home style, very reasonably priced and you eat in a clean comfortable environment. and the owner and staff are very friendly

only 1 area that the hotel could try to improve on in the short term - do something about the hot water supply. seems that it gets used up quickly. because the shower takes a while to heat up at the end of the day

The staff is nice Breakfast included and with many options at the rooftop with great views. I was every morning looking forward to it. Rooms are clean big and spacious. Bathroom is great too. They provide anything that you need. Live music at the rooftop. AC

A but pricy in my opinion considering it is in Ambon, not a really touristy place.

The best part of my trip to Ambon was the owner of this hotel hooking me up with a boat trip so I could go snorkeling! Thank you so much for taking the time to coordinate this for me. I also really liked the vibe of the whole hotel and especially the rooftop! Very cute place and I wish I had time to stay longer. Takeaway breakfast was also convenient for an early check out.

Good place for one night before heading off on liveaboard! Cute hotel with lovely restaurant on top. Do not serve any cocktails if you’re keen for that. Room was big and comfy.

Breakfast in morning is okay - I would drink the orange juice. I think it’s just orange syrup 😂. AC was okay, and towels looked a bit dirty.
