The location is at the beachfront with black sand and near many good restaurants. The hotel has its own cheap convenient store. The room is spacious with a very large window. It is well equipped with air conditioner, fridge, electric kettle, table, and drying rack. Wifi is great. The swimming pool is big. The breakfast is superb buffet with various choices, compared to other budget accommodations in Bali. The staffs are supportive and responsive to Booking chat.

The area around the hotel is quite dark. The air conditioner is too small for the room so it takes very long time to cool the room. For a while, the water temperature cannot be adjusted and the water is too hot. The shower curtain cannot protect the floor to be flooded. The room door and bathroom door are transparent. A safety box, toothbrush, and toothpaste should be provided. Card payment is surcharged.

Umbrellas by the pool need replacing The second smaller pool all the beds were broken We only had breakfast once and it wasn’t great. Food sitting in the hot sun Coffee wasn’t good But plenty of options up the road Pool bar available but only had staff when pool was empty. Could make a lot more of this feature We had a poolside room be prepared for the 54 steps. Unfortunately I had rolled my ankle which didn’t help!

Loved this spot! Great location, walking distance from lots of restaurants, easy access to beach, beautiful pool. Staff were very kind and welcoming, and even decorated the kids beds with towels in different shapes which they loved. Quick scooter ride to great snorkelling spots. Good snorkelling from main beach as well. Wifi everywhere too and liked that they didn’t promote single use plastic, we could refill our water bottles in reception as well as our room water being refilled daily.

Breakfast was good. But some of the food wasn’t very warm (buffet style), but that’s just being a bit picky. Lots of variety provided which is great. Bathroom water temp & pressure not great. Either scolding hot or cold.

Loved Amed & loved the Amed Cafe & Hotel Kebun Wayan. It's in two locations with the rooms, pools & rooftop bar/restaurant quite steeply tiered built into the hillside then the cafe area is right on the beach with loungers just feet from the water where you can snorkle with turtles straight after breakfast : ) The staff were all super helpful & friendly. Really fell in love with this place.

The rooms are a little dated but still very charming. The wifi in my room wasn't reliable enough to work from but the staff were so accommodating & let me set up camp in the rooftop bar or reception when I needed to make calls etc.

So much more to this property in person. Would have been very stately in its time, remains stately now. Great location. Awoke to a rooster crowing early and then fell back to sleep each day. Loved the visiting cat looking for attention. Felt very calming and homely. Terrific quirky character for a relaxed beachy holiday. Beautifully friendly people and rooms well made up everyday as requested. Terrific location with the restaurant across the road (not busy and easy to cross). Beach and long sun chairs directly on the beach. Black sand and rocks (wore beach going Zorali sandals in the water, to snorkel). Amazing colourful reef fish. Bintang to cool down before lounging in the umbrella shaded sun. Cocktails and more Bintang for sunsetting beyond Mt Agung volcano. All in all, had everything we wanted plus more for the 4 night stay. Banana pancakes and scrambled eggs for breky. We’ll definitely be back. Amed is magical 🙏❤️ Warungs with live music and beanbags small walk down the hill. Also Pokebowl a little walk into to town with a band playing great tunes 🙏

This was a lovely stay in an interesting Lumbung Style Chalet. It was on the cafe side of the road. A really nice outside raised balcony area, (you went up steps to the property) with comfy sofa, chair and nice table. Very pleasant in the evenings, with the very nice garden in front. Inside the chalet there was a lovely large window with a very good view of the sea. I did move a table and two chairs in front of this window, as just seemed such a nice place to relax with a drink etc. looking at the sea view, with the window wide open. There were also plug points, so very convenient to sit with a laptop. The table had been much further back, where dark, just against wall with no view at all and not a good place to sit. The bed was also very comfortable with mozzie nets all around. However mozzies could still get into the room, as open areas in the eves of the roof. Rain did leak in a couple of places when extremely heavy, including the downstairs bathroom. Thankfully it didn’t rain too much during my stay. Staff were always very helpful and would sort out any problems promptly. It was really nice, sat overlooking the beach every morning when having a nice buffet breakfast. I have stayed here before and really like the views from the top swimming pool and the very friendly staff. It is also a great place to stay and explore the area. There are some lovely walks along the coast and also up into the hills and mountains, where you can walk for hours and will encounter very friendly locals. I have even been invited in and offered refreshments, where they just seem pleased to see you. Definitely a nice area to spend some time exploring.

Mozzies getting into room and roof leaking when heavy rain. Not enough choice at breakfast. Another choice of fresh fruit would have been good, rather than only the same two every day. Also an option of a large fresh, cooked thin, pinapple pancake, rather than just a stack of very small, very plain, thick ones. on the buffet table. Would have been a good alternative to omelettes/eggs. Just minor details as all else good.

The views are fantastic. There's some stairs to climb to get to the room, but it's worth it. The room itself is also massive, with a huge balcony with a hammock, and a little fridge on the balcony. There's a large swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers, and the included breakfast right on the beach is great. The layout of the room with the little desk with coffee and water is also very nice.

It could have been a little cleaner, and my shower had either boiling hot or cold water, nothing in between, and once switched to hot, it would not cool down again for minutes. It was a minor issue, though, and maybe if I'd have mentioned it to the staff, they could have fixed it. I'm staying there again soon, so I'll let them know then :) There was also some smell coming from the bathroom if you left the door open, but again, not a huge issue. I did feel like the AC struggled to keep the room cool at times.

Had such a great time staying here. It is located right on the beach in front of the best place for spotting turtles. Just swim slightly to the left side, directly outside the beach cafe and in about 50-60m out you can see turtles. In terms of the room it was located a few steps from the sea so I could easily lock my things in the room and go snorkelling. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I asked for a mosquito net and they provided one. The bed was comfy. AC good and breakfast delicious.

There could have been a shower curtain to stop the bathroom floor getting wet but this is a minor concern. The room was cleaned daily.

This is a well developed, well managed, and well cared for property. The lodgings and other facilities cascade down the hill to the beach, bisected by the main road that passes through Amed and neighboring villages. The large pool at the top of the property was especially enjoyable, and the café at the bottom of the property next to the beach had good food and excellent service. There was an extensive spa on site next to the café that could accommodate multiple guests for massages, etc. One room in the spa on the second story looking out over the water can accommodate couples massages. We took advantage of that three times. The masseuses we had were excellent. If you stay in the buildings below the road toward the café and beach, you get free breakfast with your lodging. Most of the six days that we stayed there, breakfast was a help yourself buffet with lots of choices. They will also make you omelettes and pancakes if you ask. Very filling breakfasts in both Indonesian and western styles. Because it is a fairly large property that can accommodate a lot of guests, there are a lot of staff on the property always ready to answer questions and be helpful. The landscaping is beautiful and well-maintained. The pools were clean. There were beach chairs available on the beach. You can snorkel right off the beach, but because it is close to Amed the water was not very clean. We spent all of our beach time and snorkeling time around the corner at Jemeluk Beach (10 minute walk) and a little farther down the coast at Vienna Beach (10 minute drive). Along the road, both east and west of Hotel Kebun Wayan are an endless selection of restaurants, other lodging options, dive shops, and spas. You can get whatever you want within easy walking distance. Our favorite restaurant was Café Rimba in Amed proper across from the Majore hotel. We usually stay in smaller, family owned establishments, but we can highly recommend this establishment.

It’s hard to think of anything we didn’t like about the hotel, except the bed, which was pretty hard. We do like firm mattresses, but our bed was hard so that your hips were sore if you slept on your side for too many hours. One other complaint is that there was live music nearby on several of the nights that we stayed there and it was pretty loud. One time it was at the hotel’s own bar on the hill above our room. The next night it was at a beachside restaurant next-door. Both nights the music ended around 9:30 PM so it didn’t disturb our sleep too much.

The location is perfect for the snorkeling off the beach. And it’s an easy walk down the road to all the best restaurants in town. This was my second time staying here and I had a wonderful week. I love the staff and the restaurant on site was amazing too.

I had a great room but the WiFi was not working in it, and was not fixed during my stay. The WiFi around the rest of the property was great.
