I absolutely enjoyed staying at this hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, e.g., they helped me booking bus tickets and printing them. Aside from tgat they always had a smile on their face. The room was very comfortable and provided aircon, fridge, kettle, complimentary water/coffee/tea, safe. A hairdryer could be borrowed from the reception desk. The views from my room on the 11th floor were amazing. I especially liked the interior design. The hotel’s location was quite central with lots of restaurants, coffee shops and supermarkets nearby. I would come back in a heartbeat!

The room is small but the view over the city out the window was cool. They offered a good package for the waterfalls, mt. bromo and Mt. ijen which we ended up taking. It included all transport , accommodation in Ijen and ended with the ferry to Bali. it was intense to have these three attraction so close together but it saved us a whole day compared to our original planning.

One could see that the furniture was old, e.g. both mirrors in the room had many dark spots. The sink clogged after 1 night but the service fixed it when we mentioned it.

This hotel doesn't allow bicycles to be brought into room. I brought a folding bike with me. The manager and staff was being reasonable when they finaly allowed me to keep my bike with me in the room, with a condition to keep the room tidy. After seeing the room I can understand their concern. The corridor and half of the room was carpeted. Dirt and lubricant from bikes will ruined it. I hope in the futre they can revise their policy for bicycles. They provide two water dispensers on each floor in the cooridor. We can refill our room jug or our tumblers for free. Aircon was cold. Hot water shower and water pressure was good. Plenty of electrical outlet to use. We can borrow iron and ironing table if needed. There is an Indomaret minimarket across the street that is open 24h.

Buffet breakfast was terrible. Cold and hard rice (nasi uduk). Untasteful stir fried vegetables. Very dark tea (I diluted it wih hot water). Lift was slow. room service was not 24h.

The combination of everything (location, price, facilities, room, quality, food, breakfast) was great. Furthermore, I planned the Bromo tour myself and therefore missed the breakfast. However, the hotel prepared a super breakfast for me that I could pickup at the reception to bring to the Bromo around midnight.

There wete some stains on the towel and beddings. Nevertheless it was washed and smelled well, and this is common in the hotels and hostels I visited.

The hotel was very comfortable and clean. The room was a decent size and had nice views of Malang. There were a few food places within walking distance to get dinner. There was a massage place across the road which was amazing and great value for money! $11 NZD for 1 hour. We also did laundry which was $10 NZD for 1 bag which was a fair price.

The breakfast wasn’t our favourite. It caters more towards Indonesian food (which makes sense for where it is) but was hoping for more western options.

Very friendly staff. We booked only for one night and then we wanted to extend our stay. There were no free rooms, but as soon as the hotel got a cancellation from Another guest, the staff reached out to us and offered to stay one more night. We could stay in our room, so that was very comfortable! The breakfast is nice, very big choice of many different dishes.

The rooms are simple but fine. The room was very clean but they could organize new bed sheets/ towels since they look already old/ used.

The breakfast was okay. However, the bread (what they called baguette) in my opinion was not real bread. Because it was very brittle. In addition, I think they should provide the coffee machine, so that people could choose whether they want to have an espresso, cappuccino, or simply black coffee. They provided it, but people have to pay for this kind of coffee. I am sure they can improve these things. The location was quite strategic. Moreover, I like that they provide the reusable jug and the water to fill the jug in the corridor.

As I mentioned above: the bread and the coffee for breakfast. Another thing, I hope they can improve the room to be more quiet since I could hear people talking from the room next to mine.

The lady at the front desk whom I was in contact with over here was fantastic! She helped us book our Bromo and Ijen tour for a really good price and even on her day off still said she would be in touch if we needed anything. We had a room on the top floor which meant we had a lovely view of Malang. The room was a nice size and bed was comfortable.

They don’t offer bike rental, we were given contact info for a couple of companies but no one got back to us so it made getting around quite difficult. Bathroom could’ve been cleaner and our next door neighbours were banging on the walls.

Ibis Malang was better than other Ibis hotels I've stayed in. Room was clean, beds were comfy, hot water in the shower, cold and hot (kettle in room) drinking water provided. They also focus on sustainability. Staff was great. WiFi worked really well. I'd consider staying here if I drop by malang again!

We tried the massage service. It's in-room massages so no proper massage tables. Overall experience wasn't great.

Fall in love the moment i step into the facility. The reception lady was so nice. Booked a trip to Bromo from the hotel upon check in. View from my room was spectacular (room 1123). Highly Recommended.
