Was well built and nice design, but needs small improvements to be perfect.

The pool was dirty due the filter not working properly they said. Our main reason for stay is the pool as we have a small kid. Some recommendations, needs milk options for dairy free people, garden lights left on all night so rooms are lit up as no blackout blinds.

"Wow" was used often during our stay! The room is super clean and bright. The place makes you stay there. Really beautiful. They cleaned the room everyday during the stay.

Wifi in our room was poor... like no connection at all. We were on the 4G, but it works on the common area. Breakfast was very limited, with very small portions.

The huts are really beautiful and gardens very well maintained. Amazing view and location right on the seafront on what feels like a private beach. Perfectly between mushroom bay and jungutbatu beach away from the busyness but close to walk to. Just wish we’d known earlier in our stay about the little beach path that makes the property walking distance from the jungutbatu!

Small point but could have used a few more amenities like hairdryer in each room and refilling the shower gel. Also the picture of the bar on booking.com has spirits so we assumed they’d do poolside cocktails but only Bintang available when we were there.

Paus Putih was in a fabulous location, close to Mushroom bay and walking distance to lots of restaurants. You could get a boat directly out the front of the hotel to the surf breaks and beach access when tide was out. The menu in the restaurant was simple but tasty and all the staff from the Gardners and cleaners to the restaurant staff were so lovely and helpful.

Pool towels were hard to come by and our hot water kept going out, but the staff were quick to rectify the hot water once notified. A water cooler in the restaurant to refill water bottles would have been a nice touch to reduce plastic.

The hotel manager went above and beyond to relay a mobile phone to us after we left it behind at checkout. At low tide, we had already been relayed out to our ferry to Sanur so couldn't backtrack. The manager got to the harbour and then took a boat out to come alongside the ferry and personally hand back to us. The phone case had bank cards and a driver's licence tucked inside so its retrieval was very much appreciated. Ferry passengers gave a round of cheers! The restaurant bar area is great for children in the daytime as the fake grass area creates a small play area and a great nook for meals away from other guests' dining. Meals are basic and can be broken into an a la carte menu offering smaller dishes for kids. Just ask for French Fries or Icecream rather than buy a full meal. The gardens are lovely and some of the wooden boardwalk needs nailing down in places. There is a gardener in constant attendance if something is a little rickety. The location to Mushroom Bay is an easy walk though the road from the hotel to the main street is rough and unlit at night. The small pool is shallow, so lovely and warm to swim in but the wooden boards surrounding it get very hot. We had small children who couldn't walk on them, they just need more umbrellas or palm tree cover. The beds were comfy and the air conditioning nice and cool. The bathroom space is good, but the plumbing needs improving. If power on the island went out, a generator was immediately employed. Good wifi.

The private beach is very much tidal and small local boats are moored there so swimming might prove difficult. Shortcut access via the rock boardwalk is very slippery in places and would be dangerous to use at high tide. The staff are wonderful, but not everyone speaks English. The hotel would do well to create a Welcome book offering taxi numbers, bike hire, tour guide information, a la carte menu, and a general warning about the tides. A general guide book would help guests orientate quicker when realizing some access is limited.

The property had a real beach vibe. Whitewashed individual rooms, which were clean and in good condition. All around the property was old driftwood and coral to make it feel really rustic. The beach could only be used low tide as the water came right up to the wall of the property but the pool was lovely. The sun beds comfortable. Was quiet most of the day as everyone went off snorkelling or surfing. Good and drink available all day. You could walk to the restaurants in mushroom bay but the roads are dark and narrow so we chose a taxi which the hotel will call for you.

It could be quite noisy from the property next door in the mornings but we were up early anyway so it wasn’t too much of an issue.

The hotel gardens are absolutely beautiful and you are right in front of the ocean and during the high tide you can jump in. We had an ocean view room and it was right in front of the pool. The pool was nice too. The bungalows are very cute but basic, the room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. Fridge would have been a nice addition.

Unfortunately most of the places on the island have a bit of an issue with mould. Our first night in the room was quite uncomfortable due to the strong smell of mould. We realised the next day that it was coming from both bedside tables. Once they were removed, it was comfortable to sleep in. Unfortunately the mosquito net above the bed and the curtains had some mould stain too. We would have liked a better bar at the hotel serving nice cocktails that would have made hanging out at the pool nice. Which ever few items they had at the bar are quite overpriced and nothing special. I ordered a fresh juice and it tasted like water. You are better off going to some of the day clubs if you are after some nice drinks.

We absolutely loved the peace and quiet, rustic yet stylish cabanas, stunning views and beautiful service. It's a great place to stay with kids. We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was ever a problem for Johannes and his staff. We really liked that the villa is tucked away from the busier areas. We could watch the surf from the frontage, wander down the road for food at Mushroom Bay or simply relax and enjoy the meals at the villas.

The showers would sometimes lose hot water. No espresso coffee or alternative milk options. They were happy, though, to store the milk we purchased.

I had the most amazing views in the morning, and it overlooked the sea. The pictures are what it is in real life. The location was nice, and the hotel have their own in-house activities/tour you can easily arrange with them. The staff was amazing and helpful through out my stay.

The driver they arranged for me from DPS to Sanur port was blurred, but it is not their fault. My room was located next to the restaurant and check-in area. It can get a little noisy in the mornings if you are a light sleeper, but it's quiet at night.

The gardens and the beach huts were so magical to walk through, finishing up with the view of the turquoise waters - heaven! It was also so quiet and relaxing there, and close to get to different parts of the island to explore. And the staff was so lovely!!

Not much hot water (although wasn’t a big deal as a cool shower was what we needed most of the time!)
