The location is great, with less than 1-min walk to central Malioboro, a <10-min walk to the Vredeburg museum and Sonobudoyo museum, and a <20-min walk to the palace. The breakfast has a lot of varieties of local and Indonesian food. The staffs are courteous, friendly and helpful. The bed is big (I think it is wider than standard King size) and comfortable. The shower water flow is hot and strong. If your room is facing north, on clear days you can even see the volcano Merapi! The price is also very reasonable (<US$70 per night including everything) considering what they offer.

The room facilities are a bit old and not as nice as you would expect of a 4-star hotel, although they are functioning well. However, given its price and other advantages, this drawback is not a big deal to us. It is not a place for enjoying a luxurious vacation, but excellent for those who just need a decent base to rest and explore Yogyakarta.

Good facilities,the room is very clean,the service was excelent all the staff were so friendly ..the breakfast was average but theres lots of variety of food from western to local food...main thing that i like the most the location is very close to main street of MALIOBORO ABOUT 1 minute walk 50 meters walk...

Parking lot is to small...valley service is to long..we need to wait 10-15 minutes to get our car out...the acces to the hotel is to packed....

Staff friendliness, exceptional location (1min from malioboro street), with parking available (quite useful in the area!). Good choice for the buffet breakfast (mostly asian dishes on top of the usual fruits/pastries and also very good wafles and "pukis"), and decent menu & prices for the restaurant in case you need it

The swimming pool is in the shade but open to the outside so it's quite cold and mosquitoes have a feast on you when you sit around (but obviously you don't go to yogya for the pool so it's not such a big deal).

Good location to Malioboro however very busy with people, cars etc. It will take time just to get to the hotel due to traffic. It does not suitable for people who want quite peacfull holiday place. This hotel maybe good for people doing conference/business

No balcony so not really have fresh air feel trap inside room

One of our best experience with hotels in Indonesia Location next to the famous street is supurb Staffs were very friendly and respectful Room service including the restaurant meal delivered in your room in very fair price was really a good experience if you were tired of going out

Perhaps not in hotel control but too many families with kids in the pool we didn't get the chance to use pool No hand towels appears to be in indonesian hospitality business

The location is perfect.

About the room's door. It seems they installed the hydraulic door closer upside down. We have to put a little bit of force to open the door, and then if we let the door close, it will slam the door. Also, the shower room is too small. They should put a curtain or something so it won't wet the whole toilet area.

Location is unbeatable, just on the side of the busy Malioboro street and within short walking distance to the main train station of Yogyakarta. Despite our short stay, the property left us with good impression. Staffs were very helpful, helping us with our luggage while waiting for check-in time and access to the swimming pool which was gorgeous. Our room was on the small side, but it was equipped with a very comfortable bed. I would definitely like to try a longer stay with El Royale next time I have the opportunity to visit Indonesia and Yogyakarta again.

Couldn't say much as we only stayed for around 12 hours after missing our morning train. A bit of disappointment was probably there were many sold-out items on the menu of their pool bar when we were lounging there during lunch hour. Hopefully I'd get luckier next time cause their menu looked good.

Location is superb, especially if you're going to explore Malioboro area. It's quite as well. Room was clean although size is average. Most hotel staffs are friendly, helpful and well groomed too.

Breakfast was just okay. The roast potato was too tough/hard. Could do with a bit more protein choices along the rice

The staffs are very friendly and helpful, the king bed is comfy and spacious enough for family

The towel cleanliness can be improve, limited parking slot, but they provide free valet service.
