Breakfast need improvement in-terms of variety selection. I was expecting better menu compared to Neo hotel, but I was wrong. They are identical :( some of the utensils not cleaned properly and there are flies and dust at the balcony. I know it might be challenging to keep it dust free since the outdoor seating area is facing the road and busy train station, but table, table mat and chairs can be cleaned more often before next dinner.

Everything is perfect!! 1. Got hairdryer!!!! 2. Pillow, bedsheet and mattress all are very clean and smell nice!! 3. The staffs are sooooooooo friendly and attentive to your requests!! Even the guard willing to run around running you an errand!! How cool and polite is that!! 4. They will buzz you up regarding your room service if you don't request for it for 2 straight days. 5. Room temperature is just right. 6. Gym, bar and spa are perfect!! The views are amazing!!!! 7. They have water dispensers on each floor!! 8. Where can you find a hotel with complimentary drinks everyday?!? Only in Royal Malioboro!! Hot tea and herbal tea everyday!! After your hangover just go downstairs and get their remedial herbal tea and you are good to go😁

Just a small hiccup i guess, sauna and locker room at the pool.

I would like to start by saying that the hotel itself has a wonderful location. Stasiun Yogyakarta is easily accessible, and Malioboro Street is very close to it, making it an easy walk for us. There is also a convenient store, a restaurant, and a gift shop located right across the hotel. Breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety of options to choose from traditional menu to continental.

When we order room service, the food arrives more than an hour later, it is way too long for us to wait for the food.

The hotel is close to Malioboro street (obviously) and in front of the train station, which is a plus for getting to Prambanan or Malang. The staff is nice and helpful, the room is modern and large with a comfy bed. The soundproof is ok considering the country standards. The restaurant food was also good! Also free water refill in the hallway so it’s a nice gesture to avoid plastic bottles.

No warm water but normal for Indonesia :)

The location was very strategic for us, near the train station. We got a room upgrade and we loved it: extra spacious with king size bed. Staff was extremely helpful. Breakfast was delicious, traditional Indonesian. We will for sure consider this hotel again in a future trip, thank you!

Sometimes a bit noisy from the train station street but we could sleep without any problem.

I loved the breakfast a lot, because they had many choices. The hotel room was clean and spacious. I think it is good value for money.

It is not a complaint, but promote the swimming pool more. I did not know there was a swimming pool, because it is not on the pictures and not on the facilities in booking.com. I loved the swimming pool, and I think more people would book if they know the hotel has a swimming pool. Room was not ready at check in time, but that is a minor detail.

We choose Royal Malioboro for its location near the main train station and just around the corner from the Main Street and tourist area and it did not disappoint in any way, arriving to smiling staff on reception who couldn’t do enough to help. We were travelling in a group of four my wife and I and two teenage grandchildren, we had booked a double and twin rooms and had requested close by. Both rooms were great. All the previous hotels we had been staying in the hand sink was outside to shower/toilet in the bedroom area here they were all one, which was a plus for us. The inclusive breakfast was superb eggs cooked the way you like them, good Indonesian as well and a very big plus for me a great espresso machine. I would rate the Royal Maliobro as one of the top 10 of all the hotels I have stayed at over the past 50 years of travelling the world. The Noodle Bar /restaurant attached to the hotel next door is good

Only a slight gripe, the Royal and its sister hotel are joined together and to get to the swimming pool is a bit of an expedition trying to find the way, better signage would help considerably.

Being a new hotel, everything was so clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was amazing, with a big selection of gluten-free options. The swimming pool was well-maintained, with a great view of Merapi when the sky was clear. The staff members were polite and friendly.

Nothing. The outside noise is beyond their control and considering all the positive aspects of our stay, the train station noise added to the true Yogya experience.

My mom and I had a really nice stay at this hotel. The breakfast was good – a lot of variety and many tables to sit at. The rooms were cozy and comfortable too. The bathroom was great; not too small and a nice shower area. Lastly, I appreciate how there is a water dispenser outside the room; we can easily refill our water bottles without having to call reception to replace the water supply.

Staying in Malioboro is such a hassle. It was very hard to get home at night due to traffic and regulations. On another note, I was surprised you could watch Netflix and Youtube on TV – I thought it was cool at first. But I'm concerned about privacy issues. I logged onto Netflix with the TV and the next day, I could not access my Netflix account. I had to change my Netflix password. So I would recommend just lightly browsing Youtube (without logging in) and the TV channels.
