Lift to our room on the 4th floor. Nice breakfasts catering for all tastes. We were quite happy with the juice, cereals and toast. But not the coffee, I guess it was an instant variety.

The steps from the street are too steep for an older person. I.E the step riser is uncomfortably large. and the handrail somewhat less than adequate being polished chrome and slippery when wet. It would also appear that these steps are the major way out should there be an emergency evacuation, especially if it occured at dinner time due say to a fire in the kitchens. If that happened I would not be surprised if some guests fell or got pushed over in the rush to exit resulting in broken bones or more serious injuries. I suggest that the hotel get advice from the IOM Fire and Rescue Service.

Handy for the ferry and for traveling to other towns. The three day travel pass is a great idea and it would have been good to get that information from staff and maybe some leaflets about places of interest. It was good having the lift. Nice clean friendly hotel. Plenty of choice at breakfast . Only dined in once but nice carvery. Many hotels now have the reuse of towels which makes a lot of sense.

Not so much 'dislikes' but might annoy some people. We were right above the extractor fan. To be fair once it starts it's not that big a deal. Just when it starts up.

Didn't need to book a time for breakfast. It was 7am-9am and always plenty available. Could store luggage when we had to check out before 11am and ferry was not until 7.45pm.

Lift was very tiny! Didn't affect us much as was able to use stairs but if less abled guests wanted to use it at busy times there was a wait. Bed in our room...304...seemed to have a dip to one side and my boyfriend couldn't sleep well first night. I swapped to that side and it was ok but did wake up nearly coming out of the bed.

Great location, traditional hotel, big room, excellent breakfast, all staff were very professional and friendly

The room could have been cleaned better (some bits on the floors) and the bathroom in the room looked a bit tired and could do with some renovation work

The hotel is in a perfect area , close to any location you want to go. It was clean, staff were very polite, friendly and helpful, breakfast was nice.

The time of breakfast, 7-9 is a bit early when you are on holiday.

We were luck enough to be given a front seaview room, room very large and lovely big bathroom with bathtub - all very clean and well presented. Excellent location right on the promenade about 10 mins walk from Douglas main town and with local bars, restaurants and shops nearby. In May we had no issue parking on the road out front. Excellent breakfast. The beds and fold out sofa bed were very comfortable.

we booked a double room but the 'double' bed was actually two singles pushed together with single duvets. we used the restaurant once for evening meal and food was average at best

Had a spacious room facing the prominade on the second floor. Great views and great space. Lots of storage in the room. Room was warm and very well serviced. Enjoyed the tea/coffee station which was replenished each day. Room had a sofa and seating area. 'En suite' Bathroom was modern and very spacious. Hotel food was good - aimed at the bus groups that used the hotel. Breakfast was buffet style with all kinds of options for every kind of diet. Breakfast hot food from the kitchen is worth exploring. Dining room staff were helpful and kind. Desk staff were very helpful and well-informed. There is a small lift for those who wish to avoid the various stairs and it was well used and centrally located. Hotel stay was excellent value in a great location. Within easy reach of the local Douglas tourist highlights. Highly recommended.

Hotel could be busy at times when the bus tour guests arrived or were leaving. During my stay, there were only a few of us independent travellers so we were seated seperately and formed a cheery group.

Staff excellent, room servicing excellent, front desk staff excellent, helpful over and above what one would normally expect. Food very good, perhaps being picky, the veg was generally a little overcooked, meat and sweets very good. All restaurant staff very helpful and extremely efficient, breakfast choices excellent. All restaurant table settings excellent, with fresh linen at every change of occupancy. Room at back of hotel, no issue, however, noise from kitchen ventilations intrusive . Room very hot, no air conditioning, conversations heard from adjacent rooms, maybe via open adjacent windows. I would definitely stay again but in a different room at the front of the hotel. Good value for money.

Very Hot room. Steep steps with quite high risers, not easy for us older folk, from pavement level to the entrance. Good handrails however, either side of the steps.
