I had a fantastic stay at The Herbert. The location is absolutely unbeatable. Right on the sea front and within walking distance to all major attractions. Old Jaffa is a 30 minute walk or so, Dizengoff St and Carmel Market are 15-20 minutes. The staff at the hotel were courteous and friendly throughout my entire stay. Nothing was too much trouble. They even provide free coffee and biscuits in the reception area which was a lovely touch. The housekeeping staff were also very friendly and kept the room absolutely spotless. I opted for a room with a balcony and the view was absolutely incredible. The balcony looked right on to the sea and was lovely to sit on in the evening. The rooms are quite small but it was fine for me as a solo traveller. The bed was very comfortable and the room contained lots of nice touches including a coffee machine, free bottled water and tv with a range of international channels. All in all, I had an excellent stay.

-There were some issues with maintenance that I wouldn’t expect in a hotel at this price point: a hole in the ceiling where the tiles did not fully fit together, the tiles on the balcony were dirty and had many marks/dents, there was a small hole in the floor at the balcony door. -The arrangement of the bathroom was awkward. The toilet is inside the shower which meant the toilet paper got wet every time I ran the shower.

Budget hotel with all what you need. Perfect price and value ratio. Rooms: Very small but you have everything. Clean and new. Comfortable beds and pillows. Very good air conditions. 55" led tv. Regular cleaning. You can ask for slippers and towels for beach and room from the reception. Location: 50 meters to the Jarussalem beach. That close you can go barefoot from hotel to the beach without any problem. Also close to the carmel market region where you can find many bars and restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast: Just across they have partner hotel (same chain I guess) and you need to go there for breakfast. But it worths because the breakfast is perfect as their partner is kind of a luxurious hotel. Hotel Staff: The best part is this. They are very friendly and helpful. Whatever you need they are ready to help anytime. It is fun to have chat with them also. Others: You can use the pool at their partner hotel. I saw it from distance and did not look attractive when you have all the nice sea infront. At the lobby they serve free coffee, fruits and water at any time. You can ask for bottle water also for room or take away. If I come to Tel Aviv I will definitely stay in the same hotel.

The room was lovely, small but perfect and the patio was awesome with a great sea view. The bed was comfy, shower was fantastic, towels were soft as were the sheets and everything was super clean. You simply cannot beat this location: steps from the beach, markets right there and you can walk to everywhere so easily. Was always easy to find a Lime scooter every time we wanted one. The breakfast across the street was awesome as was the coffee downstairs at the Hubert. The daytime staff were above and beyond friendly and helpful.

The raw sewage smell in the halls and in the lobby was overpowering, not sure if it was because of the construction or because the hotel itself is on the older side. The room was across from the maid's closet so there was constant clutter in front of our room that we had to move: ironing board and iron, a huge glass mirror, maid cart, etc. The night staff were not friendly at all, when we would go to the bar, we were met with "what do you want?" instead of 'what can I get you?', the tone was a bit on the rough side.

The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are nice and clean, the bathrooms are well designed, and the breakfast at the hotel opposite is phenomenal. The sea views are wonderful, the beach is a stone's throw away, and local shops are nearby. On arrival we could not find the fridge in our room, we pointed this out to reception. A few minutes later the staff suddenly appeared at our door with a small fridge. :D So feel free to ask! And there's something you don't even have to ask for: if you're going to the sea, the reception will give you a beach towel and a bottle of mineral water.

I think the check-in and check-out times were incorrectly listed on this site, which was an unpleasant surprise on arrival as our room was not yet ready. The bathroom was a little too big for the size of the room, with a narrow strip just at the end of the bed for access.

Small hotel with a relaxed atmosphere and great service. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. We checked in during the early hours but everything was ready for us and the room keys prepared- we were in our room within 5 minutes of arrival. Housekeeping was exceptional. The location of the hotel is fantastic- opposite the beach but within a very short walk of shops, restuarants and the Carmel market. Equal distance from Jaffa and the old port in either direction along the promenade. A nice foyer/bar with comfy seating was a good spot for a drink and relax. The WiFI was wholly reliable and quick. Mini firdge in the room was welcome (and would be a huge plus in high summer).

There are no lifts. We coped without an issue (the hotel only has 3 floors), but if you mobility is limited then this might be an issue. The rooms are small- not unusually so for a city centre hotel and we have paid more for smaller. However, there was very limited hanging space and no drawers, so we lived out of suitcases for a week which was not great but on balance was far outweighed by the positives

The location is amazing! Across the street to a beautiful beach, shops, and restaurants. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Especially Nadir. The lobby is very cute, modern, and cozy. I like the feel of this hotel better than the Herbert Samuel Opera because it is more boutique. Rooms are very cute and clean.

Rooms are small and don’t have a lot of storage. Bathrooms are small. There is no elevator so we had to walk up the stairs a lot. However, The staff does carry your luggage up.

The hotel is just next to the beach. There are some good restaurants and ice-cream shops around or you can walk in 1 hour up the beach to old jaffa. Also, carmel marked can be reached by foot. The hotel is good value for money, the staff is very friendly and forthcoming. Breakfast is next door with large options of food. Free Coffee and tea was provided. We even got a free upgrade with a room onto the seaside and the extra blanket we asked for was provided.

The room was small, the bathroom was tiny, i mean the shower and toilet were basically cramped together into one tiny space. About the cleanlyness: There was a drawer with coffee, if you tood the drawer completely out, there were 2 used, dirty spoons behind it. Also, there was a large, wet stain on the linen, when we were going to bed.

The room was rather small but still acceptably sized and perfectly clean. The bed was very comfortable, and the view of the sea is amazing. All staff members of the hotel were very kind and ready to help. The breakfast has been provided in the Hotel Opera Herbert on the other side of the street (30m walk, no traffic), and it exceeded our expectations. No meat has been served, but there were fishes, salads, eggs, cheeses, and also some other food like shakshuka and pasta to choose from.

There is no elevator in the building, so reaching the rooms on the higher levels may require some fitness.

June 2022

The location of this hotel is fabulous. It's in the central part of Tel-Aviv—right across the street from Jerusalem beach. We walked virtually all over Tel-Aviv from this hotel. It was a great starting point. The included breakfast was across the street at the sister hotel. The breakfast buffet was very nice. One morning, our tour was starting before breakfast was open, so they arranged to have some boxed breakfasts waiting for us. That was very nice. Also, our flight was delayed for 12 hours, so the hotel allowed us to extend our stay for a very modest fee. That staff is very accommodating and appeared to be genuinely appreciative that we stayed there.

At the time of our stay (late June 2022), there was major construction happening outside the hotel on Allenby Street. The hotel manager said they expect this to be completed in September. The construction closed the hotel for three months earlier in the year because they had to cut water and power to the building. Once the construction is complete, the street will turn into a pedestrian plaza with a fountain. The renderings look very nice. Also, the bathroom in our room was VERY small. In fact, the toilet was in the shower. There was not much room to maneuver. There is also no elevator in the hotel, so you'll either need to be prepared to carry your luggage up a couple flights of stairs or wait until there is a bellman available to assist you.
