We stayed the first night in a very basic room which we had reserved in the booking but we kindly got upgraded to a bigger room with a lovely mountain view balcony, which was really great of Barbara at the front desk. Breakfast was simple with the basics. The coffee machine serves coffee already sweetened which isn't ideal but they can make other coffee barista style for you if you ask. Location was fantastic and parking was so easy right outside the hotel. The restaurant also gives the hotel a nice buzz. Front desk staff were all super nice, accommodating and friendly in every aspect. I'm glad I chose this hotel. After a long day, it's really easy to walk back to the hotel and not too strenuous, so I would recommend to not stay any further from the town for this reason considering that Cala Gonone is on a hill.

Breakfast could have had more variety of fruit

It is a really nice and quiet hotel. We got a rooftop sea view family room. The room , the balcony are really spacy. Very clan room and enough space. The wifi is with good. The view is amazing and you can enjoy the sun raise or afternoon drink :) The stuff is really helping and friendly. The dinner is really authentic and delicious - do not waist time to search for another restaurant - after being in so many other restaurants in Sardinia- I can say that this is the most delicious and prepared with love food. The swimming pool is nice to relax after the long trip / boat trip

Hotel La Playa was a lovely family run ‘boutique’ hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We had a family room with sea view and it was just perfect. Plenty of space for the four of us and wonderful views of the coastline. The breakfast was good, a small selection of sweet and savoury but had everything we wanted. Great location on the edge of Cala Gonone but only a short walk to the bars, restaurants and shops. The pool area was small but again perfect for our needs. Would highly recommend!

The cleaner turned off the aircon unit on a couple of occasions which meant the room was extremely hot on our return to the hotel.

Super staff, very friendly and helpful. The in-house restaurant was good, delicious food and decent prices. The room was very comfortable, good aircon, and the cleaning was thorough. Good location if you like it quiet (we slept really well) and still only a 5-10 min walk to the city centre. Easy check-in and communication prior to arrival.

The breakfast was fine but nothing special, it would have been much elevated for me if the plain yoghurt was available every morning and adding some vegetables and other savoury things as well, for those who don't want a super-sweet breakfast, as there were a lot of cakes:) The facilities were a little worn, especially the pool area, but it was still functional and clean, which is the most important.

hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was spotless and looked like had recently been renovated. we had dinner which was superb and the breakfast had something for everyone.

The rooms were not soundproof. we heard the client the room beside us peeing at night . also the room I. the other side has two guests and we could hear every drop of the shower and the hairdryer could have been in our room.. we also heard them talking!

We had a lovely stay for our honeymoon for two nights, breakfast included was incredible, home made cakes, fruits, pastries, eggs, salami, cereal and yogurt. We also had dinner and the pasta was amazing. Lovey family run business, just a 5 min walk to town so perfect and a little more quiet. Comfy beds, and nice pool.

1 minor issue we had was with our air-con twice but once mentioned to the hotel staff it was fixed within 5 minutes and back to its full potential.

Hotel La Playa was perfect for our stay at Cala Gonone. Staff cannot be kinder, location is super, less than 10 minutes walking to center and port. Swimming pool, although on the small side, was great. All surrounded by beautiful flower bushes. Breakfast was continental and delicious! I will definitely come back.

Very close to town and beach. No reserved parking but we were able to park on a roadside opposite several times. The male receptionist was very helpful when there were extra towels and a bulb were needed for the room. Clean. Nice area for breakfast. Quiet.

Not a picturesque location, development ongoing.

The staff are superb; very welcoming and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. The dinners in the restaurant were great - quality ingredients cooked well. The whole hotel is very clean and tidy. Location is good, just a 5 minute walk to the beach.

The pillows were a little uncomfortable for me (maybe fine for others). That's all I can think of 😁

Good breakfast, clean room, friendly staff. Highly recommend to have dinner at the hotel restaurant. They prepare excellent food, much better then in city and price very good. Many thanks for the perfect dinner!!! 5 min by foot to reach city centre, beach 15 min.
