Good location. Rooms spacious and very clean.

Paying for spa service was extremely difficult. They do not take payment at the time of service and instead provide you with a time to make payment to a women at the front desk. the woman at the desk then in turn acts as if she is doing you a favor by taking your payment. All very strange!

The staff were lovely and accommodating. The decor and the surroundings were really well looked after and room was comfortable and very clean. Food was mostly good. behind this choice.

The one issue that I have which means I would never return, is that they make wearing swimming caps in the swimming pools compulsory. This annoyed me and I wish that they had made this clear when booking. I’ve never seen this before and I would be interested to know the science behind this choice. Surely it is the individual’s choice as to whether they want to swim in a public swimming pool. There are much worse germs than a bit of dandruff.

The hotel is a bit old, still beautiful, it has a very nice garden, it was a pleasure waking up every morning looking at this beautiful garden and the surrounds. The room is big enough, comfortable, we had a nice terrace, but there was no electric kettle. The staff was very nice, always with a smile on the face. The spa was fine, although rather small, and because of that, you have to make reservation to acces it. Because is not very big, the hotel offers a cosy atmosphere. Thank you for everything! The bathroom was small and the plumming was not great. The breakfast was repetitive, same thing every day, aside from pastries which were diverse and tasty.

This is a lovely hotel to stay in and has a number of warm and cold pools. The rooms are comfortable and have a view of the sea and the Aragonese Castle, which is lovely to gaze at. I was there off season, so it was a bit chilly, but I still enjoyed swimming in the indoor thermal pool and the slightly heated outdoor pool. The staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and to attend to my special requests, even finding me gluten free bread to eat, which I really appreciated. Speaking of food, their breakfast spread is divine, with all sorts of pastries, cold cuts, yogurt, eggs, cereals and even coconut and rice milk, which is exceedingly hard to find while traveling. I appreciated all of these details and plan to return to Ischia.

You have to make a reservation for the indoor thermal pool which is in a different place than the 2 outdoor pools, so you can't exactly hop in and out of one to the other. Also, if you want to use the steam room and sauna, you have to make a separate reservation. So that is a little bit annoying. Also the indoor thermal pool is not really hot like you'd get at a hot spring or in a jacuzzi. Also, the hotel is about a 15 min walk from the center and is only close to 1-2 restaurants, so it's somewhat inconvenient for those without wheels.

The room was huge, bright with a balcony with great views over the pool and complex. Our cleaning lady was so lovely. She was always pleasant, smiley and tried to help with my Italian. The whole hotel is spotless. The 4 course meals were exceptional. The pool is beautiful. With a small jacuzzi and water massage fountain. Plenty of loungers and umbrellas for everyone, the grounds have beautiful gardens with gorgeous gazebos dotted around . There's a spa and another pool also. Waiting staff were so friendly and nothing is a bother to them. The staff in reception were so helpful and patient. My husband got help from one man in particular to suprise me with flowers for our anniversary. He did an exceptional job to order us the most gorgeous bouquet and have them on my table when we arrived for dinner. Cant remember his name, but thankyou. Throughout the hotel everything and eveyone were very professional and classy yet managed to keep a relaxed and laid back vibe. The location of the hotel is fantastic. It's only a 20 min slow walk to the port . Bus stops outside hotel if you don't want to walk. I must say though the walk is lovely with little shops and restaurants enroute. We will definitely return and recommend to anyone wanting to visit this amazing island. Thank you again everyone for our fantastic holiday.

Unfortunately I didn't like the fact its an animal friendly hotel. I love animals thats why I found it distressing hearing the dogs barking during the day when the owners were out. In our room in particular we could here a dog bark all day. So if you wanted an afternoon nap forget it. Due to the lack of sound proofing it would have been impossible. Felt sorry for the animals if I'm being honest. So really didn't like that the only downside.

We had a lovely 4 night stay at the Hermitage. We were made to feel very welcome and the assistance that Marco (on reception) gave to us was exceptional - he is so helpful and made us feel so welcome. He made our stay run smoothly. All staff were helpful. The hotel is very comfortable, beds and linen are lovely. We enjoyed the thermal pool and watching the football on the big screen. The breakfasts are excellent and my family loved them. It’s a 10 -15 minute walk to restaurants and about 18 mins to the castle. We took advantage of the shuttle bus to the beach. Thank you Hermitage. The castle was lovely and we also enjoyed meals at coco mare by the castle, and the steakhouse on the walk down towards the castle.

Nil to note.

The views were stunning! Staff were very friendly and always willing to help. The pool was a good size and temperature. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful with lots of places to lounge if you didn't want to sit by the pool. Location was great, just a short walk to the main town / restaurants/ supermarket etc.

The spa only opened between 9am - 1pm and 4 - 7pm (approx). Which meant you couldn't visit in the middle of the day even to use the indoor pool. We played tennis but the court was not in great condition and the equipment we payed to hire was also not in good condition.

Lovely hotel with nice pools. Quiet at the pools - esp the lower one, which was so nice to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. Rooms basic but nothing that deems them as bad. View from room was better than we were expecting as had full sea view. Breakfast was ok, could be improved but enough to satisfy. Lovely older gentlemen who works on front desk is exceptionally helpful (sorry rubbish with names). Spa area is a nice addition and we booked in twice which is included in the price at the end of each day.

Cost of food and drinks within the hotel was high, especially at the pool bar, shame as it made us go elsewhere.

One word - fantastic. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. The hotel is beautiful, with gorgeous gardens, stunning pools and incredible views. Everything was immaculately clean, the rooms were a great size and we opted for a sea view (with balcony) which was totally worth it. On arrival we also got complimentary virgin pina coladas and biscuits which was a lovely touch. The range of food for breakfast was outstanding and there was even a barista there for coffees. Location wise it was about a 20 minute walk to the port and maybe a 15 minute walk to Ischia town, we walked it but there were lots of taxis about and the bus system is fantastic on the island. We also got a bus to Spaggia di San Montano which is a lovely beach and was so simple getting there by bus. There are loads of great restaurants in town and would recommend a walk around the castle as it has spectacular views. Also a note for non Italian travellers, it’s compulsory to wear a swim hat in the pools which you can purchase at reception or a lot of people used the shower caps from the room.

Nothing. Wished we had stayed for longer.

This was my second visit to this Hotel. I really like it. The location is super - a short walk to the Castello, an easy (20 min) walk to the port and to the buses. The breakfast is insane and there are lovely views to enjoy whilst you indulge. I was only here a couple of nights this time and in a single room but I would recommend you book a room with a view over the garden/towards the Castle - my room this time was on the other side and had a view over another hotel (which was less nice).

I should have specified which side I wanted my room to be on. I didn't use the minibar (never do) but was charged for two drinks - I had to challenge this and in the end wasn't charged.
