The Hotel Villa Edera is an exceptional place to stay. I could not rate it highly enough. The location was convenient for arrival by train along the Cinque du Terre route with a few minutes walk to the centre of Moneglia and the beach. The family and staff are exceptional and the design and decor of the hotel is perfect. We enjoyed breakfast (the best breakfast, just delicious) and some fabulous meals at the bistro (unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked well in advance so we were unable to eat there - next time though!) Look out for resident cat and dog very friendly.

everything was perfect - thank you team

If you are a walker or plan to explore the wider area, Villa Edera is ideally situated for the train station. It is just a few minutes walk downhill or you can take their wonderful private lift, especially helpful if you have luggage. It is also just a short walk into the town centre and the beach if you wish to swim or dine or both. The hotel is well decorated and the housekeeping is excellent.

I hadn't realised that payment would be made direct to the hotel and was surprised to receive a demand from them for payment 18 days before we were due to arrive - Booking.com advised payment from 14 days. This caused some confusion as I thought it may be a scam. I dropped a line to Booking.com but they failed to get back to me before I have received a second demand. I had thought that payment would be made automatically through Booking.com and was worried about paying twice or being defrauded. I did contact the hotel but simply they reiterated their demand for payment. This was not helpful.

This property is an absolute dream come true. I was amazed when we arrived—it not only matched the online pictures but actually exceeded our expectations in terms of location, aesthetics, and the incredible staff (who are true GEMS). The setting is so picturesque it feels like a movie set. The breakfast was fantastic, featuring apple croissants that will now live in my dreams forever, and coffee that was simply unbeatable. The pool is stunning, surrounded by hanging grapes and a beautiful garden that made everything feel even more magical. The rooms are uniquely designed, each with a charming name that reflects its inspiration, and they’re well-stocked with everything you could need. The reserved beach chairs added a special touch to an already perfect experience. The staff were all wonderful, but Michelangelo and Barbara truly made this trip an 11/10. We felt completely at home and were so sad to leave. I never expected to fall in love with a small Italian coastal town so much! If I ever find myself back on the Italian coast (fingers crossed), I will definitely be staying here again.

A fabulous boutique hotel - tranquil after the hustle of Milan - fabulous attentive staff without being intrusive - and benefit of fabulous food both in the restaurant and the Bistro - great location for train to Cinque Terre - we wished we stayed longer

We loved our three day break to this lovely family run hotel which was so conveniently located near the station, the village, beach and of course the beautiful Cinque Terre region. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we were able to check in early. Our room was bright and very tastefully decorated with large balcony overlooking the mountain and the gorgeous outdoor pool. The bed was really comfortable.Breakfast was served in the lovely garden and terrace outside and there was a large choice of eggs cheese ham pastries fruit and cereals. The home made yoghurt was particularly delicious. We hope to return to this little oasis of calm sometime and can strongly recommend it as a base to visit the Cinque Terre region.

Shower over bath tub tended to leak on to floor. Tea and coffee making facility in the room would be nice but I was kindly given a small kettle on request thank you.

Breakfast was brilliant - served by really pleasant staff. Lift from station to hotel very welcome...it's so handy for the train so no need for a car if you simply want to travel by train and bus. Moneglia really pleaseant. And what a restaurant - what a treat to find a Michelin restaurant which was amazine plus all the staff and the owner are a delight - so friendly and helpful.

Can't think of anything

Given room upgrade on arrival which was much appreciated. We had a good sized room with a huge private terrace and large modern bathroom.Breakfast on the terrace was delicious and served in a timely manner. We ate both in the Bistro and the Michelin starred restaurant , food in both excellent. Pool was clean and there were plenty of sunny and shaded areas around. Staff were very helpful throughout our stay. Easy access to hotel from station , so good to visit other areas by train.

We could have done with a chest of drawers in our bedroom for storage. There were a couple of free drawers in a chest in the bathroom which we used but it was not ideal for access. Other than this no complaints

Superbly lovely people. Moneglia itself is great. The staff throughout were lovely. Make an effort to chat to the owners. Incredibly helpful and friendly welcome …. I arrived by bike. The pool area was good, views great and personally the sounds of the trains coming by I found comforting. Perhaps in part as ‘train’ as my way out for the bike having cycled down in such steep roads. The breakfast was excellent and a very pleasant setting for evening drinks. The other guests were pleasant people too and the rooms great and well thought through. Good WiFi A most enjoyable stay and a place I would happily return to and look forward to, for longer

All was extremely good

The staff are wonderful and the breakfast and lunch if you choose to have, amazing. Gorgeous pool and a place where you really can go and super relax. Has a beautiful family run feel about the place which adds to the feeling of attentiveness.

Our otherwise lovely suite didn’t have a shower but a big bath … not a problem for a few days but for longer bit of a pain and worth a change I think.

Breakfast was great, but a lot of things were not available at buffett and had to be ordered at a woman who didn't speak very well English.

The shower didn't get hot sometimes. It was a bit weird that we didn't get the WIFI access automatically at checkin and no one picked up the phone, had to go to the reception.
