Great location inside the wall of Montepulciano. I personally enjoy the old style Italian hotels and this one did not disappoint. Large room with a large balcony overlooking the surrounding valley. The balcony had a table with chairs to enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings. Sunrise was amazing. The view from the room, coupled with the balcony, just idyllic - the best in Tuscany. The room was large, as well as the bathroom. The staff was most helpful and gracious. Being that this hotel is centuries old it does not have an elevator yet the staff helped with the luggage even when we said we were fine carrying it ourselves. The hotel was very clean and our room was spotless every day. The breakfast offered all sorts of choices. Once they asked how we wanted our eggs, coffee, etc., the following days they asked if we wanted the same order. What service!! The buffet offered great choices of various cheeses, salami, ham, mortadella, breads, croissants, sweets, fruits, and so much more. We enjoyed the chocolate croissants and the fruit tarts. Added 2 photographs from our room balcony and the sunrise. Just beautiful. Also a photograph from the entrance to the old walled city of Montepulciano and the hotel is about 100 meters from it.

We only spent 5 days in Montepulciano and unfortunately could not stay longer. Parking can become an issue during the high season but during our December stay, we had no issues finding a spot in the large parking area a few steps away from the hotel.

Our booking was not made correctly(instead of one person per room, it was booked two people per room), the hotel owner took time and changed the booking at the time of check-in, so that we don't need to pay too much, which we found very honest and very kind of the owner. The room was quiet and nice, the breakfast was also very good.

The parking was difficult to find(because it is very near from the resident parking and a little bit confusing) and there were not always spaces but the hotel staff came with us to the parking and found a solution for us and helped us out.

I can’t say enough about this place! So much character, so much charm, so much history! Staff went above and beyond to get us reservations, and point us to the right wineries, etc. We loved everything about it!

I don’t like that people complain and no elevator or that it’s dated, etc. Go to another town! If you have mobility issues and can’t do stairs, this isn’t your place, but it is iconic and they are happy to help with bags if needed. Loved it and are grateful! Thank you!

Fantastic location. Was able to drive in and drop off the bags and then park for free in a designated parking area, just needed to provide your licence plate number to reception. Breakfast room was lovely and good coffee and cooked breakfast supplied. The staff were friendly but feel they could have been short staffed as it took some time to clear the tables. Our room had a lovely view down to the main street but with the windows shut the room was very quiet.

Their is no lift in this building so if you have problems carrying suitcases up 3 flights of stairs ask for a lower level room. The pillows were hard.

The hotel is well-situated at the bottom of the hill near the entrance to the town. Our room was comfortable and the air conditioning was great. The balcony afforded a nice view. The breakfast was wonderful, with lots of choices including fresh fruit, pastries, breads for toast, meats and cheeses, eggs cooked to order, juice, coffee and many others.

There is no elevator, but they did have someone to help us get our luggage up to our room.

Beautiful historic building in the centre of Montepulciano. The view of the tuscan countryside from the balcony was out of the world. The staff were amazing best we've ever encountered. George was super friendly and Enrica went above and beyond for us with amazing recommendations and even reserving us tours and tables for dinner. Could not recommend this place enough. Thank you for the best stay ever.

Everything was amazing

The staff (especially Enrica) was absolutely incredible - very helpful and welcoming, especially when helping us deal with parking in the city. We had to shift hotels early in our stay, and we're very glad we stayed at here. The hotel was in a very walkable location, both to the older walled city and outside to more casual restaurants and bars. We also had an amazing view of the countryside from our room.

Location was great, right in the historic town. Walking distance to everything. If you don't fancy walking, there's little busses that can take you around. Staff was amazing, receptionist, breakfast service and housekeepers all very friendly. The owner gave us an upgrade upon check-in, a room with an extra bed as she saw us with a toddler. Room was on the top floor with city view. Even tho is an old building, the facilities were clean, towels were soft and many. Beds very comfy too.

The stairs. Too many to climb especially when with heavy luggage and a toddler.

Excellent location, right at the entrance of the old town. We didn't have a chance to experience the breakfast, but we enjoyed the incredible view from our room. Our friends had the same view. Both with a terrace. The sunrise was a dream. The staff was extremely helpful on every request we had. So nice to experience an hotel that is not part of a big chain, where there is maybe a bit more comfort, but no uniqueness.

Charming historic family-run hotel conveniently located at the entrance gate of the hillside town of Montepulciano. The young lady who checked me in, took me & my luggage upstairs where, to my pleasant surprise, I was given the choice of 2 rooms: a small room with a large terrace overlooking the valley, or a large room with a small patio and view. My room included a queen bed with extra pillows & blanket, flat-screen tv, tea set & kettle, step-in shower & bidet & nice eco bath amenities. A generous breakfast featured an array of cheeses, cold cuts and fruit tortes made in-house, coffee & eggs made to order. The abundant wine shops, restaurants, unique stores & rainy weather didn’t keep me from sitting at the table & enjoying the view from my terrace each day. in the late evenings the front door stays locked with a code needed to open.

The walk-in shower leaked water due to worn door seals. No in-room safe.
