Location provided a beautiful view of the ruins and easy access. Staff lovely and professional. Breakfast was substantial in their fourth floor dining room overlooking the ruins, with a good variety of cheeses, cold cuts, breads, yogurt, pastries, and more. There's a nice little pizza shop with gelato too next door, and a bank with an ATM is just a few feet away. The grocery store Carrefour is about 12 minutes away on foot. If you go to the main train station and buy a Campania Artecard Lite from the information desk to the left as you go in, you get access to lots of sights in the Campania region for only €26. Ample gated parking is around the corner behind the hotel. There was a kettle in the room, with two teacups and two tea bags. The minibar fridge had room for a few of our things. We had two-pin adapters, which worked in the bathroom outlet. It seems like the three-pin adapters would be better for the outlets by the bed.

One of the beds was hard. The water was off for a few hours due to a plumbing problem, but it was repaired by the time we got back to the hotel.

We had an amazing 3 nights with Hotel Del sole. We booked it as a base to stay and tour the area and felt it was perfect for us. Close to the ruins, pompeii town, and about 10 minutes walk to each train station, it was exactly what we wanted. From checkin until we left, everything was just perfect! We found all of the staff very helpful and had positive interactions with everyone we encountered. Reception staff were especially helpful with train times, booking taxis and information to ensure our visit ran smoothly. Breakfast each morning had plenty of choices, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, breads, eggs, bacon, cold meats, cheese, pastries, juicrs and great coffee, everything you would want to set up for a busy day exploring the area. We had a balcony room at the front of the hotel overlooking the ruins. It was spotless clean with everything we needed. We had a delicious dinner in the restaurant with a great selection of food and wines, the staff were really helpful with choosing dishes and accompanying wines. The owner or manager was really lovely and checked in with everyone visiting for breakfast each morning to see if we were enjoying their stay. We liked everything during our stay

The location was perfect for visiting Pompeii, a 2min walk to one of the entrances, and close to the shops/restaurants of the town. The rooms were spacious, clean and fairly modern. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the lady at breakfast! The view of Vesuvius from the restaurant is brilliant too!

The breakfast was fine but could have easily been much better. They need a better coffee machine (horrible coffee and almost always broken anyway), could provide some fresh sliced fruit and a better selection of meats and cheese (when the selection in Italy is so good!!)

We went to this hotel for a 3 day trip to Pompeï. The location of the hotel was incredible. The people at the reception are always greeting you with a smile. The breakfast room is on the top floor, which gives you a marvellous view of the ruins of Pompeï. The entrance of Pompeii is practically across the street from the hotel. And if you want to eat, I recommend you go to the reception and enter the Varnelli restaurant. We have eaten there 2 evenings, and it was perfect both times.

I believe the hotel should do some small repairs. Our balcony wasn't looking the safest, and there was some rust in the bathroom.

The staff were amazing. They were all very friendly and accommodating. Our luggage was delayed and when it finally arrived they immedately brought it to our room. They were able to provide a map that had a supermarket and mall highlighted so we could find temporary clothing and essentials. The food provided for breakfast had a good variety and there were staff running a coffee bar, as well as clearing tables promptly. The Cafe looks out onto the necropolis of Pompeii. The prefect view for a cappucino and cornetto!

I honestly have no complaints except for the smokers that populate Italy. That's not the hotel's fault though! (oh, and the parrot... the restraunt downstairs has a parrot. It is vocal. lol)

The room decor in the superior suite was amazing. The view was also exceptional. The staff, service and food in the adjoining restaurant were 10/10.

The cleanliness left a bit to be desired. Also, whilst my balcony did have 2 chairs, the three along the same floor did not. One room had 1 chair, the other two none. Breakfast was sad looking and bland. If you’re a tea drinker take your own teabags as they were unexciting bordering on undrinkable. Overall a really great stay but I would say go out for breakfast.

Great hotel with good breakfast in stunning room overlooking Pompei ruins and Vesuvius. Good gluten free options for our coeliac son. Oddly they had a coffee vending type machine using instant coffee in buffet area. Proper espresso available at counter in same room. Rooms were very spacious, air con excellent. Super layout for our family stay. Excellent restaurants in new Pompei, few mins walk. We bought an annual pass for Pompei ruins so we could visit as much as we wanted and took a siesta at the hotel each day, it meant it was doable in august (35c) and super pleasant in the evening.

Road noise was a little off putting but we were so tired from walking in the ruins it did not affect our sleep! Shower could do with new grout but bathroom spacious and well equipped.

The hotel room was beautiful, with a great hot tub, robes and plenty of space. The hotel staff themselves were really pleasant and helpful, lending brollies for rainy or sunny days was particularly helpful. The position is perfect for restaurants and visiting Pompei itself. Decent breakfast, but go early as large groups can overwhelm Hermes.

The attached hotel restaurant did not give good service. The English translation on the menus did not match the Italian, and so my wife did not get the pizza she asked for, when this was addressed young staff were abrupt and dismissive. The older, wiser waiter was kind and helpful, but younger staff seemed grumpy, clashing trays and generally being obnoxious, ruining the overall atmosphere. We received a kettle, mugs, but no complimentary tea or coffee, which we thought was a bit tight.

Fantastic location, main station direct from Naples roughly 1km away and Scavi Station used for Sorrento right outside the Ruins main entrance. The Ruins with an entrance less than 100 yards ( we used when leaving) and main entrance only 800 metres. Incredible view from the 4th floor breakfast restaurant looking over the Pompei Ruins and Mount Vesuvius in the distance. Room was very comfortable stayed on 3rd floor standard room, with decent air con. Perfect location as you are within 40 mins train ride of Naples going west or 40 mins from Sorrento going east. Sorrento and Positano is a must! Plenty of restaurants on same road as hotel, used the hotels own restaurant next door. The hotel staff were lovely and even spread rose petals as it was our 20th Wedding anniversary ❤️

Shame the games room wasn't open although not as bad seeing as the kids hadn't come with us. Restaurant was quite expensive but plenty of choice on the same road. Just missing little details like tea/coffee (kettle provided) but had to go to local supermarket and no shower gel provided

Perfect location, friendly staff, decent breakfast, and beautiful room. The room itself was perfect and exactly as in the picture!

We were on the third floor and breakfast was on the fourth floor, at 7am every morning we were woken up with the banging and grinding of chairs on the floor above, which could easily be fixed by putting some fabric stick on pads to the bottom of the chair feet. A real shame when we paid hundreds of euros per night to have a stunning room but substituted it with a bad sleep.
