I prefer a savory breakfast and was fine too with toast, cheese, eggs. Great coffee. - location: quiet, silent, sky full of stars like we ’ve had never seen them before - little city Santa Sofia is close (20 min by car), there you have restaurants and small supermarkets - area perfect for nature lovers. We love to hike and Il Palazzo didn’t disappoint. The owners can provide you with good information. Right at the hotel starts the 4 km trail ‘sentiero naturale’. You can also do at least 2 long hikes starting at the hotel (1 > Hike around lake Ridracoli; 2 > hike up to San Paolo in Alpe). For a longer stay there are plenty of starting points within a 30 to 45 minutes drives. The car rides through nature are lovely as well. The national park ‘Foreste Casentinesi’ has a good app and a helpful website with tons of info concerning the many hikes in this amazing area. We spent a hot summer week at ‘Il Palazzo’. We hiked every day, the forest gives you lots of shadow which makes it feasible - after a long day of hiking it’s lovely to have dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. Really good food and not too expensive. If you want to eat somewhere else there are at least two restaurants within a 5 minute drive (we tried La vera Romagna and loved it!) - even though it was very hot, the temperature in the room was good to sleep in. For us it was perfect. Maybe good to know that, because of the restaurant, there will be some noise if want to go to bed early. We had earplugs. After eleven o’clock you can take them out and enjoy the silence (nothing but the sound of the river and the crickets)

A very good surprise, with a hotel bringing a very charming mountain lodge feeling. The experience of the nice drinks and great dinner on the outside terrasse was one of the highlight of our italian trip, with great view on the sunset over the mountains and historic buildings. The hike around the lake was also very enjoyable.

At Palazzo Ridracoli you can breath kindness thanks to Giovanni and Alice (and staff)! It was simply amazing! The food is homemade and delicious. The location is stunning 🤩. With my family and our 2 dogs we spent there 5 relaxing days surrounded by the nature. We hope to come back ! Highly highly recommended!

It is a bit complicated to reach other towns from there, it is better just to enjoy all the hiking paths around the location

There's few places that deserve 10/10 but this one does - no question. Great location, very nice room - freshly renovated bathrooms, fantastic food and super helpful staff!

Restaurant is only place to eat there, great unless you don’t eat meat, then a bit limited, but in mountains so expected.

Great location, kind staff, and nicely re-purposed old palace. Also a good place for sports activities (we were mountain-biking).

We liked everything about our short stay. The location is steeped in nature, the room was very comfortable and the food both breakfast and dinner were super. Wish we could have stayed longer. Recommend it for those wanting to recharge their batteries.
