This is a classic hotel - dark wood furniture, high ceilings, rickety little lift - but our rooms (we were upgraded to a suite) were large, spotlessly clean and the newly refurbished bathroom was a great size, clean and bright as was the kitchenette. The Reception staff were so pleasant, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our welcome drink in the garden and their recommendation for dinner in the tiny Trattoria across the road was absolutely spot on. We appreciated them making the reservation for us as it was full of locals so it was essential. Great location for a stroll into town or down to the Marina. Breakfast was Amazing - absolutely everything you could think of!

New pillows please! they were so flat they were a bit uncomfortable. And the stair well would really benefit from a coat of paint.

Decent staff; they offered us a welcome drink and a bottle of sparkling wine. Good breakfast in a lovely garden outside. Very clean, too. The hotel is in a great location, a short distance from the center of Sanremo and the beaches near the port. The bike service they offer is also a great bonus, seeing as Sanremo has a beautiful cycling path along the sea.

The city tax had to be paid separately, only in cash, which seemed a little sketchy.

The location was great - in centre of town and close to railway station. The room was spacious and airy. Clean and functional ensuite. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was lovely to sit outside for an ample breakfast. We were allowed to return to hotel after check out to collect our numerous bags in storage and, because we were soaked to the skin from heavy rain while we were cycling, they provided us towels and ability to change in bathroom.

Excellent location in the heart of Sanremo on a very pleasant street, old building but tastefully renovated. The garden and parking on the spot are a great asset, as was the free drink upon arrival and the nice breakfast setting. Parking is a bit tight but the friendly staff members were here to guide us in and out after arrival and upon departure and helped with the bags. Room was modern and nicely renovated, air con worked well, normally I don't like being on the ground floor but in this case, the room was very quiet and didn't bother me. The spa seemed pretty reasonable priced but I didn't have time to use it.

Bathroom was tight, especially the shower and a little basic, more toiletries could be useful. Breakfast was slightly limited in terms of times (only 8am to 10am) and therefore long queues at the very slow coffee machine since many people showed up at 8am. Check in process was a little bureaucratic, rather surprised at having to pay the sales tax in cash when paying all the rest by card (inconvenient!) and also some miscommunication after booking about the price of the parking (here are two options at different prices) but these were quickly cleared up...

staff was very good. room was very clean. if you are driving by car you can ask for a parking. the garden before the hotel is nice. especially if you are with a child. I expected that noice from the street can disturb, but not at all.

I loved the room it was so clean it was a beautiful suit! I loved the location it was so convenient to everything and most of all. I loved the service the people were so nice, so professional and personable! Truly a great experience.

In this hotel I love everything.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Alexander & Spa. The friendly staff went out of their way to help us. The little play area for children was a big hit with our daughter and the garden was beautifully maintained. Breakfast eggs were cooked to order and were fresh and delicious. The parking was interesting but the staff were always smiling and giving good directions. Great value for money family stay. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay great.

Wonderful friendly staff! Good location, spacious rooms, cozy leafy front garden with sitting areas and playground for kids. There is bar at the reception room. The staff greeted us with free welcoming cocktails. The hotel in right in the city centre and close to the sandy beach and restaurants.
