We absolutely enjoyed our stopover stay at the beautiful B&B Torre Talao. The generous size room is spotlessly clean, the bathroom is big and luxurious with a great shower and lovely toiletries are provided. There were 4 welcoming bottles of water in the mini fridge too, a gesture which does not cost much but goes a long way especially when all the shops are closed. Vittorio also patiently waited for our very late arrival and warmly offered us a drink on check in. We had the option of a sweet or savoury breakfast and lovely Ettorina who greeted us with a beaming smile in the morning prepared us scrambled eggs & bacon which were served in a beautiful room. Though this B&B is on the main road, the building is set back with free parking in front and has efficient glazing which blocks out traffic noise and ensures a good night's sleep in the super comfortable bed. Vittorio & Ettorina have the attributes to be perfect hosts and we would stay with them again without hesitation. Scalea is a cute little town with a hilltop historical centre with amazing views of the sea.

There was nothing we did not like at all.

Vittorio is an absolutely wonderful host. From offering us refreshments upon our late arrival, making us dinner reservations, offering to book us excursions, personalizing our breakfast requests and even going out of his way to get fruit for my grandmother, he truly cares for his guests and wants to make the stay as perfect as possible. The rooms were spotless and the shower was great. The cherry on top was the fabulous American breakfast cooked upon order every morning. I highly recommend choosing this property for your stay in Scalea and would gladly return whenever I get the chance!

Nothing at all

Very good location, everything is nearby: the historical city center, shops, cafes and the sea, The apartment is very clean, with a view of the sea and the historical center from the balcony. The room has a very comfortable bed and a large wardrobe, modern renovation. Vittorio is the best owner of the apartments, he picked us up in his car at the railway station, the breakfasts were very tasty (continental or sweet) and delicious orange juice. On the ground floor of the building there is a restaurant "Corsaro", where the food is delicious and the service is excellent. Scalea is a wonderful city, I really hope that we will return there.

Vittorio was very communicative and friendly. He spoke English so communication with him was absolutely OK. The location was great, 1 min from the beach and few steps from the historical centre. It was extremely clean, comfortable and you really felt welcome. There are option of pillows which is a nice touch, choose firmer or soften one.

The only downside was the view as we were facing the courtyard. But it's not a minus, just a downside I could think. Only other thing I could think, is for a off season, and small town the price for one night was a bit higher than expected.

Excellent location to access everything.

Our host, Vittorio, was exceptional and went out of his way to make sure our stay was pleasant. A complimentary bottle of wine was offered to share with some friends whom we were meeting up with. He gave very good recommendations for restaurants and a boat cruise around San Nicola Arcella. We loved our stay and will definitely try to return and see more of that part of Italy. Also, I should mention the breakfasts with homemade cakes, croissants, fresh fruit, eggs and bacon.

Vittorio is a very friendly and helpful host. The rooms are finished to a very high standard. Everywhere is exceptionally clean. Free bottled water provided in the rooms fridge. Large balcony with a lovely sea view. Impressive bathroom finished beautifully with a a very large shower. We had a very nice freshly cooked breakfast of scrambled eggs and pancetta served on dining room balcony overlooking the sea. . 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

On arrival the exterior of the building block is very commercial but do not be out off, Vittorio''s B&B rooms are fabulous and everything is modern and bang uo to date!

Vittorio is a great host. Communication was excellent. Our room exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect for what we wanted. We parked our car and did not get back in it until we were leaving. We walked right across the street to the beach. You are close to all sorts of restaurants, stores, shopping and more. I would highly recommend staying here.

An especially nice little B&B set above some local businesses. Across the street from the beach, parking out front. The room was exceptionally appointed with elegant tile and fixtures. Loved the balcony too. The host ensured all was well and offered an American breakfast on the balcony. Was passing through the area on a grand tour but would have loved to linger here for a few days. The property is located near the beach and its close to the city centre. The host Vittorio is the best I stayed with so far, very kind, very helpful, always available. This was the second time I was in Scalea and just for the host alone I am convinced it was not my last time.
