Room was spacious for 3 people. Wifi strength was good. Bed was comfortable and you can grab an extra pillow at the lobby. Breakfast was decent. I was amazed they served alcohol at the breakfast area. The great thing about it is that the hotel is linked to Aeon Mall so it is very convenient. JR Asahikawa station is also close by, less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

The staff who checked us in was rather cold. She wasn't rude but felt like she wanted to get rid of us as soon as possible even though there was nobody waiting behind us. From her accent when she spoke English, I could tell she was not Japanese. Unfortunately, the level of service you get from a a Japanese staff and a foreigner working in a Japanese establishment is very different.

Location is perfect. Next to main train station where there are lots of cabs and connecting busses. This is an Inn so bear in mind it’s not a hotel and they already mentioned it. What you have to expect is, it’s a transit accommodation place and there is Onsen and a business suite at the reception area. Best part and this is for family, the Inn is located near the city of Asahikawa and there’s clinic with senior doctors for emergency purposes. Within the Inn, Aeon mall with loads of food and supermarket is a heaven for most. Remember it’s a transit accommodation so place is a little small and tight. But clean and tidy.

Air Conditioning unit could have some minor upgrade as it takes long to fan the room and it’s hard to breathe. And have some USB port as most hotels and Inn have these days

Travelled by a leased car with my wife and 2 toddlers. It was easy to find. Parking was also relatively easy to find - just look for the AEON parking as they share the same parking. The elevator entrance was also easy to identify and conveniently accessible from the car park even with luggage and baby strollers. Having AEON right below is a massive bonus as food is conveniently accessible. The hotel location is also perfect for some of the must try foods like Genghis Khan BBQ, Ramen-ya Tenkin, Ramen Aoba which are all walkable. The room is neat and tidy although a little too dim to our liking. It is also slightly dated in terms of design but still very comfortable and clean to stay. Toilet is immaculate as usual and fresh towels are provided daily. There is also a pillow section near the receptionist where guests can choose which pillows they would prefer as they come in various softness and height (these are additional to the ones already available in your room). There is also a lounge area with a selection of manga and coffee machine. Definitely recommended.

JR Inn is located in the shopping center that abuts Asahikawa's main train station. When you exit the station, take ten steps, turn left, find the JR Inn sign, walk through the door, find the elevator and ride it up to the reception floor. The rooms are Japanese-sized but very clean and comfortable with good Wi-Fi and good views (at least from my room). There are laundry facilities on the reception desk floor, a breakfast every morning on the first floor and a "pillow market" where you can choose your own pillow from numerous hard/soft/contoured/snore reducing options. I really liked this hotel and will definitely rebook if I'm ever again in Asahikawa.

Great location, it’s so nice to be attached to the mall, especially if you have a long day of hiking / touring. The supermarket has good takeaway and the hotel has a microwave for heating food. We got the upgraded larger room. If you get the cheapest room it will probably be quite small if you have suitcases. Public bath very nice, although no sauna or cold pools. We walked along the river behind the station and found a Starbucks close by which is open earlier than the mall stores.

Our parking ticket wasn’t validated correctly by the hotel so we had to back out and go to the lobby , or face a huge fine. Not a big deal but if we didn’t go back then the fine is very large. The parking is paid upfront and you get unlimited access for your time there until noon on checkout day.

The property is conveniently located next to JR Asahikawa Station, and Aeon Mall. We used it as a base to explore Daisetsuzan National Park and Sounkyo Gorge. The property is new and clean. We like that we could select the pillows based on firmness or texture. Parking is convenient and costs ¥800 per night. The staff were hospitable, helpful and spoke fluent English and Chinese.

The breakfast was outsourced to the Grand Farm Buffet at Aeon Mall. We do not recommend taking the breakfast there as the food was below the standard expected of a hotel buffet breakfast.

Location is a plus. Hotel is on Aeon mall where we could get all the stuff and food. There is a lounge on L5 where we could get free coffee. Nice to have a public bath, both indoor and outdoor.

Paid parking can be a challenge as it’s shared with Aeon shoppers. We booked a twin room for 2 adults (twin bed shown in photo) but when we checked in, hotel staff told us it’s meant for an adult and a child. We were asked to top up ¥2000 per night (no breakfast) just to stay even though we booked a twin room. The staff explained it was booking.com website that didn’t make it clear, regardless we have to top up for our 3 nights stay. 😟

We love the location - it is connected to Aeon mall and we could get anything from food to medicine - and the facilities. The fact that they have a public bath and a sizable onsen (for each gender) came as a pleasant surprise to us! They also provide the toiletries necessary for the public bath and the price we paid already included the fees for the public baths.

The check-in took a bit of time and the corridor to check in is narrow, so it was a bit difficult for us who came with a few pieces of luggage. Also, as we drove to the premises, it took us a long walk to get to the check-in counter. Maybe they can consider having a separate check-in for people who drive?

Our stay at this hotel was very comfortable and convenient. The location is excellent, just next to the station, making it easy to get around. The room was clean, comfortable, and offered a nice view. We also enjoyed the onsen, which added to the relaxing experience. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay.

While our stay was great overall, it would have been helpful to have more information or a map of the nearby area available. It’s not a major issue, but having those details could enhance the guest experience.

Very modern. All staff spoken with had very good English. Shower pressure and hot water great, location very convenient adjoining the aeon mall and jr station which made finding dinner, shopping for souvenirs and leaving for the train all very easy. Laundry provided was good - a new looking machine and did washing and drying for us for 400Y. Bed quite soft by Japanese standards and they have pillow selection available although we didn't need it. We had a comfortable sleep. The lounge area was comfortable and had a fantastic view of the JR station building. The amenities selection was also good.

There was only had one towel rack for bath towels in the bathroom, which was affixed to the shower door. It would have been nice if there was two, perhaps one above the one already there. The location of the smoking room adjacent to the lobby meant the lobby sometimes smelt like smoke.
