We liked everything. The Anchor Hotel is clean, groovy, and easy to access. It is close to Fukuyama Shinkansen train station – within a block and a half. It is easy to check into - via the Oriental Hotel less than 50 metres down the road to the right of the entrance as you face the building. The staff are wonderful and helpful. Our room was a good price and came with a very simple but tasty breakfast. The Seven-Eleven is opposite the station at the end of the street. There’s a shopping complex in the station. Fukuyama Castle is one block away. The Anchor has a cool bar and there are plenty of cool bars and restaurants on the other side of the railway line. Everyone in Fukuyama goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and help you if you need it. We had the best time in this city and wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

The hotel location was pretty close to the train station, so we can reach the hotel by foot. The interior is nice & it was quite roomy for a Japanese hotel. The breakfast was included and although it wasn’t the most scrumptious meal, the lady who took care of our breakfast was very efficient and quick in serving it to go since she knew we were trying to catch a train. Love it!

The room that we stayed in and the receptionist were not in the same building so we had to walk further after checking in, probably due to the extension of the hotel (?) I wasn’t sure. So it was not that convenient especially if it was raining.

Excellent breakfast and freshly squeezed orange juice. Seasonal items on the menu in addition to usual sandwich/ hot dog options. Nice selection of amenities in the room. Easy walk to the station. Stayed here at the end of Shimanami Kaido cycling trip to break up journey back to Tokyo. Anchor hotel was a comfortable way to relax before heading home. Enjoyed visited Fukuyama castle which is close to the hotel and only a few minutes from the station.

Some confusion about check in which is at another hotel a few doors down the street. This info was communicated to us but not to our traveling companions. The process could have been smoother.

Location was great, super close to the station (which includes a mall and lots of food options). There is a convenience store just down the street. We were permitted use of the public bath in the main building, as the apartments do not contains baths. It was great, and although 3/4 of our party members have tattoos we were still allowed into the facilities. This was super appreciated after a long day of biking. They had all amenities available next to the front desk (toothbrushes, PJs, etc...). For those intending to bike the Shimanami Kaido during their stay, Onomichi station was only a few train stops away. Very convenient to get to (had to take a bus to get back, but it wasn't too bad). The breakfast was great, and we each had either a coffee or tea with our meal. Very delicious! It was easy to get into the apartments even when the coffee shop/bar was closed. Elevator is available for those who have trouble with the stairs. The staff were so kind, and were very friendly with all of us! Thank you very much for allowing us to stay. It was a pleasure!

Not a negative, but these apartments are in a separate building from the check-in desk.

The breakfast at the location was provided at the restaurant/bar downstairs, and it was made by the lovely waitress each time. It was the perfect way to start each morning. Even though we had to go to a different building to get to the lobby, the rooms were nice and clean, and decorated gorgeously. There was a little gap below the bathroom door, but it wasn't too much of a problem.

The hotel is located very near Fukuyama Sta., but unfortunately the area north of the station is a little more quiet than I liked. However, it was not that big of an issue.

We spent a short time here, mainly as a place to sleep before tackling the Shimanmi Kaido. This hotel is centrally located, just a very short walk to Fukuyama Station. The room seemed recently renovated and was comfortable – partnered with the hotel next door, which is where you do the check-in procedure. While we didn't spend much time in Fukuyama, the castle and area around the station was very pleasant. It was nice to have access to the onsen at the hotel next door.

I loved this room, great attention to detail with local textiles and styles. I think it has been my favourite stay in Japan, and certain my favourite kimono night-wear. Clean comfortable, ideal location close to station, close to castle, friendly staff. I am not a fan of hotdogs but I loved the hot dog in a croissant breakfast and the bar was cosy and stylish

As all hotels in Japan the price increased for my second night and was over my budget so I had to move to the adjacent hotel.

Super cozy and clean room that large enough to flat my 24-inch luggage and still have plenty space to move around. Comfortable bed and beautiful hotel-branded indoor wear yukata, which I was regret not purchasing one set to take them home. Great location with only minutes away from the JR station and bus terminal. Easy access to visiting spot like Tomonoura. Definitely a place I would choose again when visiting Fukuyama next time.

Amazingly beautiful and clean room! It was nice and spacious and everything was very new and modern. The design of the room and everything in it was very fashionable and cool. It was very close to the station so it was very convenient. There is also a public bath you can use which is in another building. We weren't expecting that so we were very happy too!

The bed was really comfortable, nice design on the room and I liked the general simplicity. Because of an allergy to, I was happy to experience that there was an vegan option at the breakfast. It was a strange breakfast concept. It was more like a snack than a breakfast. The staff were super friendly and really good at English (especially at the breakfast.
