The hotel has an excellent location. It is right above the airport bus terminal and within 5 minutes' walk from the tram station, bus terminus and JR station. There are also lots of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, and AEON Mall is just across the road. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, and with a spectacular view of the Sakurajima volcano. It had both a shower and a bathtub, and water pressure was very good.

The location was perfect. Transfers from the train station to the hotel was easy with a big luggage. And so many options for food and the tourist bus is right there at the hotel entrance like 20m away. So so convinient for everything.

Usually nishitetsu will have an indoor onsen facility. I was expecting that. But this one didn't have one. But that's okay the breakfast was exceptionally good. Lots of local special food and dessert.

Though room is a bit small, the staff had given me a room facing the wheel ferry which was very beautiful when it is light up in the evening. If you have the opposite side of the room, you probably would see mountain view, equally beautiful. The hotel provides a very good Japanese breakfast spread. Location wise is also very convenient. You can just cross one traffic light and then take the escalator and walk through the mall to reach the train station. This is very convenient if you are having a heavy luggage. There is a convenient store just next to the hotel and a supermarket (AEON) one street across. There are eateries at the basement too.

For the normal compact sized room it was well designed. Gorgeous view of volcano from our room. So convenient to bus, train and trams. Staff were exceptionally helpful when we had a problem. Dealt with it quickly and so efficiently. Lawsons at ground level had a huge array of very good snacks. Liked being able to buy egg sandwiches for breakfast.

They were trying to be kind to the environment by giving you the choice of not having clean towels every day, but cleaning staff kept bringing them anyway, though we left out the sign saying we didn't want them.

Fantastic location across from the main station and mall with an underground passage connecting it straight across. View from our room of the station and Ferris wheel was great. Blind in main window is blockout.

Instructions for car parking were not very clear and neither were locations on maps. Given four star rating and price, when we asked for an extra bag of coffee, we were surprised to be refused (apparently hotel policy is to only give one bag per guest per day). We had a corner room so while the blackout curtains on the main window were effective, the slat blinds above the bed were not blockout which was a shame.

Great location, reasonable price, excellent service from the staff, clean rooms which also came with all essential items provided should you forget to pack. Self service laundry area, which came in handy instead of having to utilize the hotel service. Good breakfast with both western and eastern selections. Connivence store downstairs for snacks or other necessities. Most staff spoke English well enough to communicate, much better than my limited spoken Japanese.

There was nothing I didn’t like about the property, however be aware that the most rooms are standard Japanese size not American so it’s much, much smaller. There wasn’t much room to place two carry on suitcases for my husband and I, no closet to hang but a few hangers along the wall. Do your research and figure out the size of the room, dimensions are provided on website.

My room view is nice as I can see the ferris wheel from the window. The room is nice & cozy. Just sometimes there was tram noisy downstair even my room was located at the highest floor if your room is facing to the ferris wheel direction. However I had good sleep during my stay. Very closed to the train station, 5-8 min walk with your lugguage from Kagoshima-chuo station on ground. There is another way going through a tunnel just outside the station, but there is no sign direct you to this short-cut way.

The Japanese toilet seat is somtimes annoying as the mechanical works suddenly when you sit on it, the sudden noise always frightened me; and the toilet will flush automatically when I did not close the toilet cover yet. But if you got used to this toilet model, it is not a big deal. Since I just stayed for 2 nights, I still could not get used to the working pattern of this toilet. There's water stain on the shower door & window.

Only one big blanket for 2 guests (I prefer my own blanket) Windows can't be opened. (Without the Air-conditioning you can't breathe because the room gets very stuffy)

nice view of Sakurajima from the room. Breakfast was good, had nice selection of local cuisine and not jam packed like some places. Location was good same building as bus terminal to airport. Basement has some fun izakaya.

requested some sightseeing planning assistance from the staff in advance, but received no response whatsoever. some floors/laundry are designated women only, but I saw women hogging the laundry facilities on the few floors open to men. Staff should ensure a more equitable arrangment.
