It's hard to find spacious rooms in Tokyo for a reasonable price. Those of you who have been around may recognize that this hotel is one that usually you pay by the hour. Don't let that make you feel uncomfortable. The hotel was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The amenities were refilled daily and the staff apon request were amenable to store our luggage prior to check in and post check out to accommodate travel times. The room felt more like and upscale apartment, equipped with japanese style toilet room, genkan, and shoe free room. The hotel rests on a quiet side road close to a convenient store and a Donkihote and it's walking distance from a vibrant night life area if you don't feel threatened by party people.

Learn a little japanese if you don't speak it already. You will have a physical key they you give to the front desk when you go out so your room can be cleaned and re stock amenities. But you will have to ask for your key when you return by room number. They can not see you since it is a private check in and check out. They will also ask you daily how long you will be out so they can plan cleaning around your departure. All in Japanese of course.

Room 503 is one of the king rooms with open air tub. A non smoking room was requested well before check in date and the hotel accommodated the request. The level of cleanliness was excellent and met expectation. Very comfortable bed in a room with a nice variety of lighting features and setting choices using a control panel at the head of the bed. A disco ball was also available in the ceiling. The bath room was well laid out with toilet segregated in its own space apart from the sink for convenience and practicality. The shower and tub are also separated from the sink thru a glass door and both areas are spacious. The toilet is like one of the newest models with automated lid and other features associated with J toilets. A large variety of personal care products are available in the sink and shower spaces including bath salts multiple shampoos conditioners various liquid soaps mouthwashes and assorted facial products. Housekeeping provides a couple of airline sized ice creams in the freezer each day during cleaning. Towels are plastic wrapped and stored under the sink and by the folding glass screen door to the outside tub and shower. Room cleaning can be requested as partial or full by hanging the appropriate sign on the door handle when going out. Large smart tv can connect with youtube using a smart phone and the room has good wifi quality. Karaoke equipment and high mounted speakers are also part of the entertainment system. AC had its own RC on the coffee table but the room temp was tricky to get to a steady temp because it could become too hot or too cold so the AC had to be turned on and off accordingly until the temp steadied. There may have been a setting on the remote to simplify that but didn't bother to spend time on translating the buttons in Japanese. Both tubs feature water jets and mood lighting making them even more enjoyable. The outside shower features wand rainfall and water jets as well so it is very nice to use as well.

Nothing really to complain about.

The rooms have plenty of space , between me and my wife in the king room we had 6 luggages and we were able to manage the space just fine. The showers were amazing both inside and outside. And the bath tub in the bathroom was big and so was the hot tub outside. Plenty of entertainment options with TV outside and inside and you can cast from your phone as long as you are connected to the wifi. The location of the hotel is perfect with plenty to do at all hours and about an 8 minute walk from the station.

The cleanliness of the room i would have to give it a 5 out of 10. The sheets were clean, the pillows were ok, the bathrooms were very clean and amenities were great. But over all the room has stains and dust all over the place so it still felt a little dirty. We were not able to use the air purifier because it made the room smell like cigarette smoke. Also the Ac unit looked very dirty. The room could be amazing but because there is so much inside it makes it hard to properly clean everything For example the perimeter of the room was dirty and all the baseboards had dirt built up

Stayed there for five nights with my partner and we loved every second that we have spent there. Just to make it clear, This is a hybrid of hotel/love hotel, but don't get wrong. This place is the best value for money that you can get, and is amazing. It is well equipped and quite spacious. The a/c unit is brilliant and quiet, gently blowing cold air through out the day and night. Toilet and shower/ bath facilities are amazing. Location: 9 minutes walk from Ikebukuro JR station, where you can jump on the Yamanote line train. It will take you approximately 15 minutes to get into the Shibuya, and 30 minutes to get into the Tokyo station. I would highly recommend everyone to stay there, and we definitely will book Varkin hotel again in the future

No bad points at all

The room was sizable and well equipped in terms of the bathroom. The bed was comfortable. This hotel is designed for couples to enjoy some intimate time, so the bed and bath were better than standard hotels in the district, I think. The room cleaners leave complimentary ice cream in the room freezer, which is great after a day out in bustling Tokyo. If you skip the cleaning, no extra ice cream.

Given the specialized purpose of the establishment, check-in is a little unusual, as you have to speak to the clerk over the tiny window that does not show the face, for privacy reasons. This is not a bad point, just a note for those who are not familiar with this hotel system.

We decided to stay at a love hotel for our last few days as a bit of a novelty but this blew away our expectations. The room is incredible with a ridiculous amount of settings. We were concerned a smoking room would be yellowed and smelly but actually the room had a private outdoor patio, where the jacuzzi pool was, and this area is used for smoking. It was incredibly luxurious and the staff were super helpful - we left a bag in the lobby and the receptionist called the phone in our room and used Google translate's text to speech feature to tell us so. We were given one key for the room to come and go as we pleased. Also, there was an unexpected amount of skincare in the room and it made my skin feel so good I am now looking into how I can ship it to the UK!

Honestly, nothing was a negative. The only thing I can say is that the mattresses are quite firm - but this is a love hotel and they are not designed for a good night's sleep! At 7am our lights automatically turned on which was a bit of a rude awakening but easily turned back off.

Super close to EVERYTHING! Train Station was 5 min walk away! Lawsons Super market next door! Room was very clean! So was the bathroom and tub! Room definitely puts you in the right mood for the Love Hotel :) Sound proof room! 2 free condoms next to the bed as well! They took our bags and held it for us 7 hours before check in! 4 free bottles of water and 2 ice cream cups in the freezer! Alcohol for cheap purchase in the secondary fridge in the room too! The pics are from when we were checking out / more things I like: Bathtub with soaps and scents and relaxing lighting for a romantic bath session/ they had hair straightener, blow drier, lotions, creams all bathroom amenities and also Robes!

We stayed here for the last night of our honeymoon. It is a love hotel, FYI - didn’t matter to us, but some people might care. The building itself was very nice and our room was great - large outdoor bath with a TV screen, karaoke machine in the room, very nice bathroom with a wide variety of nice toiletries, free ice cream in the mini fridge, and a disco ball (?!). Definitely a vibe. The person at the front desk was behind a wall so we could not see them, and they did not speak English very well, but showing each other our phones with Google translate worked well enough. You don’t receive a key card, so when you leave/come back you have to stop by the front desk to let them know you need them to lock/unlock your room, which, again, wasn’t a huge deal for us but may have gotten annoying if we were staying there several days. We didn’t spend a ton of time in the area, but it felt less touristy than other parts of Tokyo that we visited. We went to a ramen spot in the neighborhood and were the only non-Japanese people there - ramen was great! Relatively close to a train station.

Lack of key card would have been inconvenient if we were staying longer than one night.

Great location, only ten minutes from the train station with a Lawson steps away from the entrance of the hotel. Hotel provided all amenities including Hagen Daz ice cream, bottles of water and kettle. The hotel was away from the busy night life and quiet to allow for good sleep. Much roomier than the rooms down the street where the rest of our group stayed

As we stayed for several days would've liked a laundry on site and room clean up
