I have been travel around many places and I would still say this is one of the best hotel I ever stayed. From staff, services to the Onsen, everything is amazing. It is very hard for solo traveler to enjoy onsen inside the hotel, this place provided this option and best one for solo traveler. Onsen is amazing with the mountain view. I would rate 10 and I would defo go back again.

It seems that single room booking is not allowed to book the dinner in the restaurant. (Can only order food to the room). I respected the rules, and no complain with the value price for single room really. But it would be great that is an option in the future. :)

Places are very clean and comfort. The hotel is huge with beautiful looks and decoration inside. Meals could serve in room or in their restaurant. We picked dinner in room and breakfast in restaurant. Both amazing. The restaurant looks so artistic & beautiful. The views from hot springs, room and the restaurant were great and felt good. The room felt clean and neat. They have free shuttle from hotel to Arima shopping streets (they called downtown) and Arima station. Tips, better to confirm the spot you want them to pick up back up in advance. For example, first spot they called 'parking lot'. Of course, we didn't know and tried to describe the spot we located, which took a while due to language barrier. Fyi, they have 3 spots to get on or off. Try go there earlier, drop off your luggage and visit Rokko Arima by taking the Ropeway ride. Beautiful natures. Interesting spots up to the mountain. Return to hotel for hot springs. Their hotel also connects with their sister hotel called Yugetsusanso. We can use their hot springs too. However, I like Korokan side better, the one we booked, Arima Onsen Gekkoen Korokan. The hot springs is bigger than the other side. Excellent hotel. I wish I stayed here for another night just for the hot springs and foods. Will definite return in future if I get another chance.

Nothing. Only if it could be cheaper; So, I would definitely book another night with my original plan =)

The hot springs was great, having both outdoor and indoor hot springs that gives our different vibe and are all extremely enjoyable. Having the ability to share and use the hot spring facilities from their sister hotel next door is extremely helpful in giving you more options to bath and for a change of pace. Room is good and staff are extremely polite and caring making it a very enjoyable stay.

Note that the entire Arima Onsen area doesn’t offer much to eat at night so if my advice is to either purchase their food package which gives luxurious food offerings or get something to eat before you head up the mountains.

The service. For example, during breakfast, the coffee machine didn’t work. So, a waiter noting that I wanted a coffee, try for half hour make it operational again- he fixed the error message and clean it carefully. After 1/2 hour, he with a big smile handed me a warm cup of coffee. During dinner, I forgot to tell the waitress that I didn’t eat sugar. So, when I finish eating the main course, I left. Half hour later this waitress knock at my door handling me the desert. It was so nice!

The onzen (SPA) and the nature around it.

Had a standard, Western styled room that was very clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was very accommodating. The highlight are the Onsen, there are three separate ones, all very nice.

Not really a negative but something to be aware of: dinner and breakfast need to be ordered ahead of time. This holds true even for the buffet breakfast in the sister hotel that is connected via an accessible walkway.

The interior of the room was a bit old but functional. Shuttle service from Arima station was really helpful as its a 10 minute walk from the station. There is actually 3 onsen that you can access by staying here which is quite decent.

Onsen closes a little too early at midnight. Would be better if closes slightly later.

The onsen and private baths were excellent, as is the general location of Arima onsen. The mountain views were wonderful from my window.

The facilities and furnishings are showing their age in places like the bathroom and fittings. Simple things like usb ports for charging are missing. A Booking only restaurant combined with no bar and limited times to access room service meant I had to rush to a bar down the street to get fed. The village itself is entirely closed up by 8pm and the shifts of the hotel staff and facilities seem to follow this too.

It is very spacious and not too crowded. The area is very clean and has many onsen choices so it doesn’t get boring. The view of the mountain is gorgeous and very relaxing.

There aren’t much accommodations for children as they explained not too many people bring their kids to their property. However, it was enough for a short stay.

I chose this ryokan because of its public and private onsen, and I wasn’t wrong! Both onsens were so amazing! The cost of the private one is very affordable and even more if you come with group. The locations also very convenient from Arimaonsen station.

The WiFi was quite poor
