Yubune is in a fantastic location, right near the waterfront, and close to great cafes. It was the perfect stop for us overnight whilst rising the Shimanami Kaido. Beautiful building, lovely modern Japanese decor, large room that stored our three bikes easily. Hotel staff were lovely and helpful, and the breakfast included at a local restaurant was excellent quality! would definitely stay here again, and next time try the onsen.

The extra futon bed was a little thin and uncomfortable, but after a full day riding in the heat, my son slept well anyway! It was also his first futon experience, so was just not used to it.

We were greeted warmly by the staff and we felt very welcome. The style of the rooms were very nice and it was very clean and tidy. We especially liked the coffee, and the other local drinks, which were provided. There was a speaker next to the bed and the wifi was very fast. We particularly liked the beds, which were quite big (bigger than we are used to in Japan). We were sad we could only stay for one night but its a great stop when you are cycling the Shimanami Kaido!

We had a very comfortable and spacious room with a much appreciated Japanese style. The room was quiet with good beds. The onsen was very modern, tastefully decorated and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is well located right on the Shimanami Kaido cycling route. The included breakfast at a nearby restaurant was delicious!

nice location, right on the shopping street where there were nice cafes & restaurants . quite central for walking routes too. staff were courteous and attentive. room was spacious and well equipped . very modern . bed and pillows were very comfortable. onsen was clean and the wall mosaic was beautiful . Breakfast at the cafe next to the port was a nice touch . excellent service there.

noise occasionally from the street from people talking, but bearable. some communication problem as most staff speak only Japanese.

Yubune staff were excellent. They went the extra mile in providing us with our every needs. Especially going out of the way in sourcing and providing us with extra heaters when we were feeling cold the night we checked in. The room we stayed in was very clean and spacious for my family of three. I will definitely come back here when I am in Ikuchi island.

I love everything about Yubune

I wasn't expecting much, but Setoda and Yubune Hotel surpassed my expectation. Design wise very sophisticated, comfortable and spacious for Japan standard. The common area on the 2nd floor was beautiful, and most importantly The Sentō! 10/10, definitely the main highlight of this hotel, you get to relax in hot water after a long day of exploring the island!

Excellent property in a small, quaint but upscale area. The room had a Japanese style in appearance but had western comforts (a western style and sized bed, a table you could sit at, etc). Out of the four weeks we stayed in Japan this was one of the best properties we stayed at (we were a couple with a three year old). We highly recommend this property.

location was excellent — close to Setoda port, bicycle rental, shops and tourist spots. amenities are great quality and really comfortable. building is new, lobby has relaxing natural design. sento (charged 900yen for non-guests use) is relaxing. staff were very nice and I was particularly grateful that (being tired from cycling since previous day) they helped me put my rental bicycle into the room, they even wiped the water off with hotel towels, it was wet from rain outside. we were four people and booked two separate rooms. we used the “Doma” room’s tatami relaxing space to hangout as a group. breakfast included was at a different place and we were glad they catered to our request for vegan breakfast and it was tasty. sleepwear provided was comfy and I decided to buy to take home. I got to learn about yubune through recommendation and I definitely recommend stay here, I would love to come again if I do another shimanami Kaido trip.

We stayed one night during a 2-day trip to bike the Shimanami Kaido. The location was great; beautiful neighborhood of Setoda, close to the port. Close to Kosanji temple and shops & restaurants. The room was really comfortable and roomy for relaxing after a bike ride. Loved the tatami sitting area. The onsen is open for hotel guests after it closes to the public.

our one-night stay at yubune was wonderful and we wished we had time to stay even longer! the room was beautiful & very serene, the beds were very comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. we loved the onsen space, and how centrally located the hotel was in town. we stopped here while cycling the shimanami kaido and had a very relaxing time.
