Was very close to Dotonbori and had excellent metro transport links!! The shower pressure was very good, and there was a lot of space plus extra storage inside the bed area, which was a nice change compared to other hostels I've been in that have been quite cramped. Felt very safe and the atmosphere was really nice, the staff were lovely and accommodating when I wanted to check out early, and there is free breakfast with coffee, toast, and a selection of jams. Also their shampoo smells divine. Was really happy with everything and felt safe leaving my things in the room, which is locked with a key code!

The mattress was so thin, I could feel the wooden frame beneath. Not really an issue for me, but just be aware that the thin mattress is no joke - it is REALLY thin!

beautiful, modern building with nice atmosphere, very chill and friendly vibe, well equipped kitchen, everything was clean; there’s a box for each bed that you can use to store your belongings, doesn’t fit a suitcase but worked just fine for valuables and other stuff – not equipped with a lock though so better bring your own

The hostel is well-located with subway stations at 5 minutes by foot. We could even walk to the main attractions (30 minutes). But still, it was located in a nice and quiet area where we had the chance to go to a local matsuri. The hostel was extra clean. I have never saw a hostel that clean. I have seen staff members literally sweeping the floor with tissues. Unexpected we had a breakfast there. It was actually quite nice. The bread used was the fluffy loathes instead of the thin loathes. We had a variety of jam to choose from and even butter. The bed was comfortable and wide. A large locker was provided, just what I needed. The staff was nice. They gave us advise to go to different matsuri.

Very cozy and comfortable hotel, price are very reasonable and worth it. Is very quiet place at night (in area of some temples, Local resident and school area), nearby have a drug store (Sugi Drug) which can tax free and very less tourists, many local Japanese, can enjoy slowly shopping there (just selections might not sufficient like Shinsaibashi drug store). 15min walk can reach Osaka Uehommachi which can catch the earliest Express Limo Bus to Kansai Airport. And receptionist do speak English and have good guidance where you can travel, very helpful staff (Coco are Cute and Cheerful)

If you carry 2-3 roller luggage, this might not suitable for you (No extra space for more then 2 roller luggage each person). Take like 10min walk to closers + staircase Tanimachi 9 Chome Station. Walk to Dotonbori like 15-18min (At night you might highly chances need to cross by a street full of Host Club before you reach Dotonbori. If you don't mind been disturbing by asking a lot funny questions, I suggest you take another route or take train go). Opposite is a primary school, morning will be a bit noisy (I don't mind). Prepare buy Japan strong deodorant spray, because might be useful for you and others, especially on long day long journey walk, your sock and shoes will be appreciated to have it.

One of the best hostels ever! The hostel is 10 minutes walking from dotobori and located in a peaceful neigbourhood with enough local restaurant around. The hostel is super clean and has a nice area to sit and a kitchen with free coffe and tea all day. In the morning there is free toast with butter and jam. It's a social hostel and they often organize some events. The staff was really fun and helpful. They gave recommendations and helped with planning your stay. The bathrooms are really clean with space to leave your staff. There are enough showers and toilets so you dont have to wait long. There are even toilets and showers for women only. We booked 3 nights but almost stayed a full week.

Great location in a quiet residential neighbourhood but walking distance to Osaka's highlights. Clean showers and toilets. Very usable kitchen, big common space, toast and coffee included for breakfast. Cheap laundry. Spacious pods with big lockable box for belongings.

The mattress is a little on the thin side even by Japanese standards but I still got a good rest, if you prefer western style beds you may not be comfortable. I wish there was dedicated (personal) space to hang towels, there was a windowsill but the whole space was taken up by two of my roommates' large towels.

This guesthouse is clean and well-maintained, with a minimalist yet elegant design. The bed spaces are spacious, and each bed comes with a lockable storage compartment, providing both safety and convenience. The rooftop features a balcony for sunbathing and a separate area for drying clothes, which is especially helpful for travelers on longer trips. There’s a large supermarket nearby, offering a variety of delicious bento options. Alternatively, you can buy fresh ingredients and cook at the guesthouse, as they provide a fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable dining area. While it is a bit of a walk to major attractions like Osaka Castle and Shinsaibashi, the distance is entirely manageable on foot. For me, the location of this guesthouse is absolutely perfect.

Strategically located from nearby train stations and hotspots. The capsule beds were also quite comfortable and the amenities very clean and sufficient. The common area was quite pleasing and the kitchen useful for cooking. The people managing the front desk and hostel were super friendly and accommodating. Kudos to Coco, Hiro, Kato (the one with the Australian flag in his name tag, sorry if I misremembered your name) and Kyo for being very helpful. Some of which even went beyond my expectations in helping me explore Osaka properly. Overall, a great living experience further enhanced by the people working there and their genuine kindness and helpfulness. Can't wait to stay there again!

I prefer a clean environment to live in and Hostel Mitsuwaya did not disappoint me at all. Not only were the rooms and the 1st floor lobby clean and tidy but so were the shower rooms and toilets. It is outstanding to keep places where many people use comfortable throughout the day. I love the tatami resting area on the 1st floor. That was something surprising and unique. The hostel is located in an residential area so the surroundings were serene. The staff was friendly, too. They could communicate in English so I think there was not much language barrier.

I would say the hostel is a bit far from the nearest subway station (Tanimachi 9-chome). There were some small hills on the way to the station as well so it may be a small problem for people with heavy baggage. I was informed that I need to make my own bed. I guess I am lazy lol but it would be better if I could lay in bed immediately without extra work.

My friend and I left this morning after an 8 night stay and we were sorry to leave. The staff is available, adorable, smiling, friendly, always ready to help ; the dormitories are quite large, rather well air-conditioned ; the facilities are freely accessible whatever the time and the hostel is located in a non-touristy area and therefore very quiet. I give this place a 15/10. I would come back with pleasure. A big thank you to Katsu, Hiro, Tomo, Mao, Jake and sorry if I forget any staff members
