June 2023

Was very close to Dotonbori and had excellent metro transport links!! The shower pressure was very good, and there was a lot of space plus extra storage inside the bed area, which was a nice change compared to other hostels I've been in that have been quite cramped. Felt very safe and the atmosphere was really nice, the staff were lovely and accommodating when I wanted to check out early, and there is free breakfast with coffee, toast, and a selection of jams. Also their shampoo smells divine. Was really happy with everything and felt safe leaving my things in the room, which is locked with a key code!

The mattress was so thin, I could feel the wooden frame beneath. Not really an issue for me, but just be aware that the thin mattress is no joke - it is REALLY thin!

beautiful, modern building with nice atmosphere, very chill and friendly vibe, well equipped kitchen, everything was clean; there’s a box for each bed that you can use to store your belongings, doesn’t fit a suitcase but worked just fine for valuables and other stuff – not equipped with a lock though so better bring your own

the mattress was very thin, didn’t sleep too well as it was really hard

I really liked the facilities, it was clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Barely had any privacy when it comes to the shower area because you would have to go downstairs near the lounge where everyone was.

The location was not central and it's quiet except in the mornings since there's a school beside the hostel. The room I was assigned to was on the side where the open field is and it gets quite noisy by 8AM when the kids are playing. The common room is cozy, there's enough electric sockets for if you need to work, wifi is also fast. They provide free breakfast and coffee every morning (which I've never availed) but it's nice to know they do this. They also provide cold tea drinks in the fridge that you can avail of anytime. The bunks are also larger than average hostel bunks which adds to the comfort.

The hostel is about 9-10 minutes walk from the nearest station which is quite a distance when you have your luggage with you. The mattress is also quite thin and you have to put the sheets and duvet covers yourself (I never use duvets at home so I don't really know how to do this lol). There are no lockers and the floor space is quite small so it could be an issue if someone brings in more than 1 large suitcase. You either have to place the suitcases on one end of the room or beside the stairs for the upper bunk (which gets in the way of the person using the lower bunk if you're the one staying upstairs). Not really a big deal, considering the price you're paying, but something to be aware of.

The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable, and the ‘pods’ had a lot of storage space, with a very large section that closed and can be locked if you have your own lock. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were very clean and well equipped. Rooms and sheets were clean, free umbrellas and slippers were available for use, and there were multiple washers and dryers (for a fee). Free breakfast was provided every morning which was nice, and they seemed to offer cheap social events every fortnight. It is also good to keep in mind that it is about 12 minutes walk from the closest train station, which was as expected but just good to remember if you have lots of luggage etc.

Though noise is to be expected from a hostel, it was particularly noisy, with a lot of noise coming from the common rooms with people staying up quite late drinking and making noise, which made it a bit hard to get to sleep. Each time someone moved in the beds, the noise was clearly audible, so if you are sensitive to noise when you fall asleep that is something to keep in mind. There are no actual ‘lockers’ which you can keep your luggage in, but rather case-type sections in the bed area to store valuables in.

Check-in process was easy and the staff were very helpful. The space was very clean and comfortable. Even though the sleeping space is a box, I never felt claustrophobic and it was spacious enough. There're coin-operated washing machines and dryers in the hostel which made laundry very convenient. There're many great food spots around the location and Dotonbori is a short walk away.

While I appreciated the women-only bathroom cubicle on the first-floor, I did not find it effective as the entire bathroom space is mixed anyway. I am assuming the "women only" label was so that women would feel safer in the bathroom so it felt like there isn't much of a difference between the women's bathrooms and the mixed ones but this is just a small thought I had.

Location is near to the center of Osaka…walking distance to supermarket and restaurants, metro…park Shared kitchen is well equipped. Very clean…rooms and bathrooms Lounge is nice just to chill

I really don’t like that we need to enter a security CODE to enter our room (sometime it is very difficult to enter the code). Why can’t they just have a door without security code? This is JAPAN…nobody is going to steal inside the hostel. Inside the capsule, there is a locker to store your money, passport and credit card. I wish that the staff is mindful during breakfast. I don’t think they care at all. They need to check what is needed during that breakfast hour.

The property is very clean and modern as well as being very comfortable. It has a basic kitchen and the showers and bathroom areas are kept clean and are pleasant to use. I stayed in a shared dorm and the little bunk beds are very roomy and have a shelf and a locker inside to keep your things. The place itself is also very close to public transport and in a quiet but accessible location. Excellent value for money too!

The only difficulty was storing large bags in the shared dorm. I had to keep my bag up with me in my bunk.

Good hostel with very warm staff. They are always present and usually talk to guests if they have no other duties. Every time you come and go you will get greeted by the staff. They are very helpful and happily help you if you have any issues. Facilities overall were good. In the bed capsule/bunk ped space there is plenty of space for your own stuff and yo u have small locker inside if needed. Most of the rooms and toilets are on second floor. Girls only room, washing machines, showers and common area are on the first floor. Many times in the evening you can strike a conversation with other guests in the common area. Sometimes they have small events or the staff might make food with guests. There is also Vending machine in the common area where you can get alcohol drinks as well. Closest shops and metro stations are around 700m away and the hostel is very close to Dotonbori. Definitely will go again to this hostel if I am going to stay in Osaka. I had a very good time and made life long friends.

mattresses were a bit thin. Even though I am very used to hard futon at home, the slim mattress and wooden floor can feel quite hard. The lock on the door can be noisy when entering the code for the door.

Location was good since it is near a metro station. The bed was clean and comfortable, extra pillows and blankets were offered, although in limited supply. In the capsule, there was a small shelf, lamp and a storage locker, without a lock, for backpack-sized luggage. Showers and toilets were clean too. In the morning, free and simple breakfast of coffee/tea and toast was provided. The staff were very helpful and nice too.

For the storage compartment, a padlock is sold for 500 yen instead of being leased for free.
