This was my first time being in a guest house. I started being a little bit confused about what I could do or not as I felt I was entering someone else's home. But I actually enjoyed great freedom. I was alone, so I also had privacy. And there are many rooms there. The hotel is also very well placed being very close to a commercial gallery with cheap stores and near the momodani station. Nami is a wonderful woman and very knowledgeable about the area and that came back to the guest home 10 minutes after I asked her a question. Being able to talk together with her and Miko during the breakfast was probably one of my favorite things to do in the morning and helped me start the day well. That's something you can't have in a traditional hotel. I wish I could have stayed longer, and I hope I will be able to come back in the future.

Looking back, the bed was slightly too small for me, but I'm 1.96m tall and I was still be able to sleep comfortably. Also, my time there was too short :(

The host is exceptionally kind and cheerful. During the breakfasts (composed of Japanese green tea, coffee and toast with an assortment of jams/peanut butter/chocolate), she becomes a grandma to us. The common room is very cosy. The guesthouse is quite close to 2 subway stations, and to reach one of them you have to walk through a market street, which is very convenient for a quick way to eat.

The facilities are a bit old. The beds in particular, while comfortable, can be a little noisy, and one of my roommate had trouble with some dust falling down on him.

Nami has an incredible soul. Just an amazing human being. She brings everyone together and treats you like her family. I highly recommend staying here. The atmosphere was amazing

It may take time to communicate check in so I advise sending a message of your arrival time as there may not be anyone there to check you in. However, you are welcome to check yourself in or leave your bags there. The WiFi password in written on the door and it’s very easy to check your self in.

Apart from some of the facilities of the guesthouse being very basic, my overall stay in IM was very pleasant. The logistics of the place is very simple, and easy to understand (since they have many english signs) and its very comfortable area to stay in as well. This being because you have Momodani Shotengai and Station 2-5 mins from there. You can also ask to rent a bicycle for the day as well which makes it much more fun for those wanting to explore Osaka more openly. What can I say about IM's host... She was so hospitable and very friendly, she treated everyone like a friend and made us feel very welcome. Im glad I got to stay with them and feel a taste of Osaka's おもてなし (omotenashi). For solo travellers I would totally recommend. And also for families wanting a full room for themselves. 7.5/10

Though this happens at all guesthouses, you can easily hear people talking across the walls, which may be annoying to some (especially during late hours). Which comes to the thoughtfulness of others. Also since its shared bunk bed you might hit lucky with a snorer (-_-;) You might also be surprised by the very basic shower, but for me as a solo traveller it wasn't a worry (ive seen worse). Again this are things to be expected of a guesthouse, but apart from that it was very enjoyable.

The owner of this hostel is a very charming, warm-hearted and always smiling woman who organized everything perfectly. She took take of the people there and there was always a good vibe. The rooms were small, but alright. Everything was clean and the equipment was quite good. Also: There was a shower with hot water. Good value for the money. Arigato! 😊🙏🏻

The hostel is located a bit outside of the busy city center, which I very much liked as it was a quiet area, but if you prefer to be in Osaka city center, then this one might not be your kind of hostel.

The lady who runs this place, to be honest, makes it and is only really the reason for a good score, that and the value for money. Obviously the price is cheaper compared to other places in Osaka, so we weren't expecting much. The main social space is okay, there is a fridge, 'kitchen', microwave etc, it did however had a weird smell. We had a private twin room, it was okay, clean enough but don't expect luxury, but suited us well. The host Momi is very helpful, although she doesn't speak much English when we first arrived she told us a great place to eat and was very helpful if we had any issues. Location was OK, 10 min walk to nearest metro which was well linked to Osaka city, we did USJ and it took about 45 mins from doorstep to park entrance.

The shared bathroom situation was something else, it was not clean at all and the shower was like sunken in the ground. Although we were in a private room, it was also quite noisy with all the other guests, wall are very thin. I am glad we got a private room not sure if I would've stayed in the dorm.

The guesthouse is run by a wonderful person - MamiSan. She is great and creates a wonderful atmosphere of the place. The location is very good, just a few minutes from the train station. However, the building itself, the rooms and the equipment is quite old at the moment and doesn't look cozy. It satisfies just basic needs, there are some private things here and there. Contact with the staff is great. There is also a nice view of Osaka from the roof.

As I mentioned above - the equipment is quite old and "run down", but everything is clean and working just fine.

Nami-san is so kind. Helpful with directions. The toast she makes is delicious and a good start to the morning. It is easy to get to the Osaka Loop Line station from here (less than 10 minutes covered walk - no worries about rain!) so seeing all of Osaka city is easy. Washing machines on the roof for 300 yen. Clotheslines to dry clothes.

The beds in 201A were terribly uncomfortable. The top mattress on the bunk was the hardest mattress I've ever slept on in 30 years, and too close to the ceiling. The lower bunk had a mattress that was sunk in the middle and stabbed you with springs. My wife slept on the tatami floor and got a better rest than either mattress. Avoid the twin room, especially 201A, at all costs. But, we only paid $30 USD a night, so...

It was a pleasure to be around so friendly people, I stayed at the IM guesthouse for 3 weeks and it was such a good time. Nami-san the owner is a heartwarming person, she always makes a little breakfast for everyone (from 8:30 to 9:30 just so you know) and the livingroom is great to connect with other travlers. Everything is a little old and has it own charm (but the Toilets are hightech). I will absolutely come back in the future. Arigatogozaimasu Nami-san

We had a wonderful stay at the IM Guest House for 6 days. Nami was super nice, always kindly replies to our questions. Plus the breakfast was great, and we could socialise with other travelers during the breakfast in the commun area. The guest house is next to the Osaka Loop line (O line), so it was perfect to go to the center of Osaka, as well as USJ and for day trips like to Kobe or Nara. It is also next to a cozy commercial street, where you can find several Konbini, a supermarket and local shops and restaurants.
