About 6 mins walk from train station. Property is not big and located within a residential area, very quiet environment. Nearby no mini mart or eateries. Just need to walk back to the train station for your meals or for mini marts. Staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Upon checking in, everything is explained clearly. A pamphlet in English is also provided. They allowed me to store my luggage with them when I checked out so that I can visit the blue pond and shirogane waterfall. Property is like a Scandinavian cottage. Pine wood used extensively. Room is pretty compact. My room comes with a bunk bed. Just that the top bunk did not have a mattress. Bed is comfortable. In the room there is a table and mini fridge. I think there is a small TV as well (cannot remember). Facilities are very clean. Wifi connection is perfect. Tea and coffee is provided 24 hrs. After 9 pm, the tea and coffee is moved to the small reception area. A relatively small cozy lounge where one can eat and drink. Unfortunately it opens only from 8 am to 9 pm. I highly recommend this property when visiting Biei. Greatest regret was staying only for one night. Definitely coming back again.

The interior was very cozy, walls inside gave off cozy cabin vibes. Everything felt clean, bathrooms and toilets felt and looked clean. I never bumped into anyone, never had to wait for shower use. Everyone was pretty quiet besides the normal sounds of people passing through or walking in the hallways. Staff communication was clear and straightforward. They have very strict check in time as many other stays in Japan are. Rooms were very cute, cozy, and spacious enough for one person. It’s like the dorm room I’ve never had.

Nothing really except for the strictness of check in time, but I think that’s normal. Personal experience it was really cold and I had to wander outside until check in time. But I guess I could’ve tried asking if I could wait inside.

It’s close to the JR station in a walkable distance and there is a Lawson just opposite to the inn. I like the wooden structure of the inn, the room , bathroom and the common area are very clean and tidy. The atmosphere there is very quiet like Biei , it’s a good place to take a rest . The vibe in common area is very relaxed with the music played, the coffee made from the coffee machine is very nice and the trial tasting of local product is very impressive. I did try and bought some in the tourist info centre. And I really like the smell of the personal care product in the bathroom which does suit the atmosphere of the inn. I will come back when I visit biei next time.

Phottage Inn Biei is a cute and cozy spot just a 10-minute walk from the train station. The cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The rooms are clean and come with a desk, fan, and fridge. While the toilets and bathrooms are shared, they're always kept extremely clean. Plus, there's a washer and dryer available for use. The lounge area is a great place to relax, with free tea, coffee, and snacks. There's also a microwave if you need to heat up any food. One of the coolest things about this inn is its nature photography theme. The lounge is decorated with beautiful photos of nature and animals, which really adds to the charm. If you're into photography, you'll love that they rent out tripods and ladders. The staff here are super friendly and helpful. Big shout out to Tamotsu-san for all his help! Overall, Phottage Inn Biei is a great place to stay, especially if you appreciate nature and photography. I'd definitely stay here again!

Extremely up consumer price index, which means, low cost and high quality products/service! The staffs are friendly, the facility comes with awesome coffee and snack counter, a small photographer exhibition supporting local artists. The building construction is also done to perfection! In the room we stayed, there was 0% air leak in any corner touching the outer elements. We could even ventilate a little without losing too much heat! It was just perfectly constructed. We were in awe without reserve. The staffs were also able to speak quite enough English for us to feel that there’s no need to exercise our Japanese but if you choose to, you should definitely still speak Japanese in Japan. It was the most valuable stay in Biei.

It was a little too perfect that It made me super aware of the seams of the building corners in every rental stay we stayed in after finishing at Phottage.

I dropped my luggage off and explored the area. I highly recommend hiring electric bike as buses don’t run very often. Take the overpass over the tracks (entrance is opposite bike rental shop) as this is shortest way to walk there. Coffee machine was an added bonus. Everything was very clean. Many restaurants were fully booked so some planning may be required if travelling at peak times.

The lounge doesn’t open till 8am which I think is a bit late. But there was access to hot water and coffee bag in the lobby.

Was based in the middle of all the locations we wanted to go.. Easy walk to surrounding locations for food. Lawsons directly across road. Staff were friendly. Place was very clean and warm in common areas and bedroom

Noise of other guests travels a bit but for the most it's quiet and chilling place.

It was close to the train station, and the toiletries provided were convenient. The room was exactly what I needed and nothing more.

Theres no AC in the room. The hall way was AC'd and we were given instructions to keep the door open and use the fan to move cold air into the room. Luckily, it was very cold that night and we were able to keep the windows open.

The staff were super friendly and nice. The facility and rooms were comfortable and clean. I was worried it might be cold but the rooms were very warm.

It a 10-15 minute walk from the station, but a bit hard in the snow with luggage.

It had a relaxed cafe vibe with a good common area and included coffee machine. Nice to chill at the end of the day. Both the bedroom and the bathroom facilities were clean and spacious.
