What can we say! If we could give more than a 5-star rating we would! There was so much to love about this stay......it ticked so many boxes! Our room was really large with its own bathroom and a separate doorway leading down to a quaint pool.....picturesque and big enough in which to refresh. The place was really clean and spacious with quiet areas to sit with the complimentary tea and coffee provided. Itisha and her 'helpers' provided the most wonderful meals.....delicious and flavoursome with a unique flair in its presentation. Simon, on the other hand, lent his hand to coffee bean roasting and making local fruit-flavoured ice-cream (yes, even durian!) as well as organic gardening which provided an array of produce for Itisha to utilise. Some of their produce they had beautifully packaged which solved our quandary about gifts for home.....very unique and healthy! I know our family and friends will love them! The accomodation was great. Close to the airport - I walked there from the airport. Was greeted by the very friendly staff with a cool drink and a snack. The room was very clean, quiet and AC. Bathroom was shared and was very clean. It had a plunge pool as well which was very welcome. Comfortable sitting area, books to read. The breakfast was amazing. Bowl of oats soaked with fruit, juice, coffee then a vegan wrap. Great service as well. The owners are so helpful and friendly. Restaurants close by as well for evening meal though also have dinner club on site that operates most nights. I highly recommend this accommodation and would stay again.

What did we like about the property? In a nutshell, the people and the food! Tisha and Simon (and their helpers) are as friendly and hospitable as any hosts we have ever stayed with, and their home-cooked meals are off the charts. Our welcome was delightful, with warm, family greetings and delicious home-made flowery drinks under an awning. We were made to feel like a cross between VIPs and old friends. We played with the gorgeous household cats and relaxed in the quirky swimming pool until dinner. Tisha had been in touch in advance about food, and she had been incredibly solicitous about what we might want, but what she produced was remarkable. There’s not space here to go into detail, but the main dish was an extraordinary mixture of Malaysian with one surprising Italian ingredient, with a family story to accompany and explain it, made with the freshest, most aromatic ingredients from Simon’s own smallholding, complex without being fussy, and personalised to our individual tastes (eg level of spice). It was truly gourmet comfort food of the highest order, in fact as good as I’ve ever eaten. Starters and dessert were similarly fresh and home-made, and breakfast the next day - porridge oats with a range of home-made and local additions, served like a work of art - was impeccable. Our room (two big double beds with an en-suite shower room) was clean, comfortable and nicely air-conditioned and we slept well, but the reason to stay here is Tisha and Simon’s exceptional hospitality. I cannot commend it highly enough.

Nothing. If you don’t like cats or if you want a big swimming pool then this place is not for you. Otherwise, no drawbacks.

We have been staying in many similar places in various countries, but this surely is top of the list! Simon and Tisha and their staff really make you feel most welcome. The house, the rooms and the garden are beautifully decorated and kept in a very good shape. As most reviews were raving about the food, we were curious to try it and they did not exaggerate! For dinner and breakfast we always got a great introduction of the food we were about to taste and attention to detail is not just a phrase here. The signature "blue pea" drink and the edible flowers are really unique! And even better, we could take home some coffee and ingredients. A special thank you for the wonderful care I got by everybody after my small mishap where I injured myself! Our son especially loved the cats and after three days, it was hard to say goodbye. We definitely recommend staying more than one night just to relax and take some time off a busy travel schedule!

Would have loved to stay longer!

We loved everything about Bikes & Tours Bed and Breakfast. The staff are exceptional and extremely friendly, the room was great, the accommodation generally is very stylish, the pool was perfect for relaxing in and the food - the food! - was the best we've had on our trip. Tisha clearly puts a lot of thought and care into the food and is obviously an expert in local gastronomy. Our dinner was absolutely outstanding (we're vegetarians, and this wasn't an issue at all, in case you're wondering!) and breakfast was too. We feel so lucky to have booked this place! Equally Simon and the team are involved in some really fascinating local, sustainable farming practices which we would've loved to have spoken more about if we had been there for longer. We were just stopping over in Lahad Datu for one night during a longer trip to Borneo. This was perfect for that but also would be great for a longer stay, we can imagine. 10/10, recommend!

It´s a perfect little hideaway in Lahad Datu. We had to stay one night in LAhad Datu, before we went on to the close by Tabin Wildfilfe area. At the arrival we were surprised by a great welcome drink. In the afternoon we´ve spent our time at the pool in the garden, to relax after staying a couple of hours in the car. The room was quite big and clean. The breakfast next morning was awesome! Sadly we were not able to try the dinner in the restaurant, as it was the closing day when we arrived. So we have to come back and get some dinner there next time.

This is a wonderful little oasis of a place in Lahad Datu. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and really made my wife and I feel so welcome. The food was exceptional, and all freshly prepared and homemade! We stayed either side of our trip into Danum Valley. There isn't loads to do in Lahad Datu but at Bike and Tours you can spend your time in the garden by the pool or up on the balcony reading, swimming, eating, drinking lovely coffee, and watching the day go by. Beautiful! They have a little shop on site where you can buy homemade foods and other items such as sambalt and wicker boxes. Couldn't recommend this more! Thank you!

The best place to stay in Lahad Datu! A lovely little oasis with a calm energy and lovely hosts. The communal spaces are great, we especially liked the balcony with all the orchids! The pool area outside is lovely to relax in and the whole space feels quite romantic. The food and drink are something special with a lot of the ingredients grown/sourced locally. We had a dinner one evening which was fabulous and they accommodated easily for vegetarians with the same dinner but with vegetarian substitutes. The breakfast was vegetarian by default and we were blown away by the porridge course. The food is plenty and their homemade pea flower drink just keeps coming! The hosts were fabulous with helping us sort out some transport issues we were having and the staff are attentive and friendly. We would 100% recommend!

The only thing is that the room we stayed in is not big enough to do much more than sleep and get changed in so there isn't so much private area to relax in during the day (the bathroom is also shared). However, there are a lot of lovely communal spaces to use including the balcony, garden/pool space and the restaurant downstairs so we certainly had other spaces to relax and mostly had the space to ourselves anyway.

We stayed here for 1 night as a family of 3 using it as a break in our journey into the Danum Valley. We flew into Lahad Datu airport which is a 5-10 min Grab ride away. Bike and Tours B&B is a lovely place - the hosts (Itisha and Simon) are very welcoming and our family room, whilst basic, was very clean and perfect for our needs. Our room had direct access down some stairs into the garden with a delightful small pool and sun loungers/chairs. We ate dinner and breakfast here and the local dishes which were served were delicious and plentiful and Itisha explained the dishes and their ingredients. The hosts also checked the day before that we were fine to eat fish (and spice) and what, if any, dietary restrictions we had. Would highly recommend staying here and we hope to return when exploring more of Borneo.

Staff were fantastic. They are a family run B&B and really made us feel welcome. We had welcome drinks on arrival, a handmade breakfast and homemade passionate water delivered for us whilst we were at the pool. The rooms are relatively standard, but are clean and comfortable and have all of the amenities to hand. It's also super close to the airport (less than a 5 minute drive). And most of the tour operators for things such as the Danum Valley there are nearby. We actually found out that they also do their own tours!
