breakfast was varied and plentiful...choice of eggs any style, by the friendly chef. freshly made tea or coffee by the lovely staff, who were always available to offer advice and suggestions if asked. rooms older Bali style but clean and more than comfortable. several bottles of water provided each day. quiet, except for the occasional troop of monkeys scampering over your roof! having said that, they provided heaps of entertainment morning and evening jumping through the trees directly in front of our upstairs balcony. lots of other lovely wildlife to be seen as well. all in all, we loved the tranquility of villa Molek which made a pleasant change after KL and Penang.

A retreat from all the tourist traffic and crowds in Langkawi. Walking distance to the beach, restaurants, markets, shops and rental car office A small older style Malaysian hotel with super attentive staff in a sheltered forest setting with an open air restaurant and a lovely small pool. Our unit was a one bedroom king with living room, small kitchenette and a large covered outdoor balcony.. Fantastic breakfast with cook to order omelets and European style breakfast buffet overlooking the courtyard. A wonderful alternative to the big tourist hotels on the island

If you are looking for a glitzy self-contained western-style tourist resort, this is not your place. If you are looking for a traditional Malaysian retreat with lots of character and easy walking access to everything at a fraction of the tourist hotel price this place is ideal.

The property was spacious and clean. Had everything we needed. Open plan kitchen / breakfast bar dining and living area with sofa and armchairs. Separate space for the bedroom, the bed was very comfortable! A large vanity space with wardrobe leading onto the semi outdoor WC and shower. Breakfasts had a nice selection including tasty omelets and coffee! The staff were very friendly and helped us book a taxi to the airport at short notice. 15/20 minute steady walk to the local shops including some bars and restaurants. A general store was a 5 minute walk away and there are plenty of places to rent scooters. In the evening we found there were more restaurants and bars set out on the main road nearer the property. As close as a 5 minute walk away. We stayed over Christmas and they left a gorgeous little food hamper in our room - with mince pies and cookies! Nice touch. If I was traveling alone I would feel very comfortable and secure here.

Although the property is well looked after there are some areas needing maintenance around walkways and gardens.

Warm welcome on arrival and such a lovely room. Much bigger than the pics suggest and set around a great (and quiet) pool in a tropical garden. It really is like a huge apartment, massive comfortable bed, cosy sitting room, spacious kitchen area, great dressing room area near the bathroom and big terrace to sit and listen to tropical birdsong and see monkeys swinging through the trees. Such a change from big impersonal hotels, the staff are all really lovely and the breakfast is a real treat. You are a few minutes walk from the beach and a 10 -15 walk to the busy Penang strip. Plenty of eateries around both Western and Malaysian. We loved it.

I ❤️ Villa Molek! So many things to tell you but I'll start with the welcome drinks. That's a... welcomed surprise, top class hospitality. The manager, Rosli, is soft spoken and professional. Let's get this straight. I'm not in anyway affiliated to VM, not paid to write this review. Paid for my own accommodation, in fact 2 villas. VM is built to resemble a Malay village set amongst the tropical trees, palms and bamboo so expect it to be rustic. Someone complained that the "location in front of the hotel is not very nice but this is usually the case". Please check out Malay villages and reassess your feedback. Nothing wrong with the front. There are steps as well as a ramp. It's a tidy gravel driveway. I hi-5 those giving 10 points, they get it. I concur with each and every review. I'll add that it's a home away from home but without having to lift a finger, just kick back and chill! In the villa itself the ambience, as some call it "vibe", is rustic. The wooden furniture, timber wall panel, and lovely four poster bed complete with mosquito netting, all tie in with the, I'm going to introduce a new concept to some of you, Kampung culture. I'm totally in love with it. None of the "brand new" plasticky, artificial things that so fill our lives (as someone mentioned the room facilities are old, well at least the furniture lasts). It's old world charm. A big plus, power sockets are dotted throughout the villa. Someone complained that the pool needs to be cleaned regularly. Well that happens when the pool is built near trees, so are just leaves, naturally doing their thing with gravity's help. Yet someone complained about the breakfast. I find it sufficient and coffee is good. I had poached eggs one morning and scramble eggs the next, thank you chef. I don't get those who leave a one word 1 point review.

We booked the villa without much expectations except for its close proximity to the beach, restaurants, and convenience store. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the hospitality of Peter, his caring staff, and the six resident cats! The villa had a homely feeling. During our stay, we spend much time indoor due to the rain. However, everyone made us feel at home with their smiles and hospitality. The cats roam around the villa freely but if you are not a fan of one, they leave you alone. All in all, we would recommend this villa for anyone visiting Langkawi.

The villa was extremely spacious, quiet and breakfast was quite good. The staff allowed us a late check out at no extra charge, which was appreciated. The staff also went to extra effort to help my sister book a massage.

We requested twin beds and this was confirmed by the property months in advance. When we arrived on the day, they informed us that the twin bed villa was not available. There was no explanation or discount offered. The living room had windows with no curtains facing some bright lights that stayed on all night. This made the sleeping area extremely bright at night which made it very difficult to sleep. We were able to darken the room a bit using our towels and extra pillows as makeshift curtains, but it feels like this could be easily fixed by installing curtains on the windows in the living area.

The staff and the apartment make this place. They did small things that meant so much, like leaving us umbrellas to walk down to breakfast if it was raining. Delivering freshly made biscuits during the day. A small gift when we left. Great location with lots of places to eat and see the sunset on the beach. Breakfast was a feast with numerous items ranging from homemade cakes to freshly made omelettes.

The swimming pool was outdated and needed cleaning. It was the only thing. Otherwise, it would have gotten 10 out of 10

the pool area wasn’t kept up well - the pool was murky our first day there, the cushions on loungers were old and worn, the area around the pool wasn’t clean. the receptionist who checked us (I don’t think he was regular receptionist, it was Ramadan) was very pushy about selling us a mangrove tour the minute we walked in. we took the tour and found it sold down the street for $120 R cheaper for two down the street. The breakfast area was closed and they bought breakfast in our room - pretty limited and boring. there was only one fork so we had to share. The first day the breakfast included some nice baked goods but after that the only baked goods were store light bread. we did enjoy the peace and quiet there, the location and the comfort of the room.
