August 2023

I had the pleasure of staying at Casablanca Hotel for one night in late July 2023. The hotel's location, just around the corner from Revolution Square and within a hundred meters of Mexico City's main avenue, Paseo de la Reforma, was perfect for exploring the city's most famous landmarks, including the Revolution Monument, Angel of Independence, Diana the Huntress Fountain, and the Palace of Fine Arts. Public transportation stops for Metrobuses, trolleybuses, and tour buses were conveniently close by. The area also offered several Starbucks cafes, diverse restaurants offering breakfast and business lunches, pharmacies, the large Reforma 222 shopping center, and banks. Check-in and Interior: Upon arrival, I reached the hotel three hours before the official check-in time. The staff informed me that my room would be ready in a couple of hours and kindly offered to store my luggage while I explored the hotel. Despite the delay, my room was still not ready at the official check-in time. However, one of the senior receptionists promptly solved the issue by upgrading me to a higher category room at no extra charge, which I gladly accepted. The room with a king-size bed featured ample workspace, a coffee machine, a sofa, and a TV with numerous channels. The staff was exceptionally friendly, courteous, and accommodating, and their fluency in English made communication effortless. The hotel boasted an aesthetic interior, and the rooms had a fresh and modern look. The rooftop offered an outdoor heated pool with a bar, providing a relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast: Although my rate didn't include breakfast, it was available for a separate fee. The cost was $220MXN per person, and guests could enjoy buffet-style dining also at any time, with a slightly higher cost of $250MXN per person. Wi-Fi Connectivity: The hotel's Wi-Fi was outstanding, with a consistent speed of around 100 Mbps, peaking at 170 Mbps.

Nothing.

Everything was excellent. What you see in the pictures shown is even better once you get to the hotel. The hotel has a really good location, just some steps y you get to the Revolution Monument. There are plenty of bars 🍸 and restaurants that you can get there by walking 1-4 minutes. But if you don't want to go out, the hotel's restaurants and bar are really good, I can tell you that it's even cheaper than some bar and restaurants in the area. The staff was completely friendly and helpful. I'll be looking forward to booking this hotel again.

The room's size is a bit small. This is not really a problem or a complaint. If you're on your own, the room is just perfect, but it feels a bit small for two people

It was an amazing experience. They were really flexible with us and let us to check out late and also gave us a room on 11th floor. Breakfast was amazing. We did not use the pool so cannot comment on that

The last day when we wanted to get a taxi, one of the staff was convincing us to take a private taxis in front of the hotel instead of calling for the pink official taxis was telling us private taxi is safer than the pink one. The taxi wanted to charge us double the amount. We found another taxi by ourselves

- Amazing breakfast buffet, especially the fruit assortment (really one of the best fruit buffets I've ever seen) - really friendly staff, from reception, to bell boys, cleaning lady, restaurant staff - good location, 100m from Monumento a la Revolución and a block away from Paseo de la Reforma (near the Glorieta de las Mujeres que Luchan) - complimentary parking

- Shower could be better: hard to control the temperature (mostly way too hot) and not a lot of water - Air co: a bit hard to adjust and a bit too noisy - We stayed at Hotel Casa Blanca twice in 2 weeks; first stay the room was large and spacious; in the second, the rooms were rather small - there's a swimming pool, but even in a really hot day, the water was way too cold for a swim :-(

I love that the hotel is at a street that is not busy, so it is a pretty quiet environment (and easy to get Uber). It is next to the Monumento a la Revolucion, so you can find stalls selling souvenirs which is a bonus. There are a few restaurants and a convenience store within walking distance. I enjoy the small but lovely rooftop swimming pool (open until 8 pm). Fast and smooth check-in and out; staff at front desk & rooftop bar were friendly and helpful. It has a restaurant but didn't get to try the breakfast due to my early flight. Another bonus: next to its reception, there is a travel company that operates bus tours to various interesting places in Mexico! I would say for the price paid, it was an excellent choice!

The room I got was small but it is not a deal breaker (after all I was a solo traveler 😁)

I loved how central the location was and how easy it was to get to by Uber/public transport. The room itself was clean, comfortable and had all the facilities we needed for our time there. They had a swimming pool and rooftop terrace which was nice and offered drinks/food and they also had a small gym. The staff were always welcoming and attended to our needs if we needed anything.

They only had 1 pillow each for me and my partner which was a bit uncomfortable at times but they managed to find an extra pillow. Our room was a smaller than we expected since it was supposed to be a queen room. Everything else was great, wish we opted in for breakfast to try it!

Staff, location, and hygiene were impeccable. Really appreciated the rooftop facilities, including the swimming pool, chairs, and spacious lounge.

There was no internet connection throughout the day and night for any of my devices (multiple iPhones and a business laptop). As staff explained to me this was unusual, I was granted access to the premium WiFi network—albeit in vain.

It was an alright location, 10 min walk to the beach and a quick taxi to all of the other areas in Puerto Escondido. I think next time we'd probably choose something with a better walking score though! Great locale if you're driving or scootering though. All very fine.

No towels or extra toilet paper were provided in the room. Felt like we had to ask for every little thing. No English at the reception which is fine since I know a decent amount of Spanish but not sure how anyone without that would get by!

The room was very nice as were all the facilities, The bathroom was adequately wheelchair accessible with bars and a fixed seat in the shower. The breakfast was very good indeed. All staff were excellent, especially on reception and when we talked with Mr Ramirez.

There was an earthquake while we were n the hotel and our room was on the third floor. The evacuation steps do not have ramps. However, there is a wheelchair accessible room on the first floor, and although there are not ramps, this is maybe feasible in this situation. In general, and as often in Mexico, wheelchairs ramps are at much too steep an angle,

Great location, could walk to everything in the centre of the city. Breakfast was excellent. Room nice and pool (small but wet!) a perfect way to recover at the end of a hot tiring day. Staff were very friendly.

Hotel restaurant only had very basic dinner offering and no interesting restaurants in walking distance.
