Loved that there were golf carts, umbrellas and beach chairs and beach towels provided! Also bicycles, but we did not use. Jorge and staff were amazing, from the moment we arrived, until the moment we left. Coordinating cabs, holding bags, providing water and ice, even a bandage when I cut myself. Cafe Bucerias next door had phenomenal food and margaritas! Space was clean, and had a toaster, blender, coffee maker with pots and pans, silverware and full size fridge. Used the golf cart to go to get groceries for our stay and make some meals in the room.

A lot of construction all over town, so lots of street noise and banging. Got used to it, but definitely took away some of the 'relaxing' vibe. Noise from bars across the highway were audible as well. Towels and sheets could be a little nicer. Sheets were rough and somewhat sticky in the warm weather, and we all love a plush towel! Housekeeping did change out daily, so always fresh!

Loved the spacious, airy, clean, comfortable Mexican style suites with fully equipped kitchen, AC, WiFi, laundry in suite, large balcony, BBQs and terrace. Friendly and helpful staff. Complimentary use of golf cart, bikes, beach chairs and umbrellas. Easy walk to beach and restaurants. Would love to return and will recommend highly to family and friends.

No negatives to report...Everything was great. We were a large family group of 6 adults and 3 small children staying in building 2 in the two Grand 2 bedroom aparments: Casa Big John and Casa Mini. We loved the pool and the large common areas. We had a wonderful stay at Refugio Del Mar

Incredible staff. Every question was answered. The grounds and the pools and the rooms are super clean. Everyone was incredibly friendly and it was super convenient to grab beach chairs and an umbrella to bring to the beach. Plenty of beach towels and could take the golf cart around town.

Beach has lots of litter especially in the water and dog and horse poop on the beach. Not the resort's fault but something to be aware of is how the town cares for its beach.

our little apartment was very clean and because it was on the ground floor, it was nice and cool so we didn’t have to use the air conditioning. We were in building 2 which has its own pool which we liked a lot.

There was a nice kitchen area with a full-size refrigerator and four burner stove but only one small frying pan! Also, you could use a golf cart for free but had to pay for water that charge, although was not expensive, I think was unnecessary.

The apartment and area we were in were both quiet and comfortable. Having a pool for 8 apartments was delightful and the outdoor ambiance was great. Easy walk to the beach. restaurants and even a used English bookstore. Our stay was relaxing and we never felt overwhelmed by too many activities or tourists. The staff was very responsive to our needs and the housekeeping staff were delightful. Perfect place for retirees to spend a few weeks.

Our only real complaint was the lack of pots and pans and basic kitchenware like salad bowls. Strainer. Grater etc. We only had two frying pans and one very small pot.cominh from Canada we couldn't really bring our own.

I stayed in building 1 last year, the foyer is beautiful. This year we stayed in building 3 and it was very good. Next time I'm going to ask for a room in building 2, the courtyard is beautiful. We were in a studio which was very roomy and clean. The location is great, one block from the beach. The beach equipment (chairs and umbrellas) provided are in excellent condition and convenient. We did not use the golf carts that were available to guests. The popular cafe/restaurant provides excellent food. All and all, a fabulous hotel!

We liked the beach proximity. Not busy as PV, and we appreciated the beach dynamics. Bucerias is a laid back town. Mexico Hwy 200 runs through Bucerias dividing it, east and west. The west side of the town is the beach side, which is 3 blocks wide, north to south, where we stayed, parallel to Hwy 200. East side is the old town, and expands towards the mountains, the affordable side. This small hotel, bldg 1 and 2, are 1 bedroom condos rented out by the owners.

The 1 bedroom apt was well appointed and spacious, hard to find anything not to like. The couch is probably our only gripe, its not comfortable. Nevertheless, we are just appreciative and thankful, cup halfull kind of optimists.

The property is in a great location, approximately a block and a half from the beach. There is an abundance of restaurants near and Cafe Bucerias on site. Very clean, updated rooms. Nicely stocked kitchen. The use of beach chairs, umbrellas and the golf carts is a very nice addition.

A bit of noise from the street but not terrible

The staff at Refugio del Mar is wonderful, the lodging itself is exceptional and the location in central Bucerias is very convenient. It was very hot and humid when we were there so the air-conditioned rooms were especially appreciated. The pool is wonderful, the gardens are lovely and there are great places to eat and have coffee or drinks nearby. The small seafood restaurant right next door became a family favorite.

The property has three buildings. Two are on the opposite sides of the corner Benito Juarez and Francisco Madero. The other building is on Francisco Madero. All are very well kept, have pools and nice common areas. The cafe Bucerias (in the hotel) has a variety of nice dishes served inside, on the street, to go or room service. The Refugio has a golf cart for guest use making grocery shopping easy. Although there is a small store a block away. The main city square is four long blocks away. (three to the craft market then a block of market) Along the way are shops and restaurants. The staff will loan out beach towels, umbrellas, and beach chairs. (two blocks to the beach …. an easy walk. or get the golf cart) We we’re in the building with the cafe/services and roof top pool. The pool was clean and the common area was well appointed. Most room have a BBQ on the terrace but there is one in the common areas as well. The manager and his staff are very friendly and helpful. We Couldn’t be happier with the service and attentive care. As always some Spanish helps. (always best to know a bit of the language while in Mexico.) Cabs are close. Uber?? Possible.

Bucerias is booming with construction. Its almost impossible to get away from and that is true of the Refugio. They are building another building across the street on Francisco Medero. Construction goes all day except Sunday. It’s loud sometimes. Not inside so much but while using the roof top pool or reading in the roof common area. There IS a quite spell during the afternoon siesta. I expect this will continue well into 2022.
