Location, staff, pool. They recommended a tour guide they used who was fantastic. They also link to a restaurant with the same name less than 10 minutes. All good

Challenging question and don’t know if it’s the property or more a gripe with Booking.com. We booked and then another family we met had booked direct. We paid the same price, however they got better rooms and breakfast was included for them. I would prefer breakfast to be an option out not opt in (didn’t see it available when booking) Good value for money. No complaints

Our room was on the top floor and they had an amazing view of the ocean and the distant mangroves, a really cool spiral staircase, and a nice little cat named Selina. They also had a balcony right outside the room that was cozy and perfect for watching the flamingos and other birds fly in the morning. Nice clean pool too. -by the way, this was written by a kid.-

I paid additional $200 (Mexican) and update a room. It was a wonderful room with a view to a lagune. Absolute wonderful. We got up early due to jet leg and from a balcony obtained 180 degree view to free space, boats going to fishing and with birds singing at the background. Bed is comfortable,. Bathroom is OK. Good place for one night flamingo tour.

No breakfast except coffee available, though the guidebook says it is. However, a 10% discount coupon is offered for the restaurant of the same name down the street a bit. Awoken in the night by a very strong smell of sewage during rainstorms.

Good location, good size room with balcony, nice garden and pool. The hotel has a number of wifi connections, so we managed (but slow). The room was cleaned every day.

One of the bed's mattresses was very uncomfortable, like sleeping in a hole. Should be changed. The other bed was comfortable. .

We have arrived to the hotel with a rented car about 8 PM, 2 hours late than stated check-in hours. But it wasn't a problem - we have still found a man in the reception, who didn't speak any english at all. But he has helped us with our luggage and carried the biggest ones to the 3rd floor (there are no elevator). Room surprisingly was very spacious with good air conditioning. But the best thing came next morning, when we were waked up by various sounds of birds. Our room has a balcony where we sitting, eating our own breakfast and listening to these amazing sounds of nature. Later hotel offered us a very basic breakfast (cut banana and watermelon, sandwich and orange juice) and again nobody spoke even a word in English :) Then we went to the pier to search a boat for a tour to the lagoons. Found it very easily, there were dozen of options just for 1000 MXN per boat. We have asked for a late check-out, but hotel refused, because our room has been booked for the following night, but they allowed to leave our car near the hotel door. Actually it was one of the best hotels we have stayed during our trip in Mexico. Next time we will try to stay there for a longer period than 1 night.

There is not too much what to do after the sunset at 6 PM. Rio Lagartos village is empty at dark with running wild dogs on the streets (but they are not aggressive). Hotel location in Google Maps is incorrect. Thanks God I have read about it in one review before arrival, otherwise I can't imagine how I would found this hotel. Owner of the hotel must fix it immediately. Hotel is located near the pier, but outside of the center of the city where you can find 2 small shops and few restaurant - it's about 10-15 min walk to the center. Haven't tested the pool, because we haven't enough time for this activity :(

Room was comfortable and the location was excellent. A pier just in front of the hotel made it extremely easy for our tour to pick us up for a boat ride on the river. We went to La mojaritta restaurant literally at the end of the road which served great food.

WiFi was poor, though this seems to be a recurring theme around most of the places we stayed at. Not a deal breaker as we relied on mobile data, however if one needs this might be an issue. Breakfast was extremely basic, cheese on toast and a small plate of fruit. Don’t expect it to keep you going all day.

Nice terrace with the river view. Wooden decoration and swimming pool. Nice car parking.

No breakfast available. Price of a boat trip to the lagoon is double than what you can buy at the street. The village offers nothing but a lagoon trips, so good to stay max for 1 night. The earlier you take a boat the better to see the wildlife.

The staff is really kind and the localisation is great. It is really calm as well. The outdoor are clean and cute. If you want to discover Rio Lagartos, you should directly ask at the front desk for Jose. Sadly he was not available for us but his colleague replaced him and she was amazing. We paid 1800 pesos for the boat and we had a great time. This is a nice place to stay

Location is great, the clean room with everything you need to spend one or two nights in this hotel, pool was nice with shower outside. If you plan to visit the reserva Rio Lagartos and watch the birds and perhaps see a crocodile, with boat, go early in the morning it is the best time and return to the hotel for breakfast.
