Spotless clean. Spacious. Stylish. Responsible airport pick up provided. Excellent service.

Took a while to warm up the room for the night (it was +5, quite cold nights). But it’s a minimal issue.

Everything was perfect, from the moment we were in touch with Manu (hotel manager) before our arrival, our stay till our departure. It's been a while I had this feeling of hotel staff being genuinly happy to assist the guests with anything - and here it was. Truly welcoming approach, exceptional service, tasty menu, blooming gardens, clean facility and mostly attentive hotel staff. The goal of our trip was to relax, enjoy sunny days by the pool and discover Agadir gems. We made it all! If you are looking for a calm, quite, high service quality and friendly place - this is you hotel in Agadir. Thanks a million to whole Dar Maktoub's hotel staff!

The only thing to consider in advance is the location - you need a taxi for each trip to the city as it's not a walking distance. However, I think it's fully clear from hotels info, so maybe just somehting to keep in mind considering your schedule during the vacation.

We stayed for one night before our flight home and would have liked to have stayed longer and explored more. The property is situated on a fairly busy road and the entrance is through an electric gate. The hotel is set in beautiful gardens with a large swimming pool. We ate in the restaurant and really enjoyed our meal. The service and food were exceptional if a little on the pricey side.

We found it a little tricky entering off the road and more so on departure having to reverse out on to this road with no security people to help guide us. The car park is quite small so a bit of a squeeze to park. Our double room was near to the road and was a little bit on the noisey side from the passing traffic during the night. In the morning we had very little water coming out of the taps in our bathroom.

The hotel has just 10 bedrooms, so guest numbers are very low and the atmosphere is completely laid-back. The swimming pool is huge (big enough for a much larger hotel!) and beautifully maintained. The gardens and landscaping are lovely. Never a problem to get a bed by the pool at anytime of day. Lunch is available by the pool and dinner in the cosy open-air restaurant beyond the pool. Our room (#1) was very comfortable in a slightly boho/Moroccan style and had a large living area with a very comfortable bed in a separate section off it.

About 50% of the main dishes on the dinner menu needed to be ordered 24 hours in advance, which meant a limited choice if eating there spontaneously. The driving directions to the hotel, that we received in the hotel’s confirmation email, were completely inaccurate and meant that a 30 minute journey took us 2 hours (we got lost in the depths of Agadir as we had no local SIM to look at Google!). The road signs we saw did not match anything in the directions we had been given. I would advise simply taking a taxi from the airport OR making sure you can access Google maps.

I came here with my aunt for a little getway, we really liked this place as it was small and not a lot of people in it (i think only 10 rooms), breakfast was very nice and tasty and had everything we needs from moroccan food to international food. The pool is huge and most of the time empty so its much better than going to hotels with their pools full of people. To finish all staff is really nice and helpful at all times and the dog is so cute :)

So didn’t see this in the previous comments so wanted to say it, the parking is for me a negative point as its really small and if its full you dont have the choice to leave the car outside. We were lucky that we found place everytime but some didnt, i think it can be a point to develop

The complex is beautiful, a real oasis. The gardens are beautifully maintained and the atmosphere is so relaxed. The staff were very friendly, warm and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious, with fresh omelette on request and a great selection of cured meat, cheese, cereals and baked goods. The pool area and bar made for a great spot to chill throughout the day and the pétanque area was great fun!

You need to take a taxi or have your own car as the road is not really walkable. But we knew this prior to booking so it’s not really a criticism! Everything was great.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Manu makes you feel at home and welcomes everyone. All of the staff are knowledgeable about the area and excursions can be booked with them. The rooms are clean and tidy and the reviews seen were great and did not disappoint. The hotel owner and their family were visiting too and made us feel very welcome too. The food is exceptional and everything tasted great. The dining area is nice and just the right size with great views. The pool area was beautiful and at times it felt like we were the only ones there. Nice and peaceful.

No tea or coffee making facilities in your room. Rooms need to be sprayed so they are free from pests after they are cleaned. Pool bar should be available during the day to order drinks. On the evening it was a little quiet as everyone tends to eat then nothing happens as the pool bar is closed and there is no music or socialising so do not expect any sort of entertainment in the evening at all. There was road noise (room 7)

Dar Maktoub is immaculate, high-end and small enough to be thoroughly charming. Staff are super helpful and friendly. The restaurant is recognised as amongst the best in Agadir, and drinks on the terrace come with glorious sunsets. The gardens are beautifully curated, as are the furnishings and artwork. There’s nice touches - like pétanque, tortoises (!) and ample and varied pool seating - and the pool is immaculate and big enough for fitness swims. Lahoucine looked after us at dinner and throughout and is simply superb.

We had a hire car so the 20 minute journey into town wasn’t a problem and it was easy to get on the road to Sidi Ifni and other places further afield. Taxis seemed to be plentiful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Dar Maktoub. It is a small hotel which made our stay there feel very personal. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The hotel was elegantly designed and beautifully landscaped. Everywhere was spotless, the food was delicious and the pool was perfect for us to relax beside and play in. We were provided with good recommendations of where to go and what to do. We did consider hiring a car but it was easier and less stressful to use a taxi and all the organised activities we did came to Dar Maktoub to pick us up and drop us off. If necessary the hotel would book activities or call taxis. Nothing was too much trouble. Dar Maktoub was the perfect place for our Moroccan adventure and to spend valuable family time making memories together.

There is nothing we didn’t like

Exceptionally peaceful. Beautiful surroundings. Away from the noise of Agadir itself. Outstanding evening meals and breakfast. Very good shower. Really courteous, welcoming, competent staff who knew exactly how much attention to give us. Manageress was most helpful, especially in advising us on our trips from the guest house and in arranging taxis

Only tiny improvement would have been couple of chairs in our room.
