My sister and I had an unforgettable stay at the beautifully restored 400-year-old Dar Bensouda in Fez. From the moment we arrived, we felt like queens. The Dar’s exquisite antique decor and serene ambiance created a perfect oasis after a day of exploring. The exceptional staff made our experience truly special. Omar, our guide, was kind and patient as he helped us navigate the maze-like streets of the medina, stopping along the way to shop and show us the city’s handicrafts, history, and culture. Yassine, the hotel manager, provided exceptional and seamless service. He was always happy to share recommendations for dining, drivers, and tours, and he kindly answered all our questions. Aziz, the kindest porter, helped us get from place to place, making us feel safe and welcomed with his warmth. Thank you, Dar Bensouda! We truly experienced the warm heart of Fez, and we can't wait to return one day with our entire families!

# The house itself is incredible! We travel a lot, and we haven't been somewhere even close to that palace! It's bigger than you imagine and it's A MAZE! ^^ # The room was almost a maisonette apartment! # The terrace and with it # The view (on the mountains, the university, the big mosques- basically over all Fes # The food
One of the receptionists (when he faultilx thinks you don't speak French, he will talk REALLY bad behind your back about you) that would be a good reason, not to stay there!!! - ALL of the other staff (with now exception) was really helpful in every way!

The Riad itself inside is very nice, clean, and full staff really helpful, including both the staff from dining and the porter. Great communication from the hotel staff prior to check-in. We were given all the information we need and they even went above and beyond to setup of our room with additional welcome decors and food for our anniversary. Food price at the main dining area is also very reasonable with delicious dishes. Overall, great stay.
The location of the Riad -which is inside the old Medina, is a bit far from the entrance. So, had to navigate down in a literal mazed-like alleys and streets. It is a bit indimidating for first timers (which is probably the case for every guests). Would recommend to have a porter from the Riad to come and pick you up. Both in and out, especially if you have luggages and hand carries with you.

The property is charming and rustic, the riad is 400 years old and UNESCO listed. It was a cool haven from the blistering heat outside as we were travelling in July. The pool area was very tranquil and relaxing. The riad has an excellent Hammam, so good we visited twice during our stay. Would highly recommend Donnia for gamage (body scrub) and Jalilla for the best massage. The staff at Bensouda are all so professional, friendly & delightful. The porter Aziz is a gem and a must, he seems to know every of the 9,600 laneways and every person in the ancient Medina. The team is managed by the charming Yasine who has excellent language skills and is always available with assistance.

It is a wonderful authentic building inside the Medina. The view from the rooftop allowed a 360 view of Fes and the medina. Our room was on top floor. It was a 2 story room, with the bathroom up the stairs from the bedroom. Also a guest room was available on upstairs section (we did not use). We had the breakfast included in the booking and a dinner at the hotel, both were very good. Good selection in breakfast buffet. On our departure date, they even accommodated an early departure for us to serve breakfast. Dinner was also delicious.
Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel. Being deep inside the Medina is a bonus, but it is also challenging to find your way in and out without a guide. We were able to wonder a short distance to find a nice restaurant to have some good Moroccan dinner. The room (perhaps being 2 story) was hard to heat (we visited in winter with cold nights) and heater did not function properly. My only regret is, the hotel was not able to accommodate our change in reservation to shorten our stay and cancel the penalty for our prepaid reservation (it is their right, but was hoping they can lift it).

The hotel is very beautiful, and the rooms are gorgeous and comfortable. However for us, it was the staff (Yasin and Aziz in particular) that made our stay significantly more enjoyable and fun. We easily booked tours, hammam treatments, restaurants, and a transfer to our next destination thanks to Yasin's extensive knowledge, professionality, and kindness. Aziz is the door man who also accompanies guests by foot to where they are going in the maze of Fez's medina! Although we could not communicate fully, we instantly bonded with this lovely gentleman. Shukran!

This riad was fantastic in terms of the grandeur of the property itself. It really gave us the feeling of being in a traditional riad and the price for the stay was good value for money. The room was the largest one we've stayed in and all the amenities were great. The breakfast was buffet style and they were happy to cook you an omelette or to warm up your bread upon request. Our porters were also really lovely and kind in taking our bags through the maze of the old medina.
Being located in the heart of the old medina, the location is a bit scary for women especially in navigating the streets toward the riad. The porters were very kind to have guided us 2 women there on the first night but after that we were left to our own devices and at every turn there were men who kept trying to lead us to a different part of the medina or ask us to go into shops. It got a bit tiresome.

The property is very nice, and the Hammam was great!! There is a new building/rooms that are spacious and nice, but the staff is what makes the difference!! They go above and beyond to help you with anything you need! Kenza was the best in organizing everything and being extremely helpful!! He organized a tour with Omar (I believe was his name) and he was great! Very friendly and helpful to go around the Medina. Great tour and reasonable price because most tour guides will try to charge much more.
The breakfast could be a little better, but it was good enough!

Beautiful room and facilities, with a lovely bathroom and courtyard. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. The rooftop patio was lovely and breakfast was good. The location was fantastic and within walking distance distance everything we wanted to see. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. We asked them to arrange a private tour of the old city for us, which they did on very short notice for an extremely reasonable price.
There was a large (very loud) group who checked in halfway through the first day of our stay. They spread across the accomodation and made it difficult to find a quiet space to relax. Potentially introducing a quiet common area within the hotel would allow guests looking to relax while enjoying the amenities there to do so without being bothered by large groups of other guests. We were also one night late to the accomodation due to widespread flood in the area of Morocco we were traveling to Fes fromand were not able to obtain a refund for that night despite explaining the situation to the hotel, which was frustrating given that the circumstances were outside of our control. That said, we did enjoy the one night that we stayed.

This Riad was a relaxing oasis tucked into the business and chaos of the Medina in Fes. My sister and I stayed for three nights while we experienced Fes and we had a fantastic experience at this accomodation. The room was beautiful, spacious and clean, the riad grounds were absolutely stunning with fantastic views from the rooftop terrace, historic grandeur within the old building and a wonderful pool to relaxin and and beside during the heat of the day. The traditional Moroccan food was also delicious, we ate breakfasts, plus some lunches and dinners at the riad, all were excellent. Special mention to the lovely staff, who were kind and helpful before and during our stay. As two young women staying within the medina safety was a concern, but we always felt safe inside the riad and trusted the staff.
Nothing really, everything was fantastic.
