The breakfast was excellent. Such good variety and really fresh and tasty. The staff at breakfast are unbelievable, plates are cleared almost immediately and in general, they were really helpful. If something wasn't " on display" they made such an effort to go and source it.

My husband and I stayed there for four nights and the turn down service, turned down one side of the bed as if for a single guest and gave one chocolate for the first two nights. Then on nights three and four, they suddenly seemed to realise there were two guests. Its a really small insignificant thing , definitely did not affect our stay in the slightest and we just smiled about it but it does indicate a miscommunication or lack of attention to detail somewhere.

The restaurant is excellent. Probably the best one that I remember. The view from the terrace is nice on the sea. The rooms are clean big and with all the facilities. The old style but working properly is beautiful. Just outside the center.

The noise from the room. I was exactly in top of the air conditioning central machines and they did not stop during the nights. The fact that booking told me it was sea view and instead was city view. They proposed a different room in the attachment but the smell was not so nice and moreover it was not nice like the main building. I asked for a breakfast box but I did not find it at the concierge when I needed.

Lovely grand historic hotel with stunning views of the ocean. The breakfast buffet is superb and staff very attentive. The room was comfortable with a big bathroom. I was fortunate to have a sea view from my bedroom with a huge terrace which was a welcome surprise. Many different spaces in this hotel to enjoy from the lounge & bar area, pool & garden, spa & gym and another nice discovery was the sushi bar looking at the sea. The main pool is wonderful to sit and relax at but also visit the spa pool which is perfect to swim lengths, not to mention the well-equipped gym. Above all the staff were always very helpful and friendly, and I appreciated the late check out too, thank you!

A stunning colonial style hotel with beautiful views. We stayed for four nights. The staff friendly and helpful. The food in the main restaurant, was delicious! The buffet dinner we had was plentiful. Kudos to the chef. Enjoyed the bar too. Very clean room with comfortable bed & beddings. A nice big pool to just relax and read/swim. Loved our stay.

Little things in the room, like cotton buds, nail files etc that you find in luxury hotels were not available. I did bring that up on check-out and the staff was very receptive of my feedback.

All the staff were extremely amazing…I was suprised with a birthday cake and bottle of champagne for my birthday. The food..the food…the food…variety of choice during breakfast, I stayed for three days and every single day had a suprise. I definitely going back. Your chefs must be guarded they are the best! The views were amazing too…waking up to the sea view was memorable.

The bathrooms had a foul smell. Something which can be dealt with but other than that I’d still rate it a solid 10.

Reasonable value for money. Great facilities in relation to the pool, gym, bar.. Staff is good in general terms.

Both pools require a deep cleaning of the floor and side walls- not clean enough- I had to ask for towels everytime as they were not available. The breakfast area/restaurant has to evolve- need to change the chairs (neither really clean nor comfortable)- there is a better way to give the colonial style- furniture looks tired. Menu at the restaurant is large but the delivery is not there in terms of quality (maybe focus in less dishes with higher quality?). Best dish is lamb chops by far. All the staff told me not to have the chicken.

Poland Serena Hotel, is the place where you can go and come back refreshed. I can surely recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit Maputo

There’s no shelter for our cars, which that side needs improvement. Most of the staff members struggle to communicate in English, I therefore recommend that training of the basic things in English

So much hospitality, courtesy and congenialitiy! The Polana gave me a luxurious room with a balcony even though I had only booked a standard-room. I was allow to use the room from the morning until late check-out at 1 pm the next day without extra-charge. A thousand thanks to Mr. Manuel Cossa who helped me with my missing luggage. But the highlight was a delicious chocolate-cake and a fruit-platter for my birthday. I was very touched. You can't expect anything more.

We stayed for one night at the Polana mostly because my Mom spent a lot of time there growing up so it was a wonderful opportunity to see a place that she has spoken about fondly for many years. The Polana really is a grand old dame. We had a wonderful afternoon at the stunning pool and a lovely evening in the where we also ate dinner. Check in staff and the wait staff in the bar were excellent. Oh and the bed was sooooo comfy - sadly we had to get up at 03h45 for a flight! We also really appreciated the room upgrade.

A couple of things missing in our room - only one robe and one glass. No shower cap - only 3 empty (used) boxes.

The building is fabulous. Service is generally very good. Wi-Fi throughout the hotel worked very well. The rooms are a comfortable size.

There’s what I thought was a concierge desk, but instead it’s staffed with whatever bellman available. When I asked for a tour company, one of the bellmen tried to convince me to use him after his shift. I refused and they connected me to a guide on the phone This guide saiid he would personally pick me in his car at 1pm. Instead he sent someone else who was an hour late. We did not use them as the guide on the phone was not honest. Most important, we lost several valuable hours during the day.
