The staff was very helpful - they helped me with personal computer problems and even let me use their own computer and email to solve a problem that I had. Also, there was a problem due to changes with the hotel and with booking - they upgraded my room to solve the problem! Free 24 hour coffee was also great!

There was a problem due to changes made directly with the hotel and also via booking which resulted in a mixup. The integration of communication should be solved.

The rooms are clean and it’s good to have the possibility to make tea and coffee in the room. Location is good too, close to public transport and in 10-15 min walk you’ll be in the center. Also a good conference room for business meetings. Internet quality is very good too.

The mattress was a bit soft for my taste and also the pillow wasn’t comfortable. I realized later there was an option to change the pillow but I saw that too late.

Room was good, albeit the bed mattress was a bit too soft. AC was good (and needed) and the room itself was nice.

Room was not ready and we had to wait for two hours. This was because the hotel chooses to use 3rd party underpaid staff to save money and then let the staff at reception to deal with the fall out. The hotel has parking, but it is limited and you might have to book (not mentioned on the booking website). It is also expensive (EUR 17,50 per night) - again not mentioned on the website. And as the parking is limited, your car might be blocked in by other cars. To be fair the staff dealt with this very quickly, but it is good to be aware that if you want to use the car whilst staying at the hotel it might be better to not park in the hotel basement. WC paper great for sanding wood, not so great for WC use.

I chose this hotel as it was close to De Oosterpoort, where I was attending a concert. The location could not have been better! I could see De Oosterpoort from my window on the top floor and it was just a two minute walk away. I visited in March on a wonderful sunny spring weekend. The window in my room was huge and I had a beautiful view of the whole city. It was like having my own private conservatory. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly and were happy to store my luggage when I arrived 4 hours before check-in. The hotel had a nice relaxed atmosphere and I felt very comfortable there. I will definitely return!

Honestly, I loved everything about this hotel, there was nothing not to like.

Location is excellent and the secure parking while a little expensive is a valuable option staff were helpful and polite room was comfortable

the shower in our room flooded the floor every time we used it , the shower door does not seal properly building work was a little inconvenient but everyone did their best to minimise disruption

As a retuning customer I was not surprised at the very friendly and efficient check in. A few minutes walk from the city centre,10 minutes from the train station Views from our room was stunning. Very comfortable, basic room ,but Spotless. Excellent shower . Delicious buffet breakfast, very friendly, helpful staff. So easy to hire bikes and book canal trip. While my son is studying in Groningen, this will always be my hotel.

Nothing negative to say.

The room was not very big but had a very nice view (6th floor). It was super clean. The bathroom especially was crystal clear. I did not get breakfast, so cannot comment on that. Regarding location, I had a conference which was 1 minute away, so perfect. The Grote Markt is also a very short walk anyway.

Rooms are not super soundproof. You could hear some neighbours. Plus the door did not close in a straight line, so you could see some light from the hall coming in the room.

We have noticed that most hotels in the Netherlands do not have a flat sheet just a fitted one and the heavier comforter on top of the fitted sheet. If the room is warm, you have to sleep without a cover because the comforter is too heavy.

Liked the room we chose with a canal view. Reception staff were excellent, helped us out with city maps and directions and explained the transport system, tickets etc. Very pleasant. Good breakfast choice.

Reception area is a bit souless. There is no proper bar with a bartender etc. Had to approach reception to get a drink, who then had to unlock cabinets and then stood by as we made our choice. Was difficult to see through the grill on cabinets to make a choice.

The hotel location was perfect for exploring Groningen, which is a surprisingly great university city - more fun than more famous cities such as the Hague or Utrecht. Our room was massive and comfortable. We had to pay for parking, but it was not unreasonably expensive and it made the trip hassle-free.

It is never clear whether you have to pay for parking here, even if the underground space for cars is empty, but you always pay in the end.
