I loved the friendly and homely environment.

The walls are very thin, you can even hear the phone ringing in the other room. Restaurants should pay more attention to noise at night. There was still loud laughter in the corridor at 2 am.It felt like tanks had rolled into the room above me, and although we're not going on a trip to sleep, maybe room service at 9 am is too early. After a 13-hour trip, I have no desire to get up at 9 in the morning. But other than that, I loved being there and I'm sure I'll make an effort to go once a month when I go to this place again.

The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful, including by responding very quickly to questions about the booking before I arrived. The hotel is very comfortable with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in the bar and dining area. Local people meet at the hotel and this adds to the pleasant atmosphere. There was a good selection on the menu for dinner, and breakfast served at our table was very good. There is a very comfortable lounge area for guests. Parking at the hotel is very convenient and free.

Our room in the eaves was a bit small but was comfortable. I would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Everything was excellent, from the selection of food at the continental breakfast to the delicious choices on offer for the evening meal. The staff are all very friendly, efficient and really keen to make your stay a memorable experience. The hotel is located in the centre of a beautiful town and near to a selection of shops, bars and restaurants although, like the locals, we preferred to stay and eat here and as it is always busy we're sure to book our evening meals. You won't get service like this in a standard hotel as it is small enough to treat all their customers as friends.

Potential customers should be aware that the hotel does not have a lift and the stairs are narrow so unsuitable for anyone with physical disabilities.

In a really beautiful area, with a gorgeous square and church right outside. The hotel itself is lovely too, with a lovely pub/bar downstairs (we ended up coming down for a drink after check-in cos it just looked so lovely). We stayed for a Toverland trip, I highly recommend this hotel if you’re going there. Very nearby! The staff were so kind and friendly, we had a good chat with them. And they also ran the afore-mentioned bar. You can tell the locals love it there because of them. Worth noting we were a group of 3, this room was fantastic for that situation as there was a separate 2nd bedroom. I can’t fault this place and it was so reasonable cost-wise too. I’ll absolutely be back, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else for Toverland.

Literally nothing at all. There isn’t a lift or anything so be aware of this but that didn’t affect our group. I think it’s well pointed out in the description though, and the stairs were fine!

Hotel restaurant area has been re developed since our last stay and is very bright and welcoming. Dinner is excellent and served very efficiently with a smile. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to enjoy the outside seating options available, perhaps next time.

Stairs are quite narrow

This is a select hotel and cafe restaurant which is situated in the middle of a really lovely village. There are only a limited amount of rooms, but this adds to the feeling of being treated more like part of the hotel family as the staff get to know you personally. The rooms are ensuite and are very clean, beds very comfortable and the restaurant serves meals which are all delicious.

Nothing really within the hotel and the adjacent church, with its own history of damage during the second world war, chimes on the hour but this stops at 11pm.

Nice small room,comfortable, clean,nice location-middle of the center,friendly staff. I missed the flight so I needed to wait 3 days and I searched something piceful and far from traffic and crowd,this place was perfect for getting rest.

Was a bit cold in night,I couldn't control heating.

I, like other reviewers when they find a gem, hesitate to recommend this hotel and cafe to others as it only has a few rooms and I would like to ensure that when I need to book again, that they will have rooms available for us! Everything was great, from the reception to the rooms, to breakfast and dinner, we could not have asked for more (but I am sure that if we had, we would have got it!).

The building is old which means no lift and narrow stairs, but this is a minor issue only if you are unsteady on your feet.

We arrived quite late and were told restaurant hours had changed to close earlier. But they agreed to find something for us so we did get some dinner . Really nice to sit on their terrace with a beer after a long journey and watch the world go by, (although we had to sit in a smoking area which wasn't so good, as non-smoking space was full ) . Plenty of parking in their car park & room was fine.

A very hot night so we had all the windows open & were woken by early morning traffic.
