Gorgeous location, friendly staff, quiet, back-to-basic get away. Very basic room with comfy bed, side table and lamp. The guest kitchen has all the basic kit, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge space. Plenty of food places and supermarket a gentle 15min walk away at the mall. Clean tidy shared showers and toilet block close to room. The evening yoga classes I attended with Ash were fantastic. The pool, sauna and spa were lovely, easy to access, just asked for the keys. Extended my stay an additional 2 nights. Would definitely recommend and will likely return

Cafe/restaurant was closed and no tea/coffee supplied but easily remedied with a short walk to shops

The living environment with all the trees, plants, river, is stunning and we were able to incorporate it into our programme. Our venue was spacious, had all the equipment we needed (I brought my own speaker), and had the ability to make tea/coffee and keep warm with a fire. I liked that there were cushions and yoga mats available for our use along with tables and chairs. I was able to make my own breakfast and work on my computer after the retreat. The bed was comfortable and room was tidy.

The ablution block closest to our lodge was too small to accommodate us all and the other ablution block with a few more sinks and showers was that much further away. Putting shelving in the showers for clothing would be helpful. The communication about the venue and accommodation was a bit sparse in the beginning with having to wait a long time for a response and then there was different information given (I believe it was a volunteer without much experience). But, once on site, I found the staff very helpful and quick to respond and meeting all our needs to be the best of their ability. The catered meals were ok but not great, particularly for the price charged.

Loved the property and location. A real bonus finding such a peaceful place in the middle of a metro area. Beautiful trees and grassy areas. Check in was well arranged as I arrived after reception had closed.

Although my room was comfortable and heated, the location was facing out to dirt foundations. I may be wrong but I believe my room spec had 'garden view?' The curtains were coming away from the runners. Just a little detail. Guests kitchen wasnt really clean and the microwave didnt work. It is up to the guests to keep it clean, so we all needed to do a better job of that.

The property was exactly as described and that is why I have given it a 10. It is secluded and quiet and there are some permanent residence there and they were all very helpful. There was good communication after booking. Reception is not always manned but there is a key box and they send the details to your e-mail or through booking. The property is what you imagine a yoga retreat would be. The room I had was very basic but clean and 100% as described. Very clean linens and I found the bed comfortable eventhough I am no longer use to sleeping in a single bed. Wifi worked well and there was plenty of showers available for use.

There was nothing I did not like.

The retreat was a very comfortable stay. All the residents and staff were very friendly and happy to help. Staff/Residents were happy to explain the activities and where to find everything. I only wish I had stayed longer to make full use of the retreat. The room was excellent, very cosy. The bed had plenty of sheets and duvets. Had a lovely rustic atmosphere being essentially a small hut in the woods. But it had all the quality of life comforts like a heater, coat hooks, glass sliding door and windows with curtains. Couldn't have asked for more. The retreat is really a place where you should spend more time in, than in the city centre. Although getting to the cbd is really easy, there are 2 buses every 10 minutes from Albany Bus station which take you straight to the heart of the city which operates 24/7. The bus station is 20 minutes walking from the retreat. Make sure to get a Hop card for the bus whilst you're there! (They don't take cash or card payments from what I experienced)

Although the people at the retreat were amazingly friendly to point you in the right direction. It was slightly difficult to know where you could go and what you could use. There were lots of paths and buildings some were marked others not. They did provide a map of the retreat when checking in, but I didn't find it useful beyond finding my room. But I'm being nit-picking.

Beautiful setting, super handy to shopping centre yet nestled in stunning bush surrounded by reserve. Lots of lovely bird song, friendly people, and the yoga and breathwork classes are amazing!

Sauna was tricky to operate for a first-timer and spa pool wasn't operational. The classes can be changed in timing from the advertised hours online/ paper notices so it pays to double-check at the office or with a resident!

Nice comfortable, very basic room. Amazing location and beautiful gardens. Breakfast was brilliant, remember to wash your own dishes though. There was enough parking, it is first come first serve to park.

It was not clear on the booking form, so we didn't realise our booked room was shared dorm-like shower and toilet facility which was far from the room especially in winter, cold and rainy. We thought we booked a room with a shower and toilet. They should make that more clear on the website. The campsite communal bathroom facilities were not very clean, it seems they rely on volunteers to clean. That seems unusual for a $ 100 night stay. The whole facility relies on volunteers which is fine, but for a commercially rented property, better standards would be expected.

I found it to be way better than the reviews I had read about it. You get what you pay for and this actually exceeded my expectations. Eg I expected a single bed only to find 2 comfy double beds in my room. Well done

The room had a chair which was great but did need a table for people who need to do abit of work. Visitor kitchen could be abit larger.

The room was spacious and enough for my needs. I also enjoyed the quiet location and wish I had more time to get involved in the activities are offer Pool, spa, massages, free yoga classes. It was close to Massey University.

Shared facilities such as showers and thankful they were able to help when things changed. Try and check in during reception hours.

When my room wasnt ready at the time I was gratefully reassigned to a room that was thanks to the quick thinking n cleverness of receptionist in problem solving🙏. She was quite a switched on experienced person thinking on her feet, thank you Kate
