The view from the room was fantastic - cows on the pasture and snow-capped mountain peaks in the distance, couldn't have been more idyllic! Far enough from the highway that there was no noise at all. If the location works out for your travels, I highly recommend it! We had the studio room and it was fine, great kitchenette (no oven), fully equipped. Close by, we did the short walk to the Sluice Box and stopped at the hot springs for a soak. We hiked on the St. James walkway so location was great for us.

The trip staying at this rural unit was our second visit, returning for 3 nights this time at the end of our tramping holiday. The unit was spacious, Dani was super helpful with our needs, such as needing to clean our boots for return to Australia, advice re local day walks,, checking we had what we needed etc. and the bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in for a long while. And the views were peaceful and beautiful.

Beautiful location on a working cattle ranch.Only 4 units but each has a full kitchen. Very modern up to date motel with comfortable beds.Friendly and accomodating proprietor. Farm fresh eggs for sale but only if the chickens are working.

It is in a very isolated location . The nearest store and restaurant is a beautiful 45 minute drive away through a national park. So bring food with you if you are going to cook.

Lovely stop to break up the drive between Nelson and Kaikoura. Beautiful location with stunning views of the farm and mountains in the background. Really well equipped kitchen, bathroom (hair dryer and all), TV that you can connect Netflix too. I was even lucky enough to find a station with the Rugby World Cup final on. Wifi worked perfectly even though I was prewarned by the Dani and Mark that the rural area may cause problems. Place was spotless and was a really comfortable nights sleep. Plenty of extra blankets and pillows if needed. Maruia Hot Springs only 10 minutes drive away if you wanted to extra treat yourself.

Fantastic place, so special looking down over fields to the mountains. The host was so friendly and accommodating, we left our luggage there while did a most beautiful 5 hour walk to lake Daniel But and back .

The view tranquility and suck a well equipped place. With a wonderful large deck.

Scenic location, spacious and comfortable one bedroom studio with veranda and seating outside, which we didn't use during our stay, due to sandflies. The host was friendly, and busy working on the farm.

The defrosted fridge found on arrival, which was on a very low insufficient setting with the ice compartement door open. It wasn't a big deal, this can happen, and the fridge came back on after turning it up, but it contained living tiny flies, and I am not sure what to make of that. However all was good after I cleaned it. I mentioned this to the host when he knocked to greet us a good while later, and he apologised. We had no other issues.

Super efficient and friendly service from the start. We had fresh eggs delivered waiting for us! Must do. Super scenic in the middle of the hills. Also the two resident weka waltz pass out door in the evening so keep your curtains open!! Plus so cute rabbits scatter the drive in 🥰

We really enjoy stop here! During a long coast to coast journey this is the best middle point to stop! They provided us the milk from their farm. And even we planned to arrive after reception opening time, dani and Mark left us all the info in a customised piece of paper. Very nice and welcomed. The view in the morning was perfect for our breakfast! Thank you

Just a dream place! Well equipped kitchen, cosy sitting room, comfy beds, fantastic view. Private parking. And so on! Very clean and quiet. Few minutes from start to Lake Daniell walk. Thank you very much to the hosts Dani and Marc! And a special information: the eggs from the chicken of little Riley‘s (3 1/2 years old) are a must!

The unit was very clean and in great condition. The view was also amazing and Dani and Riley were awesome hosts. Great location too. Bed was very comfortable. We also got upgraded to a bigger room which was so lovely of Dani.

There was nothing we didn't like. Everything was perfect.
