We had a very comfortable stay here for one night on the way from Wanaka to Mount Cook and Tekapo. The attractive chalets (we were allocated one with the "L" of "MOTEL" on it) are very well equipped for self-catering and for large groups there is plenty of sleeping space upstairs. It's a short walk into Twizel village where you will find no fewer than two Four Square supermarkets, which seems more than one would expect in such a small place. Even better, on the grass beyond the motel there is a display of machinery used to construct the hydro-electric power infrastructure in the locality in the 1960s. It's well worth a walk around.

The chalet was spacious and well-designed, with a two-story layout featuring two beds upstairs and a large bedroom on the ground floor along with all necessary facilities. The location is fantastic, with easy drives to Lakes Pukaki, Tekapo, Ohau, and Mount Cook. The staff were exceptional—they kept my delayed luggage safe until I could collect it, even with my late check-in. The proximity to several eateries was another big plus.

Honestly, I couldn’t think of any complaints—everything was excellent.

We booked the place as we will be doing a trail at Mt Cook and the location was perfect. It was close the Mount Cook, the salmon shops and Twizel town. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The place has a small kitchen to prepare meal, enough for one person to be in. There is also enough space to park our car. The area was quiet and peaceful too. I would recommend the place for a couple of small group of friends!

We could not develop the art of controlling the hot water in the shower - a little more practice is needed. Other than that, all was good!

Good chalets with all the amenities needed and beds was comfortable with heating. Close to fuel stations, restaurants and supermarkets. Very pleasant location and close to highway as well. We liked the place and town. Beautiful it is.

Shower is not suitable kids. Very old fashioned either you will too cold water or too hot water. Host informed us that they are processing of upgrade. Otherwise all fantastic

What a lovely place to stay! A gorgeous chalet and we had plenty of room to spread out. Lots of things included in the kitchen.

The tap running in the bathroom sink - not just dripping but running. We could not turn it off. It must have needed a replacement washer. The lady at reception said she would leave a note for the owner and they don't pay for water. The entire night we heard water pouring down the drain which doesn't sit well with us with water being a precious resource.

We stayed for one night to explore Mt Cook national park. The place was incredibly clean including the bed and bath linen. It was spacious too with a separate kichen section. The bathroom even had a heated towel rack and a heater. A lot more amenities than we expected. Given how difficult it is to find accommodation close to Mt Cook this was really good and couldn’t recommend enough. Really good value for money

There weren’t really any mountain views as was in the photos from the room as they were mostly covered but that was a very minor thing.

Good location in Twizel. Cafe is within 3 minutes walking distance. Clean and spacious room. Amazing heat pump, insulation and curtains - great for winter travels. Very quiet. Small but good kitchen set up. Easy check-in/out. Premium hut vibes.

If I have to say something that I didn't like...probably the small TV, and the very small kitchen? But that's understandable - nobody comes to Twizel to just watch TV in the room or cook in the kitchen.

Good to see the room was made up every day upon return from my fishing trip. Next time please add new toilet paper when it runs out as I could not find any on my 3rd day...other than that, neat. clean, quiet, and central..have already booked my 5th stay for Dec 2025. Thanks to Chris and the team.

All was good....

The location was perfect - next to the coffee shop and an easy walk into town. It is by the playground for the children and quiet too. The little house was warm and well furnished/equipped. And clean - we are big on clean, it doesn't need to be modern but it has to be clean and functional - and it was ! Lots of parking. No complaints at all.

Staying at the Chalet was a new experience for us. The place is nice, the area is peaceful, and the location is good, centrally situated for trips to Mt. Cook, Omarama, and Tekapo.

However, the Chalet was very cold during the winter. Even though bed heaters were provided, it was still quite chilly. Other than this, everything was fine. I would recommend it if they provided portable heaters.
