The room was quite spacious, had a large soft bed, a minifridge. The bathroom featured a zoom mirror and a good shower, though it splashed on the bathroom floor because of a gap under the door. Good breakfast (served from 6.30 am).

Rude and unfriendly reception staff (no "hi", no "would you mind waiting a couple of minutes", just pretending you do not exist and then just leaving for another counter and calling another guest from there). Hairdryer with a button that you have to hold pressed when drying the hair makes my hand hurt. No kettle, no AC, no sockets near the bed.

Choice at breakfast - there was interesting apple porridge and salmon latkes. Nice lounge area on ground floor which I used as a quiet space to read. It’s a really good location for going up Askla. Plenty of parking on the streets nearby.

It was a bit weird that there was no kettle in our room on arrival. I had to ask for one and was told there were none available - even though I had seen some in a room for cleaning equipment. The next day, our mugs were removed from the room so we had to ask for then again! We found this odd as there were tea and coffee making facilities in the other Skandics we used. No gym or sauna area open during our stay. Also breakfast was very busy with tour groups.

The room was great - with scenic view from the six floor. The room was clean and had all typical arrangement and equipment. The breakfast has very wide range of choise in food. Location was good too-everything in reach of a hand.

The disappointing part was parking. They are expencive and difficult to find free spot not far from hotel.

The "Parken" hotel might look a big like a klutz from the outside - but inside, it's very modern, airy, spacious and comfortable. The room had a wonderful view of the ocean - how much more can you ask for? The location is superb - centrally located as can be, anything within max. 10 minute walk. There's a parking garage under the hotel (with direct access to the lobby - very convenient with heavy suitcases!). Breakfast is plentiful, varied and very tasty - as always in Scandinavia. The staff was both professional and very friendly and approachable at the same time. All in all : this is really hard to top !

The room was big for a standard hotel room and, bonus, it had windows that opened so we could sit in front of the open window and enjoy the views we had of Ålesund (our room faced the harbour£. We arrived really early and went to the hotel to see if we could store our bags there until check in time and the staff let us check in at 10:30am (the room wasn’t in use). That was unexpected and appreciated!

I think we were there out of season because the restaurant was never open. The only social/common areas of the hotel that didn’t seem deserted was the lobby and the breakfast area.

Great location, easy walk from the port (we arrived by fjord boat from Geiranger), harbor (where we caught the Vy bus to Alesund (Vigra) Airport and pedestrian zone. The room was clean and quiet. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet was well stocked with a large variety of hot and cold choices. We were able to store our luggage after checkout which was helpful, so we could walk around the area before catching the bus. The staff was friendly and informative.

Nothing, everything was great.

Great location, close to city centre, the city park from which it is possible to reach the view point, turist info point and Kongensgate with some of the main Art Nouveau buildings, restaurants and cafès (Racoon recommended); nice breakfast with many sweet and savoury options (Norwegian waffels and pancakes my fav); unfortunately only black coffee (Americano) available, it would have been nice to have a machine to make cappuccino or latte at breakfast.

Nice regular Norwegian hotel. Nice breakfast, very pleasant service (like in all the hotels in Norway though) of calling the taxi to the place from the Ipad at the entrance. Very good location provided that Alesund is a small city and all the places are very close. Very nice window view from the room to the harbour. Overall very pleasant experience.

I'd say, no basic drawbacks, maybe only one - it would be good for me, if, by asking about the iron and iron board, I won't be sent to the ironing room, but rather the stuff to be brought to my room directly. Apart from this all is good.

This a is very good 4 star hotel in the main part of town and right near the park. The hotel is new and very busy with lots off tour groups and families. I was upgraded to the top floor with a nice view over the hill and lookout and also the quieter side. The windows opened which was fantastic and the room I had was two rooms with beautiful big windows, perfect to watch for the aurora!

Location is on the foot of the hiking trail to mount Aksla and old town, breakfast is good, hotel decor is modern, comfortable bed and pillows.

Shower water leaks out to outside the shower stall so the bathroom floor is a bit wet after taking showers. There’s no air conditioning so it’s warm in the summer. We had to open the window but it can be noisy if people are partying at night.
