Great staff, beautiful facilities, delicious food. Sleeping in igloo part obviously cold but sleeping bags and reindeer skins kept us toasty. We did splash out on a carved suite but the regular rooms would have been fun too. Loved getting into the sauna the following morning! We borrowed snowshoes for free which was brilliant and did a couple of the trails through the forest. Really enjoyed an evening meal and then sitting in an upstairs section of the bar with Norwegian whisky 🥃
A bit more room in the storage area to change etc for those of us staying in the ice hotel part

We had an extraordinary stay in the Ice-Hotel, including a very warm and friendly welcome at the reception. The presented ice-art in the hotel looked so nice that we took plenty of pictures. This year the motto was Greek mythology. For couples, which would like to merry, an ice church was available. I can only recommend having at least a visit to this ice-hotel if you’re not a guest. The stay overnight in the sleeping bags was warmer than expected. The outside temperature was -15 degrees, inside -4 to -6. With a hat we had no issues to sleep on these reindeer furs. However, we had afterwards reindeer hair on parts of our clothes. By-the-way, all equipment is provided by the hotel. Before the night we had really good food at the restaurant and a northern light tour. Sleeping at 00:30am we waked up at 07:30. After the night a free sauna visit is possible to warm you up, if necessary. The breakfast was again excellent. In total this stay was one of our highlight visiting Norway in the winter, which we can highly recommend.

A bucket list destination that exceeded expectations. Our ‘room’ was in the Igloo hotel, we chose the Aladdin room which was stunning and had orange lighting and amazing ice sculptures including a palm tree, it looked tropical but was still very cold. The facilities in the main (non-ice) hotel were really good with a great bar area and a comfortable lounge with fire and TV. We chose the Maku fine dining restaurant for our evening meal and although expensive the meal was certainly in my top 10 favourite meals, we opted for the 3 course which included reindeer for the main, it was absolutely incredible. The sleeping bags to use in the igloo hotel were great but we still slept in our base layers plus hat and scarf, which you need as it is -5C to -7C in the room. The highlight of the evening was when the staff told us the Northern Lights were present and we took some great photos. We also did the Snowmobilling and the Snowshoeing from the hotel and both were well organised and great fun.
The Maku restaurant was next to the bar and although the food was amazing the location didn’t impress. This is not a dislike but you need to be aware that the room in the igloo hotel, although stunning, is just a bed - no bathroom, no wardrobes, we chose the more expensive room and they had a door but the others did not, although you will not be taking anything into the ‘room’ apart from what you sleep in and your shoes. If you need the bathroom during the night you will need to at least put some footwear on and go back to the main building, a short walk outdoors.

It was a unique experience but probably best only done for one night. You can arrive earlier but you don't get your roo. Until 8pm as the ice hotel is open to visitors until then. So you have to wait in the rest area until then. Over all it was worth it and I would recommend.
You basically don't have a room so you have to store your luggage, shower and wash in a common area that is not very big. All you can do in your ice room is Gunther after 8pm to sleep.

Despite being an ice hotel with limited facilities in the ice section. The hotel itself has plenty of options to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It is an experience sleeping on ice, and I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our stay. The Northern Lights absolutely went off and was the cherry on top of our stay.
I shouldn't have kept it a surprise from my wife, she wasn't impressed. In any case after it sunk in, she warmed to the idea, or more so, she chilled out. Pun intended.

The whole experience was as expected - excellent. In addition to the ice facilities there is a whole bunch of "ice free" spots: the top quality restaurant, a cozy big living-room with a fireplace, and some trails outside to have a nice walk. The northern lights we saw was just pleasant addition to all of the above.
We would have appreciated either a larger locker than we had for one room (two people) or one locker per person rather than one per room. That was really inconvenient.

Great experience staying in the ice hotel. We stayed in the basic ice rooms since they were much cheaper and you can visit the carved rooms before 8pm. Food was lovely in the Laavu restaurant and breakfast was also very nice. Sleeping bags for the ice hotel were cosy and warm which made for a comfortable sleep.
The nicer lobby area with fire is reserved for hotel (rather than ice hotel) guests, so it would have been preferable to be able to choose which area to sit in rather than being constrained to one common lounge area for the ice hotel guests. The staff were friendly, however overall the service was rather slow at the bar and the front desk.

We loved our stay in the ice hotel. This year's theme was the greek pantheon and the sculptures were gorgeous. We stayed in a suit, which is well worth the upgrade. We did many hikes in the area and enjoyed our time here immensely. The staff were helpful and friendly, the food was exceptional, and both the main hotel and the ice hotel are stunning. The staff even let us know when northern lights were out! Thank you all for such a memorable stay.

Loved the igloo hotel and rooms. It was awesome we were able to choose a room and the staff was very pleasant.
We were not told about making appointments for the sauna or hot tub, so we missed out on the opportunity to schedule them. We were told they were open 7-10am but that was the only information. We learned from other guests that you can make appointments but by then it was too late for us.

You are provided with two high quality sleeping bags each for your stay in the ice hotel, which could be unzipped and combined to create one large sleeping bag and the the other two could be combined to create a large duvet. This made the stay not only nice and warm, but surprisingly very comfortable and cosy for my partner and I. We were also fortunate enough to have a clear night and good aurora forecast. That combined with the seclusion of Sorrisniva made for a truly breathtaking Northern Lights show.
No complaints whatsoever! Our only regret is that we hadn't stayed longer. We think the perfect way to enjoy Sorrisiva would be to spend one night in the ice hotel for the experience and then spend 5-7 nights in the main hotel to enjoy the luxury on offer, all of the activities and the surrounding natural beauty.
