The Gamme cabins are super cozy. Every detail sums up to a very enjoyable stay form the book explaining the hotel conception to the delicious hot cocoa powder. The hotel amenities are just an extension of your room (the lounge in particular). Delicious candlelight dinner and breakfast buffet with all the local delights! Hotel staff extremely friendly and polite. Top notch service all the way! Thank you for the very pleasant stay!!

The whole experience at the Snowhotel Kirkenes was was incredible, from the welcome at reception, to the attention of detaol of tje staff to the acrivities that we booked, and of course, to amazing night we spent at one of the rooms in the snowhotel. The snowhotel: It was very comfortable comfortable and warm- they provide woollen socke, balaclavas, blankets, and sleeping bags so you're actually very warm during the night, despite the whole room being made from ice and snow. The bed was an air mattess with reindeer fur on it so it wasn't cold at all. Each room is decorated with a unique theme, we got the Bambi room which was cool. Unlike other snowhotels there is a warm room resrrved for hotel guests only where you can hang out have tea coffee and biscuits etc (because you probably don't want to spend too much time in the snowhotel apart from sleeping). There is also a place where you store your luggage, so you only take the essentials with you when sleeping at the snowhotel itself. There is a sauna also. As a guest you have dinner and breakfast included - the 3 course dinner was delicious, all locally sourced and seasonal food. There is an ice bar where you can do shots on ice glass (afterwards you smash the ice glass on the ice table). We really appreciated that they opened the bar for us after we got back from our Northern lights snowmobile activity at 11pm (shout out to Carolina who served us!) The staff: everyone was very friendly and had great attention to detail. They knew the activities we had booked so made sure that we can all fit it in, and served us our dinner quickly. It seemed like a place where the staff genuinely were happy to be there and there was a convivial community spirit. The activities: we booked the Husky Safari, Sami experience and Northern Lights hunting by the Snowmobile. We highly recommend all activities.

The snow hotel experience is something completely different. It is like sleeping in an ice cavern. The lighting and ice sculptures were very nice. The sleeping bags are warm, and the beds are comfortable. Of course, it’s not possible to have plumbing in a structure made of ice, so showers and bathrooms are in a separate facility. The kids loved feeding the reindeer and the endless petting opportunities in a dog yard with 150+ dogs. Good restaurant and great service.

Not a dislike, but more of a heads up: The location is beautiful, but not within walking distance of any other services. Also, if you’re sleeping in one of the snow rooms and need to get up at night, walking 50 meters to the toilets through tunnels of ice is cold.

Our stay at the Snowhotel was the highlight of our trip to Norway! The staff were all so welcoming and they really take customer service seriously, from the receptionists to the restaurant waiters, the mushers and the guides, they made us feel special. We stayed the first night in the snow hotel in the first room with the fireplace. We were given a tour of the facilities and an explanation on how to sleep on the ice beds in the sleeping bags. We were afraid we would be cold but the sleeping bags were actually quite warm and you also get woolen socks and balaclavas. We had quite a comfortable sleep and it was certainly a once in a lifetime experience to try! The snow hotel itself is a work of art, each room is unique and there is an ice bar as well which serves drinks in ice glasses. It's definitely worth a visit even if you don't spend the night there. On the second night we stayed in one of the Gamme cabins, which are very comfortable and have a huge glass window perfect to look out for the aurora. The breakfast buffet and set dinner were delicious, serving local dishes such as reindeer steak, arctic char and king crab salad. They also cater to dietary preferences if you inform them in advance. Lunch is available at the Gabba restaurant, the choices a bit limited, but we enjoyed the free-flowing hot berry juice there. There is also tea & coffee in the lounge available for guests throughout the day. For activities, we highly recommend the husky safari, snowmobile tour and the Sami meet-up - it's hard to pick our favorite as they were all incredible experiences. You can borrow thermal overalls and boots for these activities, as well as skis, sledges and snow shoes.

We wish we could have ordered the famous king crab at the restaurant, as it's only for people who book the king crab tour.

Firstly the cabins are lovely and cosy with bush views if you aren’t behind the snow hotel part. Secondly the STAFF are amazing! So kind and helpful and obliging. I could even send a WhatsApp msg to reception and they answer immediately. Alexandra was gorgeous driving me from the airport and to my cabin as I had an injury so needed to use a walking stick. The restaurant food was also fabulous. Dinner great. It was a quiet time of year so not many visitors. Loved the husky’s, the reindeer pets & the Sami man who was very informative and friendly. The ice bar is cool but wasn’t open for service the night I stayed there as it was summer. It’s a very cool place. Literally. Not sure I could sleep on of those ice beds but definitely an adventure.

I think they are in midst of renovations so a bit of construction going on. But it didn’t bother me. Ideally you’d get the best experience when it’s winter and snowing all around.

We were one of the first guests at the hotel for the summer season. At one point, we were the only guests! But it didn’t matter to the Snowhotel, we were treated with amazing service and amazing meals just for us! Lunch and dinner were both three course affairs of gourmet food and the staff was friendly and, helpful. The Gammi cabins are beautiful and a comfortable and unique experience.

The Crab Safari, was an incredibly rough ride in a rib boat for way way too long to a single crab pot that miraculously had the exact number of crabs we needed for lunch and there was no participation in getting the pots or the crab. In fact we didn’t even touch the crab until our one photo opportunity on the dock. The whole thing felt very staged and dangerous and not at all worth the money.

We stayed in a gamma cabin which was really amazing! Spacious, clean and well organised. Comfy beds. We did the king crab safari that was very interesting and informative. A real experience that I will remember for the rest of my life! We saw the northern lights both night that we were there... we were so lucky!

I am not one for "wild meat" so the reindeer steaks put me off a bit, would have been nice to have an alternative option for dinner. For some reason none of the hotels in Norway where we stayed have hand cream / moisturiser in the bathrooms.

The Snowhotel with all its activities and different areas was just great. So much to do and see. It feels like a mini theme park. There are reindeer, over 160 Alaskan Huskies to pet, dogsledding, snowmobiling, walks, snowshoeing, sauna and so much more. Dinner and breakfast was included and tasted fabulous.

Sleeping in an ice room igloo type structure in -4 degrees Celsius may sound like an adventure and it definitely is unique, but for us it just wasn't comfortable and we hardly got any sleep. Next time I'd rather stay in one of the gorgeous little cabins in a warm bed.

Loved the cabin; breakfast was great; dinner was very good; loved touring the Snow or Ice Hotel; enjoyed seeing the huskies; appreciated the support for getting luggage to and from our car to our cabin.

Many of the cabins large picture windows faced the white plastic wall of the Snow Hotel; staff changed our cabin so we had more of a nature view. The grounds seemed pretty torn up with a lot of construction going on. It looks like there will be a beautiful new reception office to greet and support guests which is needed. I had the expectation that reindeers would be a bigger part of the stay; I think there were 4 raindeer.

What an outstanding property, which does unfortunately come at a very high price. The cabins are excellent - plenty of room and the large window looking out over the area was great for relaxing and at night, keeping an eye out for the auroras. Breakfast and dinner (included in the nightly rate) were simple but good. Staff all excellent. If you are happy to part with the money they charge, the experience is very good.

We did not do the ice hotel rooms for our stay, but others around us did with mixed reviews. CARE - if you pick these rooms for sleeping you are only in it for that - showers and toilets are separate (but dedicated for ice hotel guests), and whilst there is one lounge area also dedicated for these guests, all of this may not be to everyone's liking. Also, the ice bar (accessible to all hotel guests) only open after dinner and does not serve alcohol.
