Room was comfortable and authentic in the old part of the Inn. Pool was nice but did not try food as reviews not good and left before breakfast. Great location and old inn a beautiful old building.

The room initially given was in the new part and not authentic. This was not the authentic room in a 300 year old inn as advertised and not what we paid a premium price for. After discussion with staff we got the room we paid for in the old in. Not the first place where advertise something but when you get there you’re given something substandard. Bit over priced but old inn is very nice.

A Charming and Authentic Hotel – Absolutely Worth It! This hotel is truly set in a 17th-century building, with room and common area interiors designed in an antique style and adorned with genuine historical artifacts. There’s even an old well and countless little treasures displayed on shelves. It’s utterly enchanting! During check-in, I spent half an hour just getting to my room because I couldn’t stop admiring and touching everything along the way. Once inside, I spent another hour exploring every detail of the room’s décor! The only minor inconvenience was that the Wi-Fi signal wasn’t strong within the thick, historic walls. But I didn’t mind stepping out to the rooftop café area, which not only had great Wi-Fi but also offered a stunning view! The café also served delicious local breakfasts and lunches. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to assist with anything I needed—whether it was early check-in, help with unfamiliar power outlets and adapters, tips on local attractions, or advice on how to reach nearby villages. I especially want to commend the wonderful SHADAB KHAN for his warmth and assistance. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel!

Wifi inside the old walls - but it’s expected in historical building :)

It's an amazing hotel, feels like living in a museum. Takes you back in time with all the authentic decor. The rooftop terrace and the pool are also very nice place to hang out and enjoy the hot days. The flower garden infront of the hotel is also very beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful with the carrying luggage up. The rooms have everything you need, but they are basic as expected in such antique hotel.

The breakfast has limited options. And the weirdest thing I ever saw - freinch fried for breakfast? Really? I suggest u put some more cheese options, different eggs etc. Noone eats fries for breakfast. Especially if you want to give the guests an authentic experience also with food.

Just perfect ❤️ It’s a super tradicional place, the rooms are super cute, breakfast and dinner also very good, by the pictures looked amazing even better in person! And the best of the best the staff ❤️ Everyone is so nice! The rooftop, everything in this hotel is amazing! I couldn’t understand when I had to review this, just having 8,1 when I started reviewing the not so good comments I’m lost for words. At the end of the day you see the world as you are, if you’re a person seeking complaints you will find them, if you appreciate things, you will find the good instead. Not easy to find on google maps? Maybe if you don’t know how to use it, cause I used it and found it straight way and on top of it it has SIGNS! Not everything we do wrong is other people’s fault people. The breakfast and dinner not good? Cause you’re expecting western food in a middle eastern country?I mean it had plenty of options and all of them delicious, what more do you want? The room sizes? It’s a historical, tradicional place, you want more of the same go to a hotel. Just stop complaining and appreciate the amazing hospitality of these people that we don’t get in our western countries, and whatever price is a lot higher vs the hospitality and service provided! To everyone working at the hotel - Thank you, you are the best ❤️

great location in the old center of Nizwa. The hotel is a renovated old building with a lot of character. The rooms have the vibe of traditional omani houses , mattress on the floor, (didn't bother me but might be a challenge for some people) and a trunk for storing clothes and belongings, bathroom was clean and spacious. I was lucky as I was upgraded to a room with inside bathroom when I had booked the lower category. small fridge with bottled water and kettle in the room. Walking distance to Souq and Fort Nizwa. Free parking behind the hotel (just don't follow google maps as it takes you the wrong way!) Breakfast was good, typical arabic buffet with foul and eggs, fruit, ... plus wa sproper coffee. not just nescafe

Lovely authentic old restored building in a fabulous location, near the fort, souk and old town streets and lanes. We loved wandering around, enjoying the very peaceful location. Nizwa is a great place and to be in the heart of it is wonderful.

The room was small, of course. It is an old restored building. The bed wasn't the most comfortable, but it was only for 2 nights, so no real problem. The pool area is great, as is the roof top sitting and eating area. Near great restaurants and delicious pomegranate juice in the fruit and vegetables market!

It's a whole trip in the past. The facilities are authentic and the staff are very nice. The breakfast in the rooftop is amazing. It is worth the stay! The castle, the ancient wall, and old mosque are all around the hotel. You’d better read a bit about the history of the city to savor this hotel to the fullest!

We bumped into renovation works of the property, but the hotel should offer a way better experience for guests staying there in a few weeks from August 2024.

Antique Inn is a beautiful property in Nizwa, a pearl of Islam. Lovely outdoor spaces and characterful interiors. I loved the place and found Youssef a charming host. His staff are to a man lovely. You won’t find a better location. Sitting in the garden or on the top deck for a meal, you have beautiful views to the mountains, historic buildings, gardens and both the fort and the central mosque. My room was comfortable and filled with character. It is no way modern and the comfort only goes so far. However, for a stay in historic Nizwa, this was just enough. I was lucky too that kind Youssef changed my room to one with in-room bathroom facilities. I think that probably makes a big difference on the experience.

Nothing not to like, as long as you’re not looking for mod-cons and in room amenities.

On arrival we were made to feel very welcome and for our whole stay the staff were happy and eager to help. Had a room with ensuite bathroom, but not all rooms do. Room was spacious and had the rustic local character that we hoped for. Location was excellent - just what we wanted, being in the centre of "old" Nizwa, just a short walk from the fort and souk. Limited choice for dinner/breakfast buffet if you don't like local cuisine but still adequate and served on a roof top terrace that provided views of the fort and mosque and surrounding area. Other nice inside (with traditional coffee and dates provided) and outside (including pool) sitting out areas provided where could relax.

Whilst there was WIFI, in the evening it got very slow and sometimes cut out. Could do with some TLC in certain areas, but does not detract from its charm. Not the hotel's fault as Google Maps has it in the wrong place, but couldn't find the hotel to start with, missing turning down to private car park, and then had to negotiate some very narrow streets. If arriving by car (particularly a large 4x4 as we had) you may find it easier to park in the public car park (outside the souk) and take 5 minute walk to find the hotel by foot first.

This hotel is a wonderful step back in time! The hotel is hundreds of years old but refurbished for modern comfort. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is great right near the fort and souq. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a dedicated parking lot for your car. Hotel offers laundry services (through a 3rd party) that I used and had no issues with. The hotel also offers some sightseeing excursions but I did not take advantage of those. Would easily stay here again!
