We stayed at Sol Plaza Hotel for one night before our 2-day excursion to the Uros Floating Islands. We were very impressed with the facilities that Sol Plaza Hotel offered. They allowed us to keep our bags for 2 nights and even called a taxi for us to take us to the Kalpajra port. The breakfast included was scrumptious, and the location is super close to the beautiful Plaza de Armas, surrounded by restaurants. It's also convenient to get a mobile plan with Claro and access ATMs nearby. When we returned from Uros, retrieving our bags was no problem, and the reception even helped us call a taxi to the bus terminal. Highly recommended!

In a great location, just a block from the main square, this modern hotel has a nice lobby area at reception, well appointed rooms with comfortable beds, tons of warm blankets and a comforter on each and a decent shower with plenty of hot water. Rooms were very quiet throughout with minimal noise even from the street below. There is a safe in the room, a dresser type area to put your cases and clothes and the wifi worked well throughout. There are lamps at bedside and the entire hotel was spotlessly clean throughout. Staff were all wonderful, cheery, friendly and speak good English and responded to any requests very quickly and efficiently. Breakfast is served between 7 and 10 in a large dining area downstairs. There is a good selection of cereals, several types of fresh fruits, yoghurts, 4 different types of bread, ham, cheese, butter and jam and lots of tea or coffee options. There are also scrambled eggs and sausage as a hot option.. It's a great breakfast.

Only slight complaint was that the shower pressure was a little light and getting a comfortable temperature took a little trial and error.

Location was probably the best thing, just off the Plaza Mayor. It’s in the town centre, not by the lake, but only a 20-30minute walk to the pier from where the boats leave for the Uros Islands. There’s always something going on in the Plaza Mayor and the streets off the square are buzzing. The hotel itself is pretty standard for Peru, ok breakfast and helpful staff. They provide free coca tea at reception which is a nice touch.

Slightly smelly room one evening - again this is pretty standard in Peru, guess the drainage isn’t great. The second night it was fine. Open windows and close the bathroom door, problem sort of solved.

Spacious rooms, comfortable beds. Great for a good night sleep in Puno against a fair price. Puno itself was quite lively. We read up front there would not be too much to do, but we quite liked the Puno atmosphere for the one night. However, if you want to really experience Titicaca lake as well, make sure you book a 2 night stay with a family on the islands. This is a WAY better experience than doing a daytour and you'll actually learn about the life of the Uros people.

Atmosphere of the hotel was not very special but the most important thing (rooms) were good.

The lobby and breakfast areas were very nice. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The shower had good hot water. The breakfast had a nice selection of fruit and other breakfast foods. We arrived in Puno early on the bus, and our tour wanted to pick us up at our hotel. We were booked at the hotel for the next night, but the hotel welcomed us in, let us hang out in the lobby, for 3 hours, let us eat breakfast (we paid 15 soles), and then stored our luggage for us until we returned the next day! They were so nice!

The shower/tub was a bit hard to negotiate

Location was great, very close to the central area, but not a lot of street noise, so I was able to get a good night's sleep. There was construction in front of the hotel, so there was no vehicle access and when the taxi I booked called the hotel, one of the employees carried my bag and walked me to where I would be picked up and then waited with me to ensure I got on my taxi back to the airport.

Short stay of 1 day 2 nights. Room was comfortable and breakfast was very good though juices felt like they were watered down. Pancakes were a bonus. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful especially around booking a Rossy bus transfer to Juliaca airport for early on my last morning. Rossy had just closed for the weekend when I arrived and weren’t scheduled to reopen until too late on Monday morning. The reception staff sorted everything out for me and I caugh my 9am flight without any glitches.

The staff were very helpful and organised early check in and booking onto tours at late notice. They also helped organise a taxi to the airport. It’s a 20min walk to the dock and 2min to the main square. The room was a good size and was light and airy.

The bath looked dirty (it wasn’t, it’s just stained) and the hot water took a very long time to heat up.

I got the room with the bathtub and it was amazing. Very nice, old-school elegant vibe of the bathtub. Great staff too, very helpful. There is also a free breakfast buffet that is an unexpected pleasant surprise.

The tv could have been centered to the bed. I do not understand why it was not mounted in the middle when there is space?
