The room was lovely and clean, and bathroom spacious. Breakfast was good with a variety of food options including western and Asian. Location was very close to the old fort with many historical sight seeing landmarks all within walking distance.

Nothing really. However, when we went out, the hotel would order us a Grab Car rather than a metered taxi (including when we wanted to go to the airport). This would cost us at least double the price, and the hotel were reluctant or refused the metered taxi option stating it was safer (which was probably true…but costly!)

The staff at Bayleaf are obviously "old hands" not necessarily in the sense that they have been working there for a long time but in the sense that they are acquainted with their customers especially those returning. Bayleaf is an old school hotel (immaculately clean) with its specific elegance yet without the airport-like impersonality of other bigger, higher class, Chinese-looking hotels in Manila. The roof restaurant/bar/smoking parlor are such a relief. Not the throbbing, relentless Manila barrio, not the ultra-elgant and souless Makati, but wonderfully intra Muros. Almost too good to be true. Will always return there, God willing.

can't think of anything off hand

Considering this a hotel operated by a nearby university (where a lot of their on the job trainees for their Hotel and Restaurant Management program usually complete their internship hours) - the experience doesn't feel like it. It's a very well-kept, very professional hotel. Check-in was fast and I was allowed to check-in 2 hours before the intended check-in hours, which was great. The room I stayed in has been relatively refreshed, has a very sleek modern, boutique hotel look without feeling cheap or campy. Room was well-lit, relatively spacious for a couple and has a large bathroom for its size. Very clean, no signs of roaches or pests. No issues with the airconditioning and the TV. My room also has a good view towards one of the historical walls, and the Manila City Hall where you can see the working clock tower, surrounded by manicured greens of the golf course - a great view to both wake up and wind down. They have four restaurants that you can try. On the ground floor they have "Cioccolatta", a coffee shop that has their specialty churros for only 130 pesos, which can be a good afternoon snack. A pizzeria "Raffaela" is on the third floor, where you can try Italian-Filipino inspired dishes. I tried their Raffaela Ragout pasta (traditional meat sauce) and wasn't disappointed. On the ninth floor there's 9Spoons a restaurant offering Filipino dishes with a twist. At night 9Spoons transfers to the hotel's rooftop restaurant, Sky Deck, offering great views at night. You should try their Bayleaf Specialty Iced Tea and Chocolate Wall dessert :) The hotel is within the walled city of Intramuros, so immediately outside the hotel you can scale on the walls (which can be seen from some of the rooms). It's also just minutes away from Fort Santiago and churches like the Manila Cathedral and San Agustin Church.

There was nothing absolutely wrong with the facilities but it may be easier to find the main entrance of the hotel if there were some signages nearby pointing to the main entrance of the hotel - I've had two Grab rides encounter this problem. The main entrance faces a side street rather than the larger main street making it seem not obvious.

The staff, historic ambience, included breakfast, room comfort including kettle, tea and coffee and a comfy bed; location to Manila's top attractions; and romantic evenings on the rooftop made Bayleaf a treasured experience and best memory. A hearty thank you to each polite, kind, and helpful staff member, even providing coconut creme substitute due to dairy allergy and ensured health safety by providing masks for those forgetting to be considerate. Congratulations to the architect and interior designer, to the breakfast chefs, and to all who make Bayleaf a top hotel. Bayleaf location is ideal, within walking distance to Manila's best historic restaurants, historic buildings, Chinatown, and a short taxi ride to Manila's fabulous art and anthropological museums and Manila's biggest market, Divisoria.

Aside from not liking leaving because my stay was that special, I was sorry that the Rooftop Restaurant management strictly forbids tipping waitresses to the point they are too afraid to accept a tip. Filipino salaries are low. Tips are fair for all waiters and waitresses. Those who go out of their way to ensure a pleasant Bayleaf dining experience deserve clients' tokens of appreciation without fearing management retribution.

1) Excellent value for the money; 2) Convenient free parking; 3) Quiet and clean room with effective airconditioning; 4) Good speed, reliability and bandwidth of WiFi; 5) Prompt and courteous staff; 6) Beautiful rooftop restaurant with lovel view and patio with accomodations for smokers

1)The process for reserving a table on the rootop was opaque with conflicting results. 2) Location is ideal for visiting intramuros but considering the traffic in Manila, the distance to malls, restaurants and other places of interest in Manila is troublesome and exhausting. Location is ideal for folks who have already been around the block in Manila or who will be hiring a car and a driver.

Right in the heart of Intramuros. Easy 10-minute stroll to SM Manila no streets to cross using the underpass and 20-minute walk to the Bureau of Immigration. The staff was fantastic, period. They went out of their way to help at every turn, every request or question. The breakfast buffet will satisfy both Western and Asian palettes. Lunch and dinners are both reasonably priced for a hotel of this statue in this area. I was hesitant when booking as I found reviews detailed enough to make an informed decision, I hope this review will provide assurance that others were somewhat lacking. This establishment is well worth the money. Bottom line: We will book here again if we need to be in this area and do not want to commute.

Everything was exceptional

Location is so apt. Restaurants - all restaurants including breakfast serves very good food. and I particularly commend, Ms. Reyn who accommodated my extension last minute and Mr. Julius who accommodated my last minute document printing.

1. the room is not soundproof given the daily clean up along the hall way and to other rooms 2. the housekeeping on Monday early afternoon KEPT knocking on our door for housekeeping, even if we DID NOT HAVE the HOUSEKEEPING REQUEST DOOR HANGER on. he even tried to open the door while locked. we were disturbed as we were trying to sleep in that time

Location-wise it gets 10/10, if you intend to explore historic sites of Manila. Intramuros is the main city during Spanish colonial time, so you will find Spanish architectures and historic sites within walking distance. The hotel is located right beside Intramuros wall and 5 minutes walk from public transportation station. You can spend one or two days just walking around the hotel. There are few universities and schools nearby, so expect to see young crowd all day which enhance the vibrance of the location. Breakfast is decent and view from dining area is superb! Staffs are helpful. Hotel allowed us for early check-in at 12pm since we reached early.

Manila has one of the worst traffic I have ever seen. Prominent shopping centres takes 30-45 minutes to reach due to high traffic. Keep at least 2 hours time to Airport. I was about to miss my flight due to bad traffic. On the hotel there is no major complain. Do not use Metered Taxi because I find them dishonest with tempered meter. It's better to negotiate and fix a rate before you onboard.

Lovely old building in Intramuros, the historical old centre of Manila. Great location, comfortable beds and bedding, friendly staff

A little bit dated, breakfast was adequate not huge variety. Beware: taxi ride to airport took 2 hours and we missed the flight! Hotel called Taxi and took 15 mins to arrive. It was slow and didn’t have electronic tag for motorway…traffic is terrible! in fact, road to airport (approx 200m from Departures) was closed, so we took our cases and walked!

I was ecstatic when they gave us a room with panoramic view of Intramuros and Manila. The room was neat and cool and the green tone soothes you. It was perfect for our birthday daddy ❤️ Thanks for the muffins! We enjoyed our breakfast! Good selection of foods and the staffs were very patient with every request. The kids had awesome meals! Definitely a top choice when we go back for a Manila adventure 😃
