This is a very nice hotel and we had a beautiful room. Also the hotels hall and living room area has a gorgeous view over the countryside and the ocean (Nazaré is about 9 Kms away). There was a small problem with electricity so I was sent to another room and everything worked out fine. They were very kind and washed and dried some things for free (since these bathing suits and towels of mine were hanging to dry when I had to change rooms). Our room was large and very pretty. Also had a big bathroom and a terrace area outside. Very comfortable bed. I also enjoyed the pool and had a very good dinner at the restaurant. Personnel is very kind and they really do their best to make you feel welcome. It is also very near Alcobaça and Nazaré. Tomar is only 1 hour away. So it has a great position. Breakfast too was very good and varied. Fresh Fruit, cereal, bread, home made cake, croissants, eggs, bacon, yogurts, jams etc..

I really liked staying here and would come back. The pool area and sauna may need a bit of refurbishing (some tiles were missing etc). But the view of the countryside and of the ocean is exceptional!

We loved our stay at Vale D'Azenha. The rooms are huge and the Hotel is set in peaceful and quiet surroundings which might not be everyone's cup of tea but it was definitely ours :) You do need a car to get to the Hotel but there is plenty of car parking spaces. The majority of the staff are amazing, very polite and friendly especially in the reception and the cleaning ladies always spoke too. We would have loved to have been able to use the outdoor pool but it was still a little bit chilly during May.

We enjoyed our meal in the Hotel's restaurant but it was very expensive so we only ate there on our first night. The breakfast room is very quiet, there was one chap each morning but he didn't appear very often and he didn't speak much at all and when I asked a question about how to use the toaster he snapped at me so I left it. The Wi-Fi was a little hit and miss but this runs through the TV system and our TV went down during our stay but the staff kindly changed it the next day. It didn't affect our stay at all.

A very nice modernist hotel set in the hills, midway between Nazare and Sao Martinho do Porto, so a great jumping off point for touring the Silver Coast. The rooms are very well appointed, with a huge bed and plenty of space, with a large glass wall overlooking the countryside, and a nice private patio to sit and take in the view. The staff are extremely helpful, and all speak excellent English (as indeed does pretty much everyone in Portugal) and are on hand to help anytime of the day. The hotel has a relaxed, informal atmosphere , and the infinity pool is a treat at the end of a long day on the beach.

The clue is in the name, it's tucked away in the hills, about 5km from the coast, so you've got to have a car, and be prepared to drive to get anywhere. There's nowhere to eat locally except at the hotel itself, and, though good quality, it's a set menu that doesn't change, so you'll get through the entire menu in a week. They also don't have any facilties for lunch, so you have to drive if you want to eat during the day.

Wide and spacious room with outside space with a table and chairs. The jacuzzi and sauna were great and it was nice to be able to book a time slot where it was exclusive to us. The hotel is very relaxing and not noisy.

internet in the room didn't work as well as expected (reported to front desk at the end of the stay and they mentioned they would fix it). bathroom doesn't have much light (it's more like mood lighting). It would be good if the shower head was detachable from the wall. Hotel is accessible only by car (or at least it won't be easy to use other types of transport)

Breakfast was absolutely amazing, good variety of organic and lactose free products, was a refreshing experience after the usually similar choices of other hotels.

Making appointments for everything, makes spontaneous holidays very difficult. Also, the sauna can only be used with some weird caps (free of charge version made out of plastic!!) so after all we didn't go just like I assume mostly everyone as must make appointment and then the plastic cap (or 4€ per person for a textile caps available but who wants to go to a sauna with a cap on?).

Very nice entrance with an amazing view and welcoming staff. The room was very nice with a big comfortable bed. big balcony with seating outside to enjoy the views. We tried to book two nights but unfortunately it was fully booked on our dates, so we didn’t have time to use the spa or pool facility but they looked nice. We would recommend eating at the hotel for Dinner. The dinner was just lovely (try the best cheese in the world! a starter on the menu, get two as you won’t want to share). The owner of the hotel was very nice and we could have spoke to him all night about wines and the food.

Nothing that wouldn’t stop me from staying again. The toilet door in the room was just glass with little privacy, it would have been nice to have it at least frosted for privacy. I loved the hotel look inside, but the eating area lacked the attention to detail and the character to match the rest of the hotel.

We loved the modern design of the hotel. The quiet situation and also the rooms were well situated. A nice balcony overlooking the garden. lovely pool and other facilities. Everything was very clean. The food in the restaurant was delicious and a good price. The staff were charming, efficient and extremely helpful.

I’m not a dog lover (sorry) so wasn’t so keen on the very inquisitive little dog - owners I believe…

Our stay as a family of 4 at the Vale d'Azenha was the highlight of our trip to Portugal. This place could not be more perfect. After a busy road trip exploring Portugal entering this hotel was a calming respite. We all immediately felt relaxed and at ease. The rooms were beautiful. We did have to book two rooms to accommodate our family 4, and I believe we could have done with one but the rooms were right next to each other and we loved them. We also loved the ability to reserve the sauna and jacuzzi for two people, it was the perfect opportunity to privately unwind. From the location to the rooms, to the front desk staff everything was perfect. I will however say that their Golden restaurant was by far the best meal we had in Portugal. Everything was absolutely delicious and perfect. I have a million reasons to come back to this hotel, but the restaurant is definitely on the top.

The jacuzzi in the sauna would not go above 35C. The owner explained that this was due to an incident where someone got overheated. So I understand the caution but I believe raising it to 40C-45C would not hurt.

A beautiful hotel with lovely staff. Fabulous views. Great massage but might be a good idea to warn people when it is a man.

A glass door to the toilet! Really!!! To make matters worse it was heavy and incredibly difficult to open with a tiny knob. I ordered a dish of vegetables at dinner. A plate of 10 tiny slivers of veg arrived. we were so stunned we could only laugh and could not bring ourselves to comment to the waiter. However they were delicious!

The hotel serves a splendid breakfast buffet, which includes delicious multigrain bread baked on the premises. They only serve dinner -- excellent regional food. The large and nicely appointed room is equipped with top-quality beds and pristine, 100% Portuguese cotton linen. I loved waking up in the morning and stepping outside to look at the beautiful valley landscape and hear the goats grazing, with bells hanging from their necks. Excellent and attentive service, they knew us by name. I was particularly grateful to Pedro, a receptionist who helped me figure out how to fill out a form and comply with the Portuguese Health Department protocols.

The concrete floor in the shower stall is slippery. Next time I will be wearing my rubber sole flip flops.
