The location was walking distance to a a surf break, city center, and a 10 to 15 minute walk to a grocery store. The staff were friendly, fund, and had good energy. Enjoyed how clean the rooms were, as well as the house as long as the guests cleaned up after themselves. Appreciated the group dinners, the nightly open small bar, and opportunities to get together to hang out posted in a whatsapp group chat. Great views from the house and just an overall chill place.

Not being able to cook and use the stove in the kitchen even though it was available. You can use the microwave and oven only. Stayed for 12 days and sheets and towels weren't changed. But could have asked, so perhaps that was my own fault.

The community was absolutely amazing 👏 I was great by Sébastien (a guest) and he said "I don't know you, but we made dinner. Come if you're hungry" and then I joined a group of the hostel and everyone was absolutely so friendly. I asked for a desk to work and they put a desk in my room. They had a guitar to play as well. They have yoga matts, a group chat with activities, and extremely respurceful. Breakfast every morning makes nice community as well! Forever greatful for this crew 🙏 There was parking on the street as well. It is a 10 minute walk from downtown. I loved the lighting in my room and how cozy the beds were.

Small kitchen. However, it was well equipped and everyone was so nice. Could use a blender (maybe there was one)

The staff's customer service was fantastic from beginning to end, in providing us information about transportation, the local town and beach areas and the shopping and dining. Although we didn't participate in all the events/activities organized, they did a pretty good job of planning paid community dinners.

The breakfast room was almost nearly full and hard to find space on the table even though we were going much later. Also the breakfast items were running out fast and we had to manage replenishing the coffee or other items on our own. Another issue was with the other guests not picking up and cleaning after themselves. In the shower areas, guests were leaving their soiled towels and that didn't leave space to hang stuff when using the shower. Guests should be asked to hang their used towels in their rooms.

Noise from other guests until late in the evening, people also seem to take little account of each other (a lot of noise until late, with doors slamming, loud music, (some) guests do not clean up clothes/towels; On booking.com it says 'no children allowed', presumably because of the age category that is around here (young adults), but unfortunately this is not mentioned on the site (where I had booked); in my opinion it is really an accommodation for young people (20-30 years old) who like to have a party.

This place is amazing! We booked for one month and couldn’t find one negative thing about this hostel. The breakfast include basics and all you need. The staff is friendly and they offer multiple activities you can join if you are up to. The location is right above the beach and the houses offer terraces with amazing views. In the month of a stay everything was clean for the whole time. Bathroom and kitchen was cleaned daily and kept tidy unlike some of the hostels we stayed in the past. We recommend this place!

Breakfast was decent, not what you would expect, but very tasty. The selection wasn't huge, you had your 3 options of cereal, a couple choices in yoghurt, 2 types of very tasty bread (white and brown) with lots of different spread options from PB&J, Nutella to Butter with cheese. Steamed egg, a toaster and fresh salad. Coffee Tea, milk and soya milk.

I definitely would've enjoyed some croissants or Hashbrowns at breakfast you know something hot, but I can understand that a lot of people that stay here are surfers so might not be optimal surfer diet for slow release energy. I think I missed out by not taking them up on their classes due to my friends staying elsewhere but I'll be back

Nice quiet street

The bed wasn't put together well. One side was higher than the other with a hard lump and a dip in between. Breakfast was a little slow to come out. No bread for toasting just rolls. Butter was straight out of the fridge so difficult to spread. Had to wash our dishes after breakfast which seemed a little strange as there was a guy working. Checkout was supposed to be 11 but the cleaning staff came at 10 and started cleaning everything. Felt a little awkward.

This was an amazing hostel! One of the best I've ever stayed at. I stayed for a couple days at the beginning of a surf trip around Portugal and it was so nice that I came back and stayed again at the end of my trip. If I was to do another trip to Portugal I probably will just stay at Surf and Chill for the entire time. It has easy free parking, the breakfast is delicious and plentiful, the rooms are clean and bright (I paid for a private room, did not see the dorms), and the vibe is perfect! They curate a wonderful sense of community. I participated in one group surf expedition that was awesome. And went to one of the group dinners. Super fun crew that is clearly connected with the local community. The waitresses and other patrons at the restaurants knew the hostel workers and it made me feel like I was part of a crew, not a solo traveler. After dinner we went to a "underground" bar that was really cool. Highly recommend staying with surf and chill.

There was nothing I didn't like...I'm trying to think of any complaints. Maybe the pillows were kind of small on the beds. But I am really stretching to think of anything negative. It was an awesome place.

This accommodation is on another level compared to e.g. hostels. It’s more like a community house. There are multiple private bathrooms, large common room with kitchen and couches etc. Also the bunk beds are high quality, with curtains, power socket, etc.

Probably just that the offered group activities and dinners are quite expensive. Exception are surf lessons, which I’d consider fairly priced.

The staff are very friendly. The view/landscape from the hostel is spectacular. The location is great, 7 mins walk from the center of Ericeira. They provide surf classes every day and the instructor drives you to Ribeira, one of the nice beaches for beginners. They made the breakfast time flexible according to the surfing lessons timing which is amazing.

The heating in the 4 bedroom dorm was not good. There were these 2 small electric heaters but they don't really make the room warm enough.
