The Blue bamboo Hotel is one of a chain of hotels in the area. This one is one of the smaller and cheaper ones located near to the old pier. We had an en-suite room at the side of the property accessed by stairs (no lift). Breakfast is a continental buffet which is served in the breakfast room on site in season (off site in a sister hotel on the sea front off season). There free parking nearby on the street. The castle and old town are within easy walking distance and there are three small supermarkets further up the road. The area is a good base for walking in west Algarve.

There are a limited number of tables in the breakfast room.

Friendly and helpful staff. Hotels in a beautiful location. Nice breakfast and good to have fridge in room.

Hotel rooms are a little dated.

Location and exceptionally friendly, professional staff from Inês who welcomed us at reception to the two housekeepers (Portuguese & Nepalese)who went out of their way to make sure our stay and my birthday celebration went without a hitch. Two balconies with fabulous views and a clean & comfortable double bed. My request for the Duna Parque Group Panda on arrival in the room was readily accommodated. Thank you!!!

Slippery bathroom floor - perhaps a rubber bath mat/wooden decking tiles would help? Plastic toilet seat. Musty bedroom cupboards. Despite these comments, there were plenty of clean towels and both the bathroom and room were spotlessly clean.

The site/facilities were great, in a good location. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to assist in anyway they could. The breakfast was delicious and generous. They had juice and a water dispenser on hand in the common areas which were much appreciated. The room was clean and the back patio was lovely for morning g coffee.

The fridge was unplugged and took a very long time to cool down so we could put supplies. Only other observation is that I did not see the giant panda anywhere😜

We got a pretty nice room, though with some dated equipment. The bed was comfortable, we had a nice view from the room and the bathroom was pretty ok. The location is great, just around the corner there is a very good bar and there are other good joints, bakeries and patisseries in close vicinity.

As with most accommodations we had in the area, one can hear a lot of noise from the room - guests walking in the hallway, closing doors etc. We were lucky to be tired enough not to bother too much, but this can be a problem for some people.

Fantastic excellent value for money - we were a family of 4 so had two rooms next door to one another. The twin room was very spacious and had a small fridge, A/C, large bathroom and desk area. Double was smaller but still clean and functional. Hotel is right in the centre of Milfontes, close to lots of lovely shops and cafes/restaurants. 5 min to beach. Marta, on reception, was incredibly helpful and went out of her way to help up and allowed an early check in to one of the rooms. Breakfast was good and free tea/coffee/juice 24 hours.

Breakfast started at 8.30am which was a bit late for us but this is Portugal, not UK!!

Really comfortable and clean, but the real prize is its amazing staff. Always smiling and superhelpful.

- Amazing breakfast: the only place with eggs and bacon during the whole trip, fresh orange juice, pancakes - Spacious room and bathroom. Everything was very clean - Room was located on the second floor and had plenty of natural light and fresh air, we've never used AC, just opened windows - Big comfortable bed, and covers suitable for tall people - Water pressure was perfect, no issues with hot water - Mini fridge

- not all the staff speaks english, but with google translate we managed to communicate just fine - the whole building has very bright exterior neon blue lighting, which might be very disturbing. But I was happy to see that it was turned off after 11pm

Our favorite hotel along the fisherman trail! Amazing space, good refreshments, and the most incredible breakfast. Highly recommend!

Good breakfast and plenty availability. Great to have coffee/water and juice available 24hrs. Excellent location, close to the beach, restaurant, shops and cafes. Very helpful and friendly staff. Will be returning.
