Hotel room was lovely ("one of the best designed rooms we've stayed in" according to my interior designer wife) The hotel has a car service which you can use to get to local dinner reservations etc which is a great touch Gym is well-equipped for a hotel gym (albeit very american-style - lots of free weights, less weight machines)

We booked a room that had breakfast "included". Breakfast included meant we had a credit at the restaurant that is open to the public. We each ordered one dish, one coffee and one juice - which didn't feel like a particularly egregious order. Our breakfast credit came to 60% of the bill. So I'm not sure breakfast "included" is particularly accurate. In fairness, as its a public restaurant the quality is higher than a "hotel breakfast" but something to be aware of. Value: the rate was as described and seemed to be in line with other similar quality hotels in LA, but I really don't understand why LA prices are as they are versus similar cities!

We loved our stay ar Casa del Mare. Before we arrived we noticed the hotel that we would arrive early. When we arrived we got an early check in and a room upgrade. Both the front desk and the Valet parking staff were very friendly and helpfull. The rooms and the hotel was absolutly beautiful with a perfect location at Santa Monica Beach. House keeping and room service were excellent. Restaurants and bar were good. Especially restaurant Catch. Pool area was really nice. Casa del Mare cooperates with the neigbour hotel Shutter. This was really nice and we had a lovely breakfast and lunch at Shutter. We highly recommend Casa del Mare and will def come here again.

We had one dinner and one breakfast at restaurant Terrazza. We felt a bit overlooked and it took some time to get service. Seemed like they were a but underataffed. Food and atmosphere was really good tho.

Friendly staff. Arrange anything, no problem. We had a great room with lots of light facing south east, so sunrise then no direct sunshine in evening. Shower awesome. Great comfy bed. Pool area was excellent - chilled water available, and the food and drink service was utterly impeccable. Food was really good! Loved the fish tacos and shrimp/avocado toast. You are close to the beach but safe and elevated at the pool area. Very relaxing! Location great for seafront Santa Monica. We loved the historical nature of hotel(1909) as well - what a lounge/bar area! The live music was excellent, as were the cocktails and service!. Everything was a very similar standard to our last trip(2015) - and we hope to come back sooner this time!!!

Excellent location by the beach, lovely Lobby , restaurant with views to the sea and bar with live music at night, access to the small swimming pool from the bedroom, lovely bedroom with views to the sea

Kitchen is clearly understaffed, there was lots of space at the restaurant but we had to wait 30 min to get a table for breakfast, very slow as well for dinner despite having enough waiters so clearly the issue is in the kitchen, good food though

The rooms were lovely with great attention to detail, I was given extra, water, towels and coffee after the first day from housekeeping noticing my needs without having to ask.

The common areas i.e., hallways outside the rooms could use refreshing up. Pool was very small but I found a fantastic public local pool just up the the road from the hotel, (Santa Monica Swim Centre on 16th street which I highly recommend if you are looking for proper morning lane swim). Shame there are not more outdoor spaces for just sitting and having a drink and enjoying the lovely beach area.

The whole hotel was so beautiful. The location right on the beach was a dream. We hired bikes right out the front and the kids loved the beach activities. The restaurants were delicious and the rooftop pool and spa was stunning, one of our favourite ways to end the day. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We loved everything about this hotel and will definitely stay here again.

The view of the pier was great. The location is right on the beach and is near everything you may need. Staff was helpful with recommendations and was accommodating to requests. Security in the area made us feel very safe even later at night. There was live music in the evenings and overall a great vibe to the place. Terazza lounge has a great menu and was perfect for breakfast, lunch, and cocktails.

The onsite restaurant Catch was disappointing in the quality and non seafood selections. The seafood was overall good. The chicken offering was almost unidentifiable and had poor taste. There was not really any shopping for basic needs such as chapstick, deodorant or anything you may have forgotten on premise. Had to use a delivery service for anything needed.

1) Staff are really excellent 2) Room is amazing (we got a free upgrade :) ) 3) Drinks were excellent including making off the menu cocktails without issue 4) Loved room service breakfast 5) Right on the beach - a short stroll from Santa Monica pier 6) The drinks area and restaurants are a real strength as they feel very luxurious

1) Hot tub was cold - Santa Monica is colder than inland LA so even in July was a bit cold going in the pool. 2) Pool was only 3.5ft deep and not very wide - there is a big terrace they could expand the pool which would take the hotel to another level in terms of facilities quality 3) My wife found the pillows too soft so lacking support so has a sore neck (though perhaps a point of personal preference)

Excellent quality of breakfast as well as breakfast location with beautiful view

Pool & pool area is really small. It comes in pictures across way bigger than it is. And on weekends almost impossible to find a place to sit. And one can not swim in the pool, way to small for that.

Our room was beautiful and well appointed. Always a plus when you can walk out after dinner and take a walk on the beach. The staff was quite exceptional!

Unfortunately, our room had the inland view, and the building across the street was undergoing construction. I'm sure it will be fine once it's finished. At least it had lots of light.
